Weiss Kreuz Fan Fiction / Yami No Matsuei Fan Fiction ❯ Red Shaman ❯ WTF? ( Chapter 76 )
[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]
“Aya, what do you think she has planned other than hiding us out for the moment?” Yohji asked when they were in the room they shared at the Red Shaman compound.
“I honestly couldn't begin to tell you what goes through that woman's head. Frankly, I'm not certain I want to know most days.”
“You aren't happy about being sent into hiding, are you,” Yohji said more as a statement than a question.
“Not by any stretch of the imagination,” Aya said tersely.
“Well,” Yohji said, coming behind Aya and hugging him. “You could think of it as a restful vacation with me.”
Aya laughed. “Time with you is rarely restful.”
Yohji smiled and let his hands roam over Aya's chest and stomach. “Think of it, love. Beautiful estate, no worries, no flowers to arrange, no fangirls, no dark beasts to deal with,” he said, punctuating each point he made with a kiss along Aya's shoulders or neck.
“Think of the swamps, people we considered comrades trying to kill us, Star babysitting.”
Yohji huffed in exasperation, pulling away from him. “You certainly know how to kill a mood, Aya.”
“Call it a gift. I need a shower,” he said, running one hand through his hair then starting to walk toward the bathroom. “Are you coming?” Aya said over his shoulder, his expression spoke of a plethora of carnal delights to be had if Yohji followed him.
A slow smile spread across Yohji's face as he moved to trace Aya's steps. “Not yet.”
Schuldig woke slowly from his induced sleep. He felt stiff and sore but not horribly so. He could move freely and still function.
He rolled over and collided with a pair of long legs. He let his gaze follow those legs he knew so well up to one of the faces he loved. Crawford had his glasses off, head leaned back against the headboard, eyes closed. If Schuldig were being honest with himself he would have had to say that Crawford looked like he'd gone through all the levels of hell and back. But his skin was starting to get some color to it rather than the unhealthy grey pallor he had left the hospital with.
“Brad?”
“You were expecting little red riding hood perhaps?”
Schuldig snorted and propped himself up on an elbow. “More like the big bad wolf. What are you doing here?”
“Skye asked me to stay until you woke up. Goddess wanted her downstairs. Probably to help make plans to remedy the situation that's ensued.”
“What situation?”
“The one involving all of us being hunted by various former employers,” Crawford said, rubbing his eyes tiredly before putting on his glasses again.
“How do you know about that?”
“I do see things,” Crawford said with a small laugh.
“Not when you've been dead for half an hour and had a complete change of blood you shouldn't,” Schuldig said.
“I hardly think visions are particular about the condition of the precog at the time of the vision.”
Schuldig was quiet for a moment. “I didn't ask you to.”
“I'm aware of that.”
“Why?”
“You know very well why.”
“That was a stupid thing to do.”
“Probably.”
“I'll yell at you later for being and idiot,” Schuldig said, settling his head on Crawford's thigh.
“I expect nothing less of you,” Crawford said with a sigh. “You're going to make me work for this, aren't you.”
“Of course. Wouldn't be nearly as much fun if I didn't,” Schuldig said sleepily. “If you start bringing me candy and flowers though I'm putting you in one of Farf's old straightjackets.”
Ghost woke to Omi and Nagi's whispered voices. She smiled a little and tried to sit up, recognizing that she was in her own room.
“Guys, why are we here?” she asked.
“Ghost!” both boys said, hurrying to her side.
“I'm fine. Stop worrying. I just feel like I've been run over by a truck. Repeatedly. What happened?”
“You don't remember?” Omi asked.
Ghost frowned. “I remember tracing the frequencies of the barrier, then nothing.”
“You were hit by an electrical charge from the barrier,” Omi said.
“Hmm,” Ghost mused. “We weren't expecting something like that.”
“No, we weren't,” Nagi said grimly. “It's a good thing we had help.”
Ghost's eyebrows shot up. “From whom? I couldn't get through to any of the Red Shaman team.”
“It wasn't one of them.”
“Who was it?”
“We're not exactly sure. But she walked through the electrical charges like they were nothing but air,” Nagi said.
“Interesting. I wonder who it was,” she mused.
“No idea,” Omi said. “But she looks a lot like you.”
Blaze was pacing the war room. Pausing every few turns to glare at the quiet and composed woman now seated in one of the chairs.
Blaze finally stopped pacing and braced her hands on the table, looking directly at Gwynedd. “Explain to me how a child who's been missing for over two thousand years ends up as a member of my household only a decade ago.”
