 Chapter 2: Twisted Turns
    It has been two days since the tragic night of his
father's death. Pidge had left the morning after he found out about the
incident. He had become the sweet young child pilot of the Voltron force
to his father's angel of death on the same night. He couldn't bear the
thought of what the funeral's going to be like so he left in a hurry to
leave the people in mourning. He didn't want to cause any more trouble
to his family; Pidge concluded he's been the worst thing to happen to them
since he first lived in Terra.
  
   &nbsp ; "Is this my punishment? One for taking advantage
of my new life?" Pidge thought looking out his bedroom window. It had been
very quiet this morning. The news of the death of Mr. Morreale had shocked
them into silence including the voltron force; he knew they all wouldn't
look at him the same way again.
    "If only you could hear me dad...I'd tell you how
sorry I was for hurting you." Pidge muttered glancing down at the little
songbird hanging on the branch of the willow tree. "You helped me fly high
into the sky but I made you fall..."
    "Pidge?" A soft voice whispered behind him
    He turned around to see Hunk leaning against the
doorframe, his hands dug deep into his jean pockets. His once usually joyful
face was blank with a streak of worry. He had never seen Pidge so depressed
before and he felt very bad for what he his going through.
    "Yes Chris?" Pidge mumbled in a dry voice.
     "Um...I came to tell you that Flora had called just
now. She was wondering how you are doing and all." Hunk replied,
     "What do you think?" Pidge muttered in sarcasm
    "Okay! Well…anyway. She said that she had postponed
her date to next week. It seems to me that she has some plans to take care
of." Hunk answered in a low tone.
    "Well hot diggity damn Hunkhead! I don't really need
to hear this right now. So go tell it to someone who cares because I am
currently unavailable." Pidge hissed facing back at the window.
    "Well...excuse me for caring!" Hunk scowled storming
out of the room slamming the door behind him.
    Pidge glances out in the window as Hunk was walking
out of the castle in a slouchy and pissed mood. He didn't mean to be rude
but the shadow of death has made him as cold as the wind outside. He knew
he'd eventually calm down someday.but he would never forgive himself for
the tragedy he had caused.
    "Sorry Hunk...the Pidge you once knew is gone. I
doubt he'd ever come back..."
    He rose up from his bed and walked thought the hallways
of the castle. It was so quiet you could hear a pin drop on the floor.
All of the servants and workers were silent like the dead including Koran.
    A few seconds later he ended up at the castle garden.
A place he often goes to when he feels like he needs cheering up. He sits
down by the large water fountain and looks at his reflection in the water.
A scarred mask of a cold-hearted warrior replaced the once happy child
face; one he had always hated.
    "Godammit...why must I suffer this fate?" Pidge hissed
slapping the face that stared before him in the clear shining water.
 He looks up at the trees to see two little doves cuddling up against
each other upon one of the willow branches. Pidge wished he was in Flora's
arms right now.but he just can't face anyone right now.at least not right
away.
    He walks back inside the castle in the control room
where Keith and the other were keeping an eye out on the universe as usual.
Pidge dragged himself over and props himself onto a chair and starts typing
onto the computer. One thing that could get everything off his mind for
a while.
    "Hello Pidge." Allura muttered raising her head up
from the dusty books "How was your sleep?"
    Pidge didn't bother to reply, he just continues to
type on the keyboard pretending that nothing's happened. Allura then turns
her face back to the books not wanting to get on his bad side talking to
him again.
    "He's so damn quiet it's creepy!" Lance whispered
to Keith.
     "Yeah well. He's going' through a hard time so I'd
say just let him be for now." Keith replied
     "Listen guys..." Pidge finally spoke "Don't you
have work to do? Then. I'd suggest you'd get at it."
    "We're just worried about ya that's all..." Hunk
mumbled softly, he knew that Pidge was in his calm but furious mood.
     "Well.stop! I don't want pity from anyone. Do you
all hear me?" Pidge hissed
    The icy tone sent long shiver down their spines.
It was never liked him to be so cold, death was making him this crude as
well as vulnerable. Making it easy for anyone with a dark heart to manipulate.
    "Come on…let's get going." Allura whispered.
    As they were leaving the control centre, an urgent
message for help popped up on the large communicator computer screen.
    "It's a message from Spaceport Narcius!" Keith exclaimed
frantically working on the keyboard.
    "VOLTRON FORCE!!" A young man's voice screamed whom
was Lt Mario "Zarkon and the Doom fleet is attacking
 Spaceport Narcius, we need help immediately!"
    "We are on our way!!" Allura replied to Lt Mario

    The robot lions flew through deep space with grace
as they hurried to the scene of battle. Most of the Voltron force was prepared
to face the bloodshed except for Pidge whom is still very uneasy about
being able to fight again.
    "Whoo hoo! Let's get those bastards!!" Lance said
riding his blazing red lion through the stars
     "You alright Pidge?" Hunk muttered through the computer
screen, Pidge only replied with a soft sigh.
  
