**********************Author's Notes************************
A little about Norse mythology before we start this, otherwise some of the story won't make sense. Loki is the trickster god of the Norse pantheon. One of his tricks was to cut off Thor's wife Sif's long blonde hair while she was sleeping. Which he later replaced with spun gold. (Right after Thor beat him silly) I thought it was a pretty good trick then treat. He also controls the shadow side of the psyche. You know, that dark part in all of us that no one really wants to acknowledge having. I'll be nice and stop this now before it turns into a lesson instead of a story chapter.

Blaze sighed heavily as she flopped down onto one of the benches in the garden. She had come back to the States to check on the kids and make sure everything was going smoothly with them. The three of them had been flopped on the sofa asleep when she had come in. Omi had opened one eye and smiled groggily at her before snuggling closer to Nagi and going back to sleep.
She smiled a little when she felt someone materialize behind her.
“Hi, Daddy,” she said, tilting her head back to look at him.
“Hey, baby,” he said, leaning forward and kissing her on the forehead. He moved around the bench and sat next to her. “What's the problem?”
“What makes you think something's bothering me?”
He looked at her dubiously. “Hello, control of the deeper psyche here.”
“I know, I know.” She sighed heavily.
“Is it the husbands?”
“Yes and no. Most of the problem is Chiro.”
Loki's eyebrows shot up. “Ahh. Still having problems with Yutaka temporarily bailing.”
“I know he has every right to be upset, Dad. It just worries me that he hasn't said anything to Honey about it. Which naturally kicks the mad scientist's brain into high panic gear because he's worked out every horrible scenario possible in his head already.”
“I can see where that would happen. So, what are you planning to do about it?”
“Lock them in a room where they can't phase out until they work through everything?” Blaze suggested.
“Not a bad idea,” Loki said thoughtfully. “But I think you've already got him thinking about doing the kiss and make up thing with Yutaka.”
“Gods I hope so. I hate fighting with Chiro. Odd that Honey and I don't fight.”
“It's just because he knows if he gives you that pathetic look you'll let him have whatever the hell he wants.”
“There is that. I don't know how much longer I can survive Chiro giving him the cold shoulder.”
“Well, you made it rather clear before you left that it has to stop. No one could ever accuse you of being subtle, dear. You get that from your mother.”
“Do you miss her?” Blaze asked, leaning her head against her father's shoulder.
“Every day. But I have you to remind me of her. And you know that nothing really dies.”
“I don't think Mom realized what she was getting herself into by going to the woods that night,” Blaze said with a laugh.
“Of course she did. She knew exactly what she wanted. She wanted you and so did I.”
“Aww. Thanks, Daddy. That's sweet.”
“I'm serious. You know how many merry begot children I have. But you were something different. I knew you were going to be something so incredible from the moment you were conceived.”
She pulled back a little and looked at him curiously. “What makes you say that?”
“Because you roared. None of my other children with a human mother had ever done that. There was such power from you in that first spark of life.”
“Really? I didn't know. I've heard you mention it about Fen, Jormund and Hel doing that at conception but you never mentioned it concerning me.”
“I probably should have told you sooner. Back to heavier bits of conversation. What else is on your mind aside from the husbands and the Trinity in there?”
“Speaking of those three, have any idea what's going on with Nagi and Omi's markings?”
“Sorry, no idea about that. I think Jeirn is doing a little outer edge research as we speak though.”
“I don't want to know. He did mention that he'd come across something strange.”
“Oh?”
“Yes. He said a woman he's never met has Shadow Song.”
Loki's lips twitched and he tried to hide the grin that threatened. Blaze felt the shift in him and looked at her father curiously.
“What?”
“Nothing.”
“Daddy,” Blaze said warningly. “What are you hiding?”
“What? Can't I smile?”
“Not like that you can't.”
“Like what?”
“The last time I saw you smile like that you'd cut off Sif's hair.”
