Trigun Fan Fiction ❯ Delicate Butterfly ❯ ...kill the spiders ( Chapter 3 )
~~Early noon/ late morning~~
Vash was sitting on a couch with his feet on the coffee table in the hotel room. The boom box was playing a jazzy tune that made his head bob up and down just slightly. Aerith was sitting on his lap and was once again playing with his glasses. Nicholas was lying on the bed with his hands behind his head; a cigarette was smoking out of his mouth.
Aerith stopped her playing and looked at Vash. His eyes were closed but he could feel her gaze on him. Aerith carefully inched her hand toward his nose, trying to suppress giggles.
Nicholas raised his head enough to see what Aerith was doing. Her tongue was hanging out the side of her mouth. He smiled and put his head back down.
Aerith's hand was an inch away from Vash's nose. Suddenly, his right eye opened and Aerith froze her face full of guilt of trying to take his nose. His hands snuck up from behind her and embraced her in a playfully tight hug. She laughed as he then began to tickle her.
Her giggles were carried down the hall to were Meryl was doing some work with Milly. Meryl sighed.
"Thank god for Vash or it would be us in there with her," she then chuckled as she typed away. Milly smiled. Then they herd a crash. Screaming Aerith. Gunshots.
Milly and Meryl didn't hesitate. They ran down the hall and into the living room were they saw Vash on the ground, clutching his arm as blood oozed from between his fingers. Nick was no were nor Aerith.
"Meryl! Milly! Outside (huff) go!" Vash wheezed as he nodded his head toward a crashed window.
Milly ran to the window and looked out it. What she saw made her scream.
"OH MY GOD!" Aerith was being carried to a jeep by a man Milly didn't recognize. They sped off as Nick came out with his cross gun. He threw it on the ground in anger.
"DAMN IT! AERITH!" he fell to his knees. Milly began to cry as she sank to her knees. Meryl was at Vash's side, clutching his good arm. She saw a tear escape Vash's eye. He embraced her with his good arm and let Meryl cry in his trench coat.
"W-who (sniffle) took her?" Meryl managed to say between sobs. Vash was quiet and looked at the broken window. His face rose with anger and he clenched his teeth together.
"Knives…," he hissed through his teeth.