     By the time they get to Spaceport Narcius, the Doom
fleet was swarming around the ship like wasps; over one quarter of the
facility was nothing but space junk.
    "There they are!" Allura said pointing towards the
large warship no other than the "Revenge".
     "Well well...If it isn't the valiant knights of
Voltron" A voice scowled through their communicators "Are you to ruin my
fun?"
     "Shut the hell up Lotor!" Keith growled, "No way
are we letting you take this place hostage!!"
    "Please Lotor...their is no need to attack this place...your
business is with us!" Allura said trying to persuade him to stop.
     "Only if you'll be my queen dearest Allura..." Lotor
sneered with a sly smile.
     "Like she's gonna fall for that trick...she may
be the princess but she is not STUPID!" Hunk scowled giving a cold glare.
     "Very well then..." Lotor mumbled "Haggar! Release
the Robeast!!"
    A hatch opens beneath the Revenge and a gigantic
three-headed wolf emerged. The beast was a hideous creation of scales,
spikes, claws and fangs it was the colour of blood and ebony.... Basically
it was a demon from hell.
    "Have fun kiddies!" Lotor smirked "Cerberus! Tear
them to bits!!"
    The large creature loomed toward them, its eyes glowing
with an evil rage, baring its razor ship teeth and extending its long claws.
The look on its face seems to say, "I am going to ENJOY this!"
    "Get into attack formation!" Keith said in his commanding
captain tone "Be careful of its three heads."
  
   &nbs p; The robot lions eventually lined up and attacked
the creature straight on, unfortunately though it hardly made a dent.
    "Let's try a Mega fireball!" Lance hollered as red
lion makes a large fiery laser at the beast but again it didn't even flinch.
     "Looks like we're gonna have to form Voltron to
destroy this robeast!" Hunk said gripping the reins of his yellow lion.
    Every one of the ships prepared to form the mighty
metal warrior Voltron but they were too slow compared to the quick agile
Cerberus. The wolf attacked them with triple lasers that formed in their
jaws, the weapon blasted them hard
    "Godammit!" Pidge hissed "It's too fast...how are
we gonna destroy it?"
    "I don't know...but we gonna have to think fast!!"
Lance said as Cerberus charged towards them, the lions tried to avoid the
collision but again it was too fast and Cerberus head butted them hard.
    "Let's try to form Voltron once more!" Allura said
to the others
    Again they tried to form Voltron but this time Cerberus
went into stealth mode and attacked them from behind, blasting them into
oblivion.
    "This is pathetic!" Pidge scowled, he flew green
lion over to where Cerberus now stands "Yo! Over here you bastard! Yeah
you! Want to beat up something'? Well...come and get me!!!"
    The robot speeds over to green lion, looking like
a dog chasing an alley cat. Pidge had a plan to kill Cerberus for good.
    "What the fuckin' hell is he doing!" Hunk screeches
"He's gonna kill himself!"
    What the others didn't know was that Pidge was leading
the robeast to an asteroid belt; he had a plan to destroy the beast.
    "He's following me? Good! My plan is working so far...."
Pidge thought concentrating on his piloting. A few second later he ends
up at a huge asteroid in front of him. "Now for the hard part...." Pidge
muttered, he started speeding up towards the large rock going about two
hundred meters a second...the speed is what's gonna destroy Cerberus "Here
we GO!!!"
    Pidge pulls the controls upwards in the last second,
flying vertically up the asteroid and over, tricking Cerberus to crash
into the asteroid but unfortunately...
    "What the?!" Pidge muttered noticing there was no
vibration from the crash. He turned the lion around to see there were no
remains of any kind of crash. The rocky surface was  the same as it
was before. This worried him.
    "Oh shit...." Pidge whispered, "Cerberus could be
anywhere...but where..."
    Suddenly he felt a hard impact from behind, Pidge
spun around to see that Cerberus was right behind him! He realized that
he used a vector jump to avoid crashing into the asteroid. The great beast
lifted its three heads and smashed them down on green lion making the robot
hit several nearby asteroids.
    Now the mighty Lion was severely damaged by the robeasts
vicious blows, the armour was twisted and torn; the engines were now in
pieces. It was so bad Pidge couldn't even move the green lion.
    "There he is!!" Allura screamed in horror as she
watches her comrade being crushed and bashed by the hellhound
 "Back off you son-of-a-bitch!" Hunk yelled flying towards the robeast
attempting to strike him but HE was hit by Cerberus's swinging tail.
    "Oh crap!" Pidge muttered in fear looking up at Cerberus
whom was pinning him and green lion down on the asteroid. He tries to work
the controls but they were saturated with so much electricity Pidge could
not lay a hand on them.
    The robeast raises its three heads again, energy
forming in there jaws forming and even larger laser called "Hell's Judgement".
The blazing beam blasted right through the centre of Green Lion and the
asteroid underneath.
    Pidge was spinning downwards faster and faster, the
metal now is ablaze with flames making the robot a speeding comet. He was
suddenly caught by the gravity from the planet below and was now falling
towards the atmosphere.
    "Hurry! Catch him before he crashes!" Keith hollered,
the rest of the team followed Keith heading towards Green Lion
     "He's going to fast!" Lance replied his lion ramming
at high speed
    The Voltron force frantically tries to catch up with
the lion comet but like Lance said he was too fast and Green Lion crashed
into the planet.
    "Oh God no...." Allura screeched "PIDGE!!!"
     "Come on let's go find him!" Keith said heading
towards the planet.

