Summary
- What if the Cullen’s hadn't met Bella in Forks Washington in 2005? What if instead they met her in Hogwarts school in 1972? How different would life had been if the Cullen’s were at war with the Marauders because of Remus, and Bella was caught in the middle?

Chapter 1:
The Houses and The Non-eating Cullen’s
Bella’s POV

I walked away from the Cullen’s and stopped behind Regulus, hugging him from behind. “Reggie!”

He turned around in my arms and smiled, “Bells, there you are! What happened, you just disappeared on me.” I leaned my head against his shoulder, and he patted my back. “Well as long as you’re O- Jake! What are you doing here man, aren’t you supposed to be with Remus?”

“Change of plans.” Jacob walked up to me and Regulus, putting his arms around our shoulders leaning heavily on them, wincing in pain. I watched Jacob worriedly, he looked horrible. He had bandages on his arms and around his neck; I pulled his robes back a little and saw that he had bandages wrapped around his whole torso. I shook my head while Regulus looked at Jacob in shock.

“You shouldn’t be here Jake; you should be in the hospital wing.” I rubbed his back softly, stopping when I heard him moan slightly in pain, “Sorry.”

Regulus put him hand up to Jacob’s forehead, frowning. “Your temperature is even higher than normal Jake, way over 110. You should be in the hospital wing like Bells said, I know your normal temp is like a 108 but still.”

Jacob grinned slightly, “What and miss the festivities?” At his friends faces he sighed, “Fine as soon as the feast is over I will go to the hospital wing.”

I was interrupted by a tall, strict witch. “Attention!” immediately the whole group became quiet; her aura wasn’t something you messed with. “In a few moments you will be walking through the doors to join your classmates. Before the feast we will begin with a sorting, now as there seemed to have been rumors going around the train spread by ourlovelygroup of troublemakers. Look here’s one of them now.” she said wearily, “What are you doing out here Mr. Lupin?”

A small boy with sandy blonde hair and gorgeous amber eyes came into view, I immediately recognized it as my childhood friend Remus Lupin. I went to open my mouth but he shook his head and mouthed the words ’Later’ to me. “Professor Dumbledore told me that there may be some problems with this years sorting and that I am supposed to help out. As to what that is I would not know, he didn’t go into any detail.”

“As I was saying there seemed to have been rumors going around the train spread by ourlovelygroup of troublemakersthat you would have to do rigorous tasks on order to be placed. I assure you that this was a lie and that all there is, is a very talkative hat.” McGonagall looked at Remus wearily and he attacked with his innocent face. It was adorable and unbeatable; with it, he was never accused of anything and got whatever he wanted. She sighed and looked away, “Follow and keep close.” she told us.

I watched in awe as dozen of staircases above me moved of their own accord, it was amazing; Jacob and Regulus must have had the same reaction by their whistles. We stopped in front of two grand doors, made of golden wood. The school’s crest was imbedded into it, it was absolutely gorgeous. When the doors open I couldn’t help but gasp in shock - as did the other first years it wasn’t just me- it, there were no words to describe howamazingplace looked. The current state of the sky was shown above us and if I didn’t know better I would say that there had been no ceiling.

“Remy! There you are where have you been?” asked Sirius as he pranced up to us. “Ah Isabella! Jacob my man! My baby bro Regulus! I have to congratulate you for getting this far!” He hugged each of us, throwing a necklace of flowers around our necks. This would have been funny hadn’t there been about a thousand people present. Me, Regulus and Jacob walked as if nothing had happened completely ignoring the git. When Remus had approached his best friend though he lifted up his hand and slapped Sirius across the head. “Hey mate, don’t ever do that again.”

Sirius winced and put his hand where Remus had hit him, “Damn it Remus that smarts!” Remus walked away ushering the first years behind us to the front.

“Mr. Black you have detention Friday night at 8. Don’t be late.” said McGonagall tiredly. Sirius smiles gracefully and yells out to McGonagall, “Minnie if you wanted to spend the night with me all you had to do was ask!” this earns him another nights detention and a deduction of points making the score Gryffindor -5, everyone else 0. Nice going Seri.

“Remus I thought you weren’t going to be here!” I asked his as we stopped in front of the staff table. He hugged me and whispered quietly in my ear, “There was a miscalculation on my part; it was only a two day cycle instead of three. How are you doing Bells? Sorry about Sirius it was a dare.”

“James?”

