Chapter 10

Omi ignored Schuldig's statement, “Manx sent an email, she said two things. One that while we are developing our powers,” Omi's voice twisted on the word, “we may experience some personality changes and two she said we could trust Schwarz.” Again the sneer.

“Personality change how?” It was the first words that Ken had spoken for the morning and Aya noticed that as he spoke his eyes glanced towards Yohji and then away, as if he was afraid of what he might see.

“She didn't say.”

“What the hell is the point of telling us then?”

“You know you could always ask me,” Schuldig drawled.

Weiss as one turned to look at the German assassin who stared at them in return.

Finally Aya snapped, “Well?”

“You didn't ask,” the German replied.

There was another minute of silence, Aya was seriously contemplating getting his katana now and putting an end to the German's misery.

“Personality changes how?” Ken asked each word clearly enunciated, his voice tense.

Schuldig didn't reply. Nagi rolled his eyes and hit Schuldig on his telepathically, at least that's what Weiss assumed he did as the German's head snapped forward.

“Ow, you didn't have to hit so hard Nagi.”

“Stop playing with them and just answer.”

“But they didn't ask nicely,” the German whined.

“Schuldig.”

“Fine, it's not my fault the members of Weiss aren't morning people.”

“Schuldig stop stalling.”

“Okay so basically it's like going through puberty again.”

Aya glared, he couldn't believe that was the German's idea of an explanation, but it became increasingly more obvious as the seconds ticked away that telepath wasn't planning on saying any more.

Nagi smacked Schuldig again.

“Ow! Okay, okay already. Sheesh. Puberty, you know body changing, developing. Well it's the same sort of thing except this time it's mostly your brain developing and it's going to cause not exactly personality changes, but moodiness and moments of irrationality, doing things you'd never do. That's what Kudoh is for.”

Another moment of silence, another invisible smack.

“Ow Nagi, what the hell I was just catching my breath. Crawford didn't send you to control Weiss, he sent you to control me.”

Nagi smirked.

“That bastard, I don't need to be controlled. I can't be controlled!”

Smack.

“Alright sheesh, teenagers see what I mean about moodiness.”

Smack.

Schuldig just glared, but didn't verbally retaliate. “Kudoh is meant to keep you guys in line. He knows the rest of you guys well enough to know when you are being unlike yourselves and he's supposed to theoretically point it out to you guys so that you learn some control. The rest of you can't do it because you'll probably be egging each other on.”

Smack.

“Egging each other on unintentionally. We are not really sure how it works but one out of control talent seems to be like a whirlpool or tornado it sucks in others.”

Yohji nodded, it kinda made sense. Kinda. And it would explain Ken yesterday, Ken's talent being out of control would cause a change in behaviour. So it wasn't Ken's fault. Yohji sighed in relief, he could forgive the brunette now, and not throttle him, and not feel so dirty.

Aya standing so close to Yohji could feel the tension ease out of the wire wielding assassin, paying so much attention to Yohji Aya missed the flame-haired assassin tense.

*It's time to leave Nagi*

*Why we just got here, you haven't started training them yet*

*Later. We need to leave now.*

*Okay*

Schuldig forced a smirk on to his face, “Well that's enough training for now. Sayonara suckers.”

“Training!” Ken sputtered. Nothing was accomplished except that he didn't feel as guilty or he wouldn't feel as guilty about Yohji just as soon as he apologised. He could tell the elder assassin had already forgiven him, but he needed to make it right. Yohji was too kind-hearted, too willing to forgive.

“Wait, why use a talent to teach out of control talents then?” Omi asked.

But it was too late, Schuldig was already out of the door. Nagi turned, “Who else could?” he asked rhetorically.

*We are supposed to have shields.* Schuldig answered in his head, Omi stiffened unused to this form of communication.
