**HI! Sorry this took so long! I hope to get the next chapter out faster, but it's slower going than usual because I'm writing a fake fic right now too and getting demands for updates! I'm trying to switch on and off on the chapters for this and that! Ganbatte ne?!

Disclaimer: Nope, still don't own Tsubasa or any of Clamp's sexy men!

Kurogane sat on the ledge of the broad marble balcony, breathing in the morning air. The situation should have cheered him; he'd finally been allowed access to the outside (albeit limited to the terrace), and the weather was nothing short of gorgeous. The unfiltered sun shone down brightly on the warrior's jet-black, spiky locks and there was a sweet fragrance wafting through the air from the gardens below. It was picturesque and perfect and it was pissing Kurogane off. His beautiful surroundings all seemed to mock the despair that had settled over his heart.

Fai had left him, nearly a week ago, and it was tearing him apart. The swordsman ran a nervous hand through his unruly hair and gave a long sigh. Over the past few days he'd come to some realizations about his relationship with the wizard, and not all of them were comforting. He'd been so preoccupied with whether or not he could truly accept his feelings for the man, that he'd failed to see that Fai might have his own misgivings about opening the doors between them.

He pounded his fist against the marble seat and cursed to himself. If he could just talk to the blonde, maybe he could ease his worries, but what could he do if the man didn't come to him? What if Ashura had already forced the mage into his next campaign? Kurogane didn't think that was likely, though. Japan had been the last sizable nation in the vicinity to resist Ceres, it would be sometime before the King could take his ambitions further abroad. Or at least that was what the swordsman hoped. He wasn't yet prepared to think too far ahead into the unknown future, about what he would do when Fai eventually was forced to return to battle. Moreover, what would /Fai/ do? The dark haired man knew he was opening the man's heart, slowly but surely. How would the wizard harden himself again to fight? Would it put him in danger if he couldn't?

Shaking his head in his hands, Kurogane grunted in frustrations, willing his thoughts to a halt. It was no good to think that way. He had to deal with the here and now, but that was becoming more and more difficult with each passing day. Hell, each passing moment was harder and harder to take. The warrior was a man of action, he couldn't abide sitting back and just letting time go by.

He stood up and began to pace, his mind working steadily on how he might stir up some kind of commotion to draw the wizard out of hiding. When he looked up again, he started.

As if by the strength of his will, Fai was suddenly there, dressed in his usual white, walking toward him.

For a second, Kuro wondered his thoughts had driven him to distraction and he was imagining things. When the wispy blonde stopped just inches before him, the swordsman whispered, “Are you real?” in an uncharacteristically sentimental tone.

Without speaking a word, the wizard lifted one pale hand, trailing a line up the taller man's chin until it reached around to the base of his neck and titled his head down. The breath seemed to catch in Kuro's throat as he watched the blonde slowly close the space between them, lightly brushing over his lips, a ghostly touch that sent a shiver running unconsciously down the dark man's spine.

Kurogane allowed the exquisite torture, hesitant to push further in fear that this might all be some vision born from his need to see the other man, to hold him, to… Oh, god! he thought, feeling Fai's mouth press more firmly against his own, a velvety-soft tongue sliding out gracefully to tease his lower lip. Any moment he knew his willpower was going to give way and the warrior's hands itched to grab hold of his lover and wrap him in his embrace, but he was afraid of breaking the moment.

As if on cue, the blonde's movements suddenly grew more aggressive, he thrust his tongue between Kuro's lips and inched his legs closer until he was practically straddling one of the man's muscular thighs. The wizard knew that his companion would want to talk, want to know why he had abandoned him for so many long days and nights, but he didn't want to deal with it- at least not yet. First he needed to feel his lover against, inside him. He'd endured all he could that week. Ashura had wanted the man to `entertain' him before he had to leave to deal with some diplomatic unrest in his new territories. Fai had been so torn, so confused by his feelings for Kurogane when he'd last left him, but after a few days of forced sexual intimacy with the King, he'd begun to realize the depth and beauty of what he had shared with the swordsman, and all he wanted was to run back to his arms and never leave.

But he'd decided to wait until Ashura had left before returning to his lover. He didn't want to have the King in the back of his mind when they reunited. All he wanted was to completely forget himself in the other man for as long as he was able. After that, well, he didn't know. His fatalistic views hadn't really changed. He didn't envision a future with Kuro because he never envisioned the future at all. All his hopes had been relinquished long ago.

But he would take what he could get, while he could.

Returning to the task at hand, Fai began grinding the growing bulge between his thighs into Kuro's pelvis, moaning against his mouth to make his intentions perfectly clear. Pushed beyond his limits of restraint, the swordsman finally brought his arms up to encircle the blonde, hauling him half off the ground in his rapturous desire to press him as tightly against his heated body as possible.

Just as eager as his lover to move things along after being denied access to such pleasure for days on end, Fai wrapped his arms about Kuro's neck and lifted himself the rest of the way off the ground in order to wrap his legs tightly around the man's surprisingly narrow waist.

Needing no further encouragement, his crimson eyes burning with the power of his need, Kurogane braced the blonde's body with one arm on his waist and one hand slipped under his firm buttocks to steady him as he walked back into the room and proceeded to slam his lover hard against nearest wall. It nearly knocked the wind out of Fai, but he didn't care. The possessive, domineering actions of his lover only served to fuel his own cresting desires.

The wizard gasped as Kurogane crushed his lips, demanding entrance into his mouth with an aggressive thrust of his tongue. As many times as the swordsman had told himself that he would be slow and gentle with Fai if the blonde returned to him, he couldn't stop himself from ravishing the man in his embrace. It was what they both wanted and there was no way he was going to deny either of them such carnal bliss. He could take it slow next time, he told himself. Now was the time to claim Fai as his own, and he knew the blond was doing the same.

