Being driven to school every morning was annoying; but Xiaoyu was always annoyed, and this was only the first week of being at a new school. She had yet to meet Jin Kazama; in theory he lived in the same house as her; at least that’s what the noisy girls in this school said. But she’d yet to see him at dinner or for that matter anywhere else.
Arriving at school, taking her time to walk thru the halls to her first class; no one at this point was ready to be her friend. But that was okay, she’d didn’t have too many in China either. Miharu was the only one who dared to be her friend; and that was more than enough. Too many friends is not always a good thing, at least that’s what she found in the past.
Sitting in class quietly thinking; Xiaoyu was more than annoyed by the girls squealing. Turning to see what the commotion was all about; her eyes widen and mouth dropped. There stood a tall lighted skinned, pitch black spiky hair boy. Immediately she understood why all the girls had something to say about him; although he looked annoyed by all this attention. With that Xiaoyu shrugged her shoulders and continued with her thoughts; besides that guy didn’t need any more attention. He seemed to have more than he wanted already.
School ended and she patiently waited outside for the ride she was forced to take home. “Hi” she heard. Turning around seeing that gorgeous guy standing next to her with his hands in his pockets; “Um… hi” Xiaoyu replied. “What are you waiting here for” he asked? “Oh” she smiled feeling embarrassed he wanted to talk to her, “My ride.” “So am I” he retorted “You wouldn’t happen to be Xiaoyu?”
Jin saying her name sounded good; “Yeah I am… who are you?” “I’m Jin Kazama… we live in the same house together?” Feeling herself blushing, this was Jin Kazama? The old man was hideous, and this Jin Kazama was his grandson. He began talking as her mind went off; analyzing the way he spoke, his chest, legs, face, hair, everything. She was brought back to reality when he called her name “Xiaoyu?” Closing her mouth and looking at Jin; “Um… what…?” He smiled, she chuckled looking away; being caught looking this hard was embarrassing. “Do you mind if we share the same ride home?” Glancing up at his perfect face; “Um… no of course not… no…um….” Jin smiled again and walked toward the waiting car. Which was exactly was Xiaoyu was waiting for, an opportunity to check out the back end of Jin.
The ride home was quick and quiet; Xiaoyu wanted desperately to look at Jin, who was silent looking out of the window. But she’d already made a mess of herself, all she needed was to say something stupid too; rolling her eyes at the thought, ‘Maybe I already did that?’

Arriving at the mansion Xiaoyu quickly retreated to her bedroom; slamming the door closed, back against the door and closing her eyes while dripping down to the ground. ‘Wow… Jin is cute!’ Shaking her head, remembering what she was told when she came to live in the mansion; “Conduct your behavior with thankfulness.” Nodding her head; ‘It doesn’t matter anyways, like someone like him would ever like someone like me!’ Shrugging her shoulders, picking herself up from the ground and walking to the sitting area; ‘Homework time… wonderful…!’
Hearing on knock on the bedroom door reminded her dinner was coming up; glancing at the clock ‘Crap… I’m going to be late!” Jumping from where she lay and running to the closet to dawn one of the dinner dresses that were provided. Rolling her eyes at the lack of color in that closet; black was never a color of choice, but since the old man liked black… so be it. A quickly look in the mirror, everything seemed to be in place; grabbing shoes and heading toward the door.
Hopping while attempting to put on her shoes while a handmaid fussed with her dress. Finally reaching the dining area; the handmaid glanced quickly at her, turned her around and pushed her thru the door. Xiaoyu was taken off guard and stumbled into the dining room; glancing up at the clock, smiling at the realization she just made it.
“Oh finally” said the old man “Please come join us.” Stepping quietly and slowly toward the table; the old man said “This is my grandson Jin Kazama.” Jin stood up and bowed to her; her breath was taken away. He was stunning; standing in black dress pants with a black button down shirt that flowed so nicely with his black hair and hazel eyes. Waking herself up again, she stepped in front of the pulled out chair and sat.
With dinner finally over, Xiaoyu was free to move about her bedroom; glancing at that awful dress off, that was still lying on the ground; she turned her attention to finding the nearest arcade. But her mind continually traveled back to dinner; seeing Jin bow while looking every so handsome. She understood what all the girls at school saw in him; but she was going to be thankful to be living in the mansion and for the training. Sighing to herself, no matter what she thought of Jin… it was going to be strictly business.

Miharu was always good for talk; always going on about some guy. This week’s flavor was a Korean named Hwoarang; and Miharu had talked Xiaoyu ear off the full lunch period at school. Thankful when the bell rang; “See you later Miharu” Xiaoyu said well leaving the table.
Walking to class alone thinking of Hwoarang; she and Miharu met him one night on an outing to the mall. He was cute, another fighter she assumed. Miharu liked him, but he didn’t like her; Xiaoyu had seen him a few times with Miharu wasn’t around. He wanted to get with her; never telling Miharu and never saying yes to Hwoarang.
Jin walked by in the hall, only glancing at her; it had been 3 weeks already that she met Jin, and she was still infatuated with him. He was always nice and generous to her; but she made a point of keeping him a good distance away. And he never seemed to mind being that far away; ‘So maybe I should say yes to Hwoarang… at least once… I might actually like him?’ Deciding she was going to speaking to Miharu before school was over on this matter; she turned to glance at Jin, surprised to see him had done the same.
Sitting next to Jin on the way home was getting harder; looking out the window her mind replayed how tempting he looked while they trained. His body was so muscular and shapely; she softly giggled at the thought of her imagination taking off into her jumping on him and kissing him.
“What Xiaoyu” Jin wondered looking at her. “Um… nothing” being caught off guard; Jin normally doesn’t talk on rides home. He gave her a look; “What are you giggling about?” “Um… nothing” she said embarrassed glancing at him. “Is it about me” he asked? Shock and stun painted her face; ‘Does he know? How did he know I was thinking about him?’ “No” she said “Of course not… why would I think about you?” “Oh” Jin said glancing down and out the window again. Closing her eyes and turning her attention to anything that was happening out the window; her heart hurt from the sadness she saw on his face.
Being unable to stay in that limo any longer; she was never so happy to see Hwoarang sitting on his motorcycle at some random stoplight. This was her chance; she could just get out of the car and take off with Hwoarang. Then she wouldn’t have to feel bad about making Jin sad; he was the last person in the world she would want to make sad. They had many talks and walks together; there is anything she wouldn’t give him… herself included. But remembering the sadness in his eyes when she lied about giggling about him was filling the back seat like alka seltzer did a duck.
Opening the door; Jin asked “What are you doing Xiaoyu?” She looked at him, breathing hard hoping and praying she was doing the right thing; turning from him stepping out of the car, slamming the door and running toward Hwoarang. “Hwoarang” she yelled!
Hwoarang turned around and smiled; she knew he was going to wait for her. Finally reaching him; “Hi Xiaoyu” he said “Do you need a ride?” She smiled at him, “Yeah, thank you!” Jumping on the back of his motorcycle; Xiaoyu looked behind her to see Jin standing outside the car watching her. Glancing down and finally wrapping her arms around Hwoarang while resting her head on his back as they drove off.
When Xiaoyu arrived home that night; she ran up the stairs and directly into her bedroom. Closing the door slowly, she didn’t want anyone to know she was home. Throwing herself on the bed thinking ‘What should I do now? I left with another guy… but I couldn’t be around Jin any longer.’ Getting up and walking out to the balcony; overwhelmed with disgust in herself; taking a deep breath saying aloud ‘Great what now Xiaoyu!’
