Sorry for the really long wait, I've been totally busy and no time what so ever for writing. Muahhahaa…you're going to hate me after this chapter!!! So anyway, here's chapter four!!!! PLEASE REVIEW!!!!!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Love…love? She thought. Death Strike was lost; it was so familiar and yet so foreign. She didn't understand. Where had she felt love before? She new it from somewhere but she just couldn't remember. She looked at a clock that sat on a bedside table. The town she thought, soon…it will be no more…
Meanwhile back in the town to be destroyed Vash sat there in thought. So many things were stuck in his head like a giant puzzle. Only problem was, he had all the pieces, but some were a little bent and didn't fit right. He sat there thinking. All that had happened it added up but how? He retraced past occurrences. Then…just then he got it. He knew, it was clear from the beginning. He understood.
~~~When he had first met Rey…no death strike. He had first met death strike… from the fire. She had killed all those people. She walked toward the graveyard and stopped in front of Meryl's grave. She touched a derenger and traced it with her nail as if trying to find something. But what? Something happened. She was in pain, her face…when her head shot up to the sky…but what happened? Her words staggering, whispering "no". But why? That tear stained face broke his heart.

Something was wrong with her, was it sorrow for the dead. No that couldn't be it he thought, she had killed all those people and not felt a single bit of remorse so why for Meryl? He thought about it more. When he had mentioned something of the innocent, she did the same thing. Something about not knowing or not wanting to know. Vash thought carefully, the same thing happened twice. When she touched the derenger and when Vash mentioned the innocent. Did something happen to her? Maybe unwanted memory of something she did or something that happened? Then he got it…memory!!!! When he mentioned the innocent she was mumbling something about making it go away, that she didn't want to know. Was it her memory? It was fitting in perfectly. Something he said triggered her memory.

He thought more. Trigger….Rey had said his name-triggered death. Death, he thought. Death for the town's people. Then he remembered that one instance where death strike regained her emotionless face after mentioning his own name. He didn't understand though….his name was the trigger for death strike to kill?

So many voices flooded his head; he just couldn't drown them out. "Pushing your love aside"…. "Should've taken Milly too"…. "I've disguised her well then…"…. "Still don't get it do you?"…… "No, can't be her"…

"I see you've met my pet"……………....................................

Vash zapped himself back to reality, he did it. He knew. He understood. He did throw his love aside. The one at the fire. The dark shadow, it was Meryl. The one at the grave, it was Meryl. The one who killed all those people, it was Meryl. The one who sings to those who will die at sundown, that was Meryl. The one they call death strike, that was…Meryl.

All this time she had been shadowed from his mind, the thought crossed him once but he thought of her as a foul creature that could never be the end result of something so pure. He felt like someone had just stabbed him in the heart with a sharp knife and that someone was the one he loved.

Right when he thought he couldn't take anymore. He saw her, the one whose name people feared, Death Strike. She walked up to him and stopped about five feet away from him. "I figured you out," Vash whispered. Death Strike stood emotionless, as if not caring what he had to say. "I finally understood the riddles, all the pieces fit right now" Vash was trembling with pain and sorrow. Little did Vash now; Death Strike wasn't the only one present.

Rey sat high up on top of a building watching his beloved death strike. He listened to Vash as he snickered in joy for his newfound realization of Meryl's identity. "Good boy" he snickered with pleasure. Down below Vash was speechless; he couldn't come to saying what he wanted to say. Did she ever know who she was? Who she used to be? He didn't know how to approach her.

For so long her face had clouded his mind. When he left, when he returned and now, there she was. She stood right in front of him. "What have they down to you" he croaked. It was too much, he couldn't take it. She was completely different. Her hair, her eyes, her figure, her heart. Nothing was the same. A very noticeable pain-stricken face crossed Vash.

Death Strike stood there. "Those who do not heed my warning will pay the ultimate price. Before Vash could even make a move he noticed a light glowing…but it was from death strikes hands? What did they do to you he thought. Something wasn't right. It was as if she wasn't ever human anymore. The light in her hand spread and grew into a deadly blue flame.

Still sitting up on a building and so far very entertained, Rey watched his beloved crush the heart of his enemy. Rey jumped down unknowingly by the still dazed Vash. Vash remained sitting on the side of the fountain. Rey spoke, his voice echoing in Vash's head. "Look at her dance Vash….isn't it beautiful" Vash shot up from his seat and looked around. No sign of Rey anywhere.

He turned his eyes back to death strike. In her hand stood a flame, she twirled around and the flames followed, growing and circling, reaching the floor and rising. Vash watched in horror to stunned to move. Dance he thought…a beautiful dance. Rey was right, she was beautiful and so was her dance. He had to stop it somehow, but the flames spread to quickly. She spun faster and faster and the flames shot out to the homes of the town's people. Fire erupted from her hands and the town was in flames in a matter of moments.