Driven by desire, and needing to feel totally consumed by his lover now that he was finally near him once more, Fai returned Kuro's kisses with hungry lips and squeezed the man's waist with his thighs in demand for more intimate attention.

With a barely suppressed growl at the wanton actions of his willowy partner, Kuro moved his hands from the man's waist and nearly ripped down his flimsy satin pants. His own clothing was soon pooled in a winkled puddle about the warrior's feet and for a brief moment he paused, raking his calloused fingers down the mage's exposed backside and sucking in his breath at the erotic pleasure he experienced in simply being next to him- skin to skin.

Although they had been rushing at a frantic pace to consummate their desires, just as they had done before, there was something different in this moment, as Kurogane stood, poised at the smaller man's entrance, both of them panting for air as they held each other's gaze. There was no denying the deeper feelings that had now arisen between them.

Even now, in the heavy pause- Fai's hand reaching down to coat his lover's member with a magically conjured slick substance- they knew things would never be the same between them. Though neither of them at spoken, they knew each other's feelings as clearly as if they had shouted them.

“Take me,” Fai breathed in a heady whisper, the first words that had passed his lips since he had walked to Kurogane on the balcony.

“Fai,” the swordsman replied, his voice steeped in emotion, all his love evident in the one syllable. And then he ended the suspense, filling the trembling blonde in his arms in one long, slow push.

“Ahhhh!” the blonde cried out, his entire body quivering as he was impaled. His pleasure was tainted only slightly by pain, as his sensitive muscles were still torn and sore from Ashura's last brutal and unforgiving conquest of his body before he'd left that morning.

Kurogane felt his lover tense as he pressed forward and he slowed his pace, the torture both agonizing and exquisite. “Oh, god!” he gasped, swaying his hips in a smooth, rocking motion, unable to keep completely still. “You feel… so /damn/… good!” he ground out between steadily increasing thrusts.

Fai was relaxing with each and every movement, his body guided by instinct and a unquenchable yearning to take everything the other man had to give and return as good as he got. Quicksilver running through his veins as his pleasure mounted, he clung for all he was worth to his tall, darkly handsome lover, feeling like the proverbial butterfly pinned to the wall again and again without mercy. And all he wanted was /more/.

“Yes, Kuro! Yes, yes!” he muttered, nails raking across the man's shoulders to leave angry red trails over his skin.

“Uhh, Fai!” Kuro nearly screamed, his body pumping hard now, his hands tightening with crushing force around the blonde's hips to lift his pelvis and plunge him down once more onto his throbbing erection. He wanted the moment to last forever- lost in complete and utter abandon with this man as their bodies demonstrated the love that their lips couldn't yet speak of. But soon his ascent was tugging at him insistently.

“Come inside me, Kuro!” Fai cried, one hand locking with force into the stiff locks of his partner's ebony hair.

“FAI!” Kurogane choked as his orgasm wracked his muscular frame, his head turned down to bury his face tenderly in the crook of his lover's shoulder. Even after the last waves of his climax faded, the swordsman continued to nuzzle the other man's neck. Fai simply ran his fingers through the dark hair before him and breathed in his scent: deep and husky and mixed with the tang of sex. He was still pressed against the stone wall, held firmly in place by his lover. The gesture seemed so possessive and it warmed the mage deep inside, knowing he was wanted with such intensity.

When Kuro came back to himself, he slipped his limp organ from his partner's body and carried him over to the bed, laying him down gently.

“Now,” he told him, “we'll take things slow… I'll show you how it feels to have someone worship every inch of your body.” His words were serious, but he couldn't help sending a teasing smile down into those clear blue eyes. He was just too content to be very serious at the moment.

In return, Fai's features blossomed into a beautiful smile of genuine happiness, perhaps the first the crimson-eyed warrior had seen grace his features since he'd met him.

“Fai, I-“ Kuro began, but the blonde stopped him with a slender finger to his lips. He knew what the man was about to say, his fiery, honest eyes betraying his feelings. But the wizard didn't want the man to confess his love just yet. Not openly anyway, because he wasn't sure if he had the courage at this point to do the same and hearing it now would only complicate matters. He simply wanted to enjoy the moment for what it was.

“Show me,” the blonde told him, “Show me how you feel.” Then added with a devilish grin, “And take your time.”

Kurogane gave a small chuckle at his lover's coy tone and decided to put off his declaration; for whatever reason, he knew Fai wasn't ready to hear it. But he would most certainly take the man up on his request.

With more patience than the mage ever would've given him credit for, the dark haired man leaned down and with slow deliberation, pressed his mouth sweetly and gently against Fai's.

And for minutes afterward, that was all he did. Just kissed his lover while a rough hand grazed his face affectionately. It was the first time the two men had shared such a moment and one of the few Fai had ever experienced in his life. It was soft and passionate, rather than swift and crushing in its need and somehow this made it all the more intoxicating.

The blonde felt himself melting and finally realized the true caring and tenderness that could exist between lovers. Only now did he fully understand how far the King's crude sentiments of love actually were from the truth.

A stray tear slipped from between the wizard's long lashes. Whether it was in joy for his newfound love and hope, or in mourning for the love that never was, he couldn't say.

Glancing down, Kurogane saw his tears and brushed them gently away. “Why is it that I always seem to make you cry?” he said softly.

Fai look up into his crimson eyes with unexpected seriousness, telling him, “I've wanted to die for a long time, Kuro… now I want you to show me how to live.”

Before he could reply, the warrior found his mouth captured by his lover and he spent the rest of the day showing Fai the wonders of being fully alive.

***This actually ended differently then I had planned- it was longer than I thought so it ended in what I thought would be the middle of the chapter! More lemons in next chapter and some angst in ahead as well! :P