“Yeah James, oh we had better be quiet. Professor McGonagall is glaring at us.” Remus turned to Jacob and Regulus, Putting an arm around their shoulders. Jacob and Remus’ wincing did not go unnoticed by me. As soon as the feast is over, they are going straight to the hospital wing. “Hey guys. Good Luck in not getting in Slytherin. We will still love you if you do though. Anything is better than Hufflepuff.” He whispered this in such a low voice it’s no wonder McGonagall started the sorting while he was still speaking.

Unfortunately Jacob and Regulus could never be as quiet as Remus and disrupted McGonagall’s speech. “Here, Here!” yelled Jacob and Regulus. At McGonagall’s glare, they whispered “Sorry”.

McGonagall clears her throat, rolls her eyes and begins.

“Black, Jacob.” Jacob walks up to the hat rolling his eyes as he heard squeals from girls that were sitting at the house tables. Placing the hat atop his head, he didn’t so much as sit on then lean against the stool clearly bored. I could practically hear what the hat was saying to him: “With you I see clear bravery as well as bit recklessness. A werewolf at that! Not smart enough to put in Ravenclaw and you have a disliking for Hufflepuff- they aren’t that bad! And Slytherin isn’t your cup of tea so I guess that leaves-“GRYFINDOR!”

A firework went off and the Marauder’s were cheering, god I hope they aren’t doing that for all of us. Jacob smirked at me and Regulus. Slapping Remus’ hand, he took the note that Remus tried to hide from us. I frowned, wondering what that could possibly be about.

Next was Regulus’ turn, hat yells Slytherin as soon as it hits Regulus’ head. Regulus looked as if he was about to cry. I felt my heart breaking; he wasn’t in Gryffindor. I reach out to him and grab his arm but he violently shakes out of my grip. Sirius pulls Regulus onto the Gryffindor table bench, stroking his hair and trying to console him. Even the staff shook their heads, feeling sorry for him.

McGonagall continued as if nothing had happened. “Cullen, Edward.”

The beautiful auburn haired boy from before goes to the front of the group and I forget all about Regulus. (Bad friend Bella!) He walked gracefully to the chair putting the hat atop his head. I watched as he conversed with the hat, studying his features. He was really pretty, with his pale skin and golden eyes. No not golden, topaz. His eyes were Topaz. After a while the hat cries, “Ravenclaw!” and the beautiful boy walks to the Ravenclaw table without even a glance back.

The rest of the Cullen’s went up one after the other. The big one Emmett had been put into Gryffindor, like Jacob. The small spiky haired black girl had been put with the gorgeous Edward; Alice was her name I believe. The mean blonde had been put into Slytherin and a boy that looked like her twin - Jasper I believe- had been put in there with her.

Finally after another seven names the list finally came to me. “Swan, Isabella.”

I walked nervously up to the hat. What would it put me in? Defiantly not Ravenclaw, I wasn’t studious enough. Hufflepuff was a bleak possibility, Renee had been in it. If that’s the case though then I have a shot at Gryffindor, I hope so. One of us getting spilt from the group was bad enough poor Regulus, I really feel for him but at the same time I’m glad it wasn’t me.

I tripped on the last step and I fell into the stool, Luckily Remus was there to catch me, “Thanks.” I whispered softly.

He nodded, grinning widely. Trying to hide what I‘m sure was pain flowing through his body. “No problem Bells. Good Luck and don’t go to Slytherin.” I grinned, and sat on the stool, he grabbed the hat from me. “Ready?” he asked, leaving about an inch between the hat and my head.

I nodded, “Ready as I’ll ever be.” He placed the hat over my head, pushing it up when it feel into my eyes.

Ah a Swan, there hasn’t been one here in ages not since your father. Let’s see you have unwavering bravery, or is it stupidity? I really can’t tell, then again bravery and stupidity run hand in hand.

As long as I don’t end up in Slytherin I’m fine with stupidity.’thought to it.

No Slytherin, you don’t have what it takes to be in Slytherin anyway.

I glared at the hat. “If you don’t want me to tear you into shreds you’ll shut up.” I usually never have a temper but I was nervous and worried, never a good combination for my temper.

Ah fine, your smart even for Ravenclaw, but your not serious enough, just like the Potter and the Black heirs. “

I mean it hat, just pick a house.”get annoyed easily so defiantly not Hufflepuff. So I guess that means “Gryffindor!”

And there go the fireworks and the cheering. I grin and hug Remus hard, “Now we are all together.” He looked over my shoulder for a moment, indicating to Regulus, “Well most of us, poor Regulus.”

He nodded, stepping aside as a small blonde girl walked up and sat in the stool. Remus placed the hat on her head and pushed me towards the Gryffindor table. “I’ll be there in a minute, go console Regulus and save me a seat.”