    Pidge pounded on the window of the Green Lion whom
was now in flames, the black smoke inside was stinging his eyes making
it hard for him to see the controls. He couldn't move his right leg very
well; he injured it badly when it crashed as well as his left arm that
was scarred with burns.
    "Shit! Where the hell is that switch?" Pidge muttered
squinting in the darkness, his hands were failing in the air searching
the controls for the switch for the hatch but unfortunately the switch
only made it open the door a couple of inches. He runs over to the door
and pounds on it hard. Still no go. He musters all of his strength in his
small body and rams his shoulder into the steel hatch. The door finally
gave way and Pidge falls down to the ground landing on his sore arm. He
screams in from the jolt of pain running up his arm.
    He finally gets up from the ground and runs as far
as he could from Green Lion, just before it exploded into a fiery inferno.
Pidge looked at the remains and bows his head. It was quite a pity when
something he worked with for so long had been destroyed within minutes.
He felt like a friggin' jinx.
    "Damn! My arm won't stop bleeding. I got to get to
a doctor and fast." Pidge moaned in agony. He then starts trotting towards
the woods looking for any sign of life. Unfortunately though it seems like
there wasn't any for miles but Pidge didn't gave up. He kept on moving
determined to find a place to heal himself. He was bleeding badly which
the scent caused the stir among some of the predators of the jungles including
the Grendles.
    "Oh no…don't tell me..." Pidge whispered when he
hears a high-pitched screech from the thick trees, swallowing hard as he
mentioned the name, "Grendles..."
    He stands still trying not to make another sound
but the only thing that'll lure them to prey is the smell of fresh cut
blood. In other words, Pidge was in deep trouble.
    Suddenly he hears a Grendle jump out of the bushes
and lunged at Pidge. Luckily he dodged out of harms way. He stared at the
horrendous reptile like creature leering at him with hungry eyes and licked
its dry scaly lips. It stretched out his claws and prepared to lunge at
Pidge again.
    "Oh fuck!! This is not my day!!" Pidge screeched
dodging the attack, he then starts running deeper into the woods but it
just made it worse. The sound of something running as well as the strong
scent of blood attracted more Grendles from the treetops and they too chased
after him now in a large pack.
    One of the Grendles managed to get a taste out of
him when it nipped him in the burned arm, more started to gain the upper
hand as they were tearing and biting at Pidge's limbs and torso. Soon the
pain was overbearing until it came to a point were he couldn't run anymore.
    "Help! Somebody HELLLLP!!!" Pidge screamed through
the trees he watched in horror as one of the Grendles landed on his face
and starting to claw at the skin, knocking the glasses of his face, luckily
he managed to whack the creature of his face. He screamed in pain when
he felt a sharp teeth bite down on his leg. He tried to get the Grendle's
jaw open but it was locked shut on his flesh, blood was oozing out his
wounds which was making the Grendles more excited and more aggressive.
Soon it was as if there was no hope left for Pidge but then..
  
   &nbsp ; Pidge suddenly heard a high-pitched scream and he
felt the jaw of the reptile released from his leg, he looks up to see that
it was the only thing left of the Grendle. The rest of it looked like it
was burnt to a crisp, almost as if it was torched with a flamethrower.
He then notices that the other Grendles were crouched down upon the ground
in fear almost as if they were facing their predator...even though they
are the most deadly things in the jungle. He weakly watches as the Grendles
were writhing in flames almost as if someone was using some sort of magic;
eventually most of the Grendles were charcoal except for the ones who retreated.
    He lays still unable to move in pain, he suddenly
hear the sounds of footsteps walking towards him, light and swift footsteps
upon the jungle floor. Then a hooded head appeared before him, its face
was covered and Pidge could hardly see any of the features of the person's
face. The mysterious stranger put a hand to his bloody face and looked
over his face in an interesting manner. It was almost as if that person
never met another human.
    Pidge's eyes felt very heavy, the extreme loss of
blood made him extremely weak; he could hardly even move his lips to speak.
The jungle surrounding him was now looking very blurry and it grew darker.
His heart was beating quite slowly and his body pulsed with pain. He moaned
loudly in agony when he felt the soft hands of the person laid on his chest.
    "Ugh...please help me..." Pidge whispered in a very
dry voice
    "It's alright...I am gonna help you." The stranger
muttered in a soft voice that sounded angelic and feminine "Just hang on..."
 Pidge was about to see the person's face as it was removing the hood
off its head, but the image in his eyes grew very blurry and his body collapse
as his mind went blank and was thrown into darkness. The last thing he
saw was a pair of gray eyes staring back at him, and strands of long white
hair hovering in the breeze...