She stopped spinning and the flame that once glowed on her hand disappeared. Vash stood still mesmerized from the event. "What have you done" Vash trembled in awe. It was a tragedy. He watched as Death Strike scanned the surroundings for survivors. She had detected a few still running from the fire and with the speed of lightening she ran towards them. "I gave you your chance, now you will pay the ultimate price" she whispered.

Vash followed but she moved to fast, she had already caught up to a man and his wife and clawed them both in a instant leaving them to bleed to a slow and painful death. Death Strike noticed the man making a motion to something moving away from the town. It was their daughter still trying to escape. The man had motioned for her to run. Death Strike leaped over to the girl ready to strike in an instance but Vash stepped in front of her. She eyed Vash with an emotionless look. But scaling deep underneath her emotionless face was a feeling of extreme and undying hate.

She spoke, "You protect this girl, why? What good does your action do Vash? She will only suffer with the burden of her parents death" She finished and Vash was stunned. She was right he thought. This little girl will probably become a slave or work till her death. No one will take her in, that kindness in people had died long ago. She spoke again, "Let her join her family Vash, that way…she will be content and forever more lay in peace" she eyed the girl. "It won't hurt little one, come to me….death awaits" Death Strike motioned a hand to the girl.

The girl looked at Death Strike with a tear-stained face. She walked up to her. Vash was stunned…this girl he thought, she wants to die? She walked up to Death Strike and touched her hands. Death Strike removed her black sunglasses and looked at the girl with her silver eyes. The girl backed away and merely pointed at her face like she had just seen a ghost. More tears fell from her face, she ran back to Vash and grabbed on to his leg, hiding behind him.

Death Strike let her sunglasses drop to the ground…she thinks I'm a monster doesn't she….the thought made her tremble. I'm not a m..mm…monster… she thought. She looked up at Vash. Vash merely stared at her, completely in awe with the sight of her silver eyes. She looks so helpless he thought to himself. Without thinking he walked up to her and held her tightly. She only stood their, tears made their way down her cold and pale cheeks. Her silver eyes glowed as little drops of rain fell on her head.

Rey merely watched them with pure hate. Rain he thought, how ironic, when death cries…it rains. He silently, snickered from above them and continued to watch. Vash still held her while she remained standing. What is this she thought…are the clouds crying? She watched as more and more raindrops fell, the air was cold and sky gray.

The little girl simply stood there watching them with a confused look on her face. Why is he hugging her? She thought. She couldn't take and started to yell as loud as she could, "She's a monster!!! she killed mommy and daddy…she made them bleed, she burnt the town and…and you hug her??? Are you mad! She'll kill you too… why aren't you running?" she finished and noticed a slight reaction from death strike. !!!Oh no!!! The little girl thought, she's going to kill me! She shut her eyes tight and waited for the sharp pain of her claws.

Rey still stood above them whispering…"What to do…what to do…what will you do?" Down below death strike shocked all. She slipped out of Vash's hold and walked up to the girl. The little girl still stood, eyes shut and arms curled next to each other. Death strike reached the girl and fell to her knees, she looked up at the girl soaking wet from the rain with her silver eyes. The girl peaked one eye open and saw the pained face of death strike. She froze…she was sad? So many emotions shown on her face. The little girl was in shock. Pain…sorrow…guilt…fear…loneliness…so many emotions. The little girl opened her eyes completely and stared at the distrot death strike. The little girl slowly brought her hand up to death strikes face and touched her cheek. Death Strike couldn't take it, she put one hand on top of the little girls that sit on her cheek. She leaned forward and whispered in the little girls ear…"Don't cry little one, see….no more monsters…" with that said death strike took her sword with her other hand and struck her own body with the speed of light. Her hand dropped and she fell to the ground.

A piercing pain struck inside Rey's heart, he rushed over to her side, picked her up and teleported away after giving a last remark of "It's not over yet". The little girl was still stunned by what had just happened. She just couldn't believe her eyes. "She's…she's gone" the little girl said with a tears streaming down her face. Vash just stood there. What could he do? Comforting her wouldn't help much, her parents and her home were just destroyed by a "monster" that just killed herself right in front of her.

Vash had no choice he had to go back to Milly and tell about Meryl. He didn't know what to do. Vash noticed a few people still alive from the fire, death strike didn't get to kill everyone because of his interference. He asked an old man to take care of the girl and left the town. There was nothing he could say so he left. The little girl was now scared with the everlasting pain of death. That of her parents and that of a monster. A monster that cried at the realization of its identity. A monster the others called…an angel.
