…………………
Fayt's body froze. A small part of him screamed to pull away, but the rest of him wanted more. He didn't know why Albel affected him this way, but he did. A shiver ran down his spine as Albel's good hand wandered down his chest, over his stomach and slipped under his shirt. Fayt pulled away from Albel's mouth and let his head drop back onto his shoulder. Albel smirked and trailed his tongue over his previously made bruise. Suddenly Fayt's head was too clear for his own liking as his shirt was unzipped and slipped off of his shoulders.
“Wait . . .” he whispered as Albel mouthed over one of his nipples.
“Albel, wait.” he said more firmly putting his hands on the taller's shoulders and moving slightly away from him.
“What?” he asked a mixture of boredom and hurt swirling in his vermilion eyes.
“Why are you doing this?”
“Doing what?” Albel insisted.
“This.” Fayt motioned between the two of them. “Why are you all over me like this?”
Instead of offering any logical answer Albel turned away looking out the window into the murky darkness that was night. Impatiently Fayt took hold of the other's shoulder and turned him back to face him.
“I want an answer Albel!”
“I don't know!” Albel shot back.
He stepped away from Fayt and sighed almost lazily. “You treat me different,” he said quietly. “You treat me as if I am human. You don't care if I'm better, or you are better. Or how string I am. You put up with me and my temper. No one has ever stayed with me for so long.”
Again Fayt came forward. His hands shook as he reached out and touched the exposed flesh of Albel's back.
“I see something in you, I see pain, and loss.”
Without meaning to Albel flinched at Fayt's touch and his words. He lifted his metallic arm, the flesh under the metal ached. It always ached on nights like these. Slowly he turned to look at Fayt again.
“Certain pain should never be forgotten.”
The blue haired teen said nothing, his hands now resting on Albel's flat stomach. Swallowing he ran them up over Albel's chest and placed them on his shoulders.
“Why me?”
Albel smiled at that. “Like you said. You see my pain.”
He ran his thumb over Fayt's lips. “I've kissed you twice. And yet you have not pushed me away.”
Fayt blushed; realizing what Albel was getting at. What could he say? It was useless to try and say that what had happened was just a mistake. He wasn't even sure he could call it that. He shook his head and moved back over to the bed and sat down.
“I don't know.” he answered truthfully. “It just never crossed my mind to push you away.”
Before Albel could say anything more there was a knock at the door and Sophia poked her head into the room.
“Hey Fayt, can I talk to you.” she paused. “Why don't you have your shirt on?”
Deciding to ignore the second question Fayt picked up said shirt and zipped it back up.
“Sure we can talk. What about?”
Sophia smiled and sent a glare in Albel's direction. “It is nothing I want to say in front of him. Can we going to my room?”
Fayt was a little wary but nodded. This was his best friend after all. Taking one last look at Albel, who was standing in the corner sending his own glares at the brown haired girl, Fayt stepped out of the room. Once the door closed behind Fayt Sophia threw herself onto him.
Fayt's eyes widened. “S-Sophia?” he whispered as she wrapped her arms around his neck.
“Fayt.” She murmured as she kissed his lips lightly. “We've been friends for a very long time, right?"
The startled boy nodded and didn't think he liked where this was going. As a matter of fact, he already didn't like what was going on.
“I really like you Fayt.” she whispered leaning up to try and kiss him passionately.
Fayt turned his head away. “Stop this, Sophia.”
Eyes widening, she dropped back onto her heels, anger and frustration boiling in her chest.
“Why?” she demanded. “I've liked you since we were little. I thought you like me too.” She placed her hands on Fayt's cheek and force their lips together.
Fayt made a choked cry and for the first time in his life he felt disgusted by his childhood friend's touch. It had been different when Albel had kissed him. It was almost gentle, while this was desperate. Sophia's hand was suddenly at his crotch, fondling him. That was all Fayt could take. He pulled away from the girl and pushed her back. She landed hard on the wooden floor.
“Fayt.” she cried tears falling down her cheeks. “Why? You know I like you. Why can't you like me back?”
Fayt wiped his mouth on the back of his hand as he watched her cry. “I'm sorry Sophia. But we're just friends.”
“Just friends?” she screeched. “Since when have you thought of me as just a friend?”
`Since Albel joined our party.' He fought not to say that out loud. He was still slightly resisting what was happening between him and Albel. He didn't want to think of himself as gay.
It had nothing to do with acceptance. He knew that all his friends would still like him even though he was gay. No. It was more the thought of being topped by another male. Never in his wildest dreams did he ever think that he would be worrying about having homosexual sex. On top of all that me didn't even know how he felt about Albel. This night had been so crazy that he hadn't even had time to really think about his feelings.
Sophia had stopped crying while Fayt was lost in thought and was watching him.
“It's Albel, isn't it?”
Fayt winced and looked at his best friend. “What made you say that.”
“I heard you and Cliff talking outside. Is it true? Did Albel really kiss you?”
Fayt sighed and nodded, slowly.
Sophia was quite for a moment. “Is that why you don't want to be with me? Because of Albel?”
Fayt hesitated. “I don't know.”
The longhaired girl looked at the floor, stood up and turned away. “I don't want to talk to you Fayt. Come back when you're not a fag.”
She heard Fayt's sharp intake of breath and his footsteps as he left the room. Breathing hard Sophia's eyes burned with the onset of more tears. She willed them not to fall. It was better to be angry then to get hurt. A sob escaped her throat and she knew that she was going to cry. And cry she did. First Albel had taken her best friend from her and now he had taken her love. It wasn't fair.