I nodded and sat next to Sirius, rubbing Regulus’ back as he sobbed into Sirius’ robes. I looked slightly afraid at the teacher in front before walking up to her. I had to do something, anything to make Regulus feel better. I pulled on her robes slightly and Remus looked at me curiously, “Um, would you mind if Regulus tried the hat again? He’s extremely upset at where he was put; he wants to be with his brother. Can we please just confirm once more that he is really in Slytherin?”

I was shaking and Remus put his hands on my shoulders, McGonagall was about to protest. “Let the lad go again Minerva, there have been mistakes in the past.” A gentle voice came from above me, and I smiled. The voice belonged to Albus Dumbledore, the headmaster of Hogwarts.

Regulus’ mood brightened as he walked up to the stool. He kissed my cheek and smiled his thanks at Dumbledore. Remus clapped him on the back before placing the hat on his head. The hat was quiet, and Regulus looked up at the hat eyebrows raised. “I don’t believe you can do that… Well you have to pick, what do you mean I belong in both Gryffindor and Slytherin? That’s impossible… I don’tcaremy Mum comes and tears you apart, she didn’t do it when you placed Seri in Gryffindor. What the hell do you expect me to do? Wear the house crests from both houses… I WAS BEING SARCASTIC!”

I watched amused as Regulus fought with the worn hat. He had a habit of losing his temper at the worse times; this was one of those times. Regulus took a deep breath trying to calm himself and glared at the hat. Apparently he finished his vocal ranting and went on to cursing out the hat in his mind.

“Fine fine I place you in Sly-Gri. Slygriferin!” cried the hat.

“WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?! THAT’S NOT A HOUSE!” I fell to the ground in hysterical laughter, hearing the laughs from people all around he. The Marauder’s being the loudest. At least they find it as humorous as I do now I don’t feel as guilty.

“Gryffindor!” the hat cried.

“Really?!” Regulus exclaimed happily, all traces of his anger gone.

“No your still in Slytherin.” said the hat apparently bored now.

“I’ll kill you, you stupid hat!” yelled Regulus, grabbing it from his head and shaking it.

“Regulus, stop that! You’ll hurt it!” yelled Remus, pulling the hat from his friend’s hands. Handing it to McGonagall, he pulled Regulus in to a hug as the small boy started to sob again. “It’s alright Reggie. You can eat with us at meal times, and hang out with us until curfew. I’m sure Dumbledore or McGonagall will give you a pass to allow you into Gryffindor Tower. By the time it’s time for bed you will be happy to be rid of us! Also it you get minus points, it‘ll be for a house you hate so you have no worries!”

I snorted, highly doubting what Remus had said at the end. Regulus has a crush on someone in the group; he is not likely to leave us. “Come on Reggie it’ll be OK. Lets go eat and have fun.” I slung my arm over his thin shoulders, “Come let us leave this… bad thing behind.” Regulus smiled and leaned his head on my shoulder.

After the hats warning - where he was watching Regulus wearily- there was a marvelous feast. I couldn’t help but Edward from my seat, while I was staring I noticed that he hadn’t touched any of his food, neither had his pixy sister. I frowned, and turned to see that his monstrous brother didn’t either.

I turned to the Slytherin to see the Hale twins conversing in low terms; they too hadn’t touched their food. My frown deepened. Something was off about them; I turned to my friends seeing if any of them had noticed. Apparently not because they were eating and joking as usual. I watched from the corner of my eye as Emmett walked up to Edward and Alice, sitting next to them.

Edward turned my way and looked at me curiously, a looked of deep concentration crossing his face. I turned my face to the side blushing brightly, thankful that my hair was long enough to cover my face. Had he realized that I have been staring at him all night?

Regulus looked at me worriedly, “Are you alright Bells? You are turning red, you don‘t have a fever too do you?”

The rest looked up at me concerned, I put up my hands reassuringly, “I’m fine guys, just tired.”

I was quiet for the rest of the feast, not able to get my mind off of the non-eating Cullen’s.

Suddenly the food vanished and Dumbledore began his speech. I didn’t really listen, not until he mentioned about the new dangers in the forest, and that if anyone was bleeding they were to notify one of the staff immediately. This struck me as odd; why not just go to the hospital wing?

I watched Jacob and Remus curiously as their heads shot up at the words ’New dangers’ and as their expressions grew more grim with the words that followed. I was slightly confused at this point; Jacob wasadanger, but notdangers. Who or what were these new dangers and why do they seem to worry Remus and Jacob? It looks like I have some investigating to do

An- Ugh it's so cliché... well I think it is I'm really not sure.
