Weiss Kreuz Fan Fiction ❯ Broken ❯ Figure.09 ( Chapter 5 )
Author's note: Hi guys!! I really hope that you did get more sleep than I did for the past few days because you really have got to read this chapter very carefully! And most of all you have to read between the lines, I've included a great deal of information about what actually happened to SOMEBODY (let's call him Mr. Redhead ;), but most of them are not that obvious! You have been warned!! ;)
Many, many thanks to ko-chan, my best friend, without her constant support and encouragement I would never have finished this, this really was very hard and complicated to write.. Thank you!!
Disclaimer: None of the boys belong to me; they all belong to somebody else! I'll return them as neat and well mannered as I found them..

LIMBUS, n., lat. "border, edge"
1. (schol. Theol.) An extra mundane region where certain classes of souls were supposed to await the judgment.
2. Any real or imaginary place of restraint or confinement, a prison.
As far from help as limbo is from bliss.
-- Shak.
Somewhere in a Japanese city a man was sitting in front of his computer. His office was a large room, situated on the top floor of a huge building right in the middle of a busy, crowded metropolis. The walls were a clinical white with almost no pictures at all, the only ornament to be found was a simple writing; small, elegant black letters had been painted onto the wall directly above his head, discretely spelling the word LIMBUS behind him. Two bookshelves were standing on either side of his desk and a leather couch with two chairs and a small table served as a comfortable lounge in one corner of the room. A TV-set was placed opposite the couch, though it was turned off at the moment.
The man at the desk seemed to be in his mid-forties. He was wearing a dark suit, dark glasses and his hair was black and short. His face had noble features, but his current expression was one of annoyance as he stared at the computer screen in front of him, scrolling through a long text. One of his hands was lying flat on top of the desk and he was drumming his fingers impatiently. The room was quiet and apart from the rhythm of his fingers and the soft humming of the computer no sound was to be heard. He didn't wince when suddenly a shrill noise cut through the silence of the room, he kept his gaze on the screen and calmly picked up the receiver, speaking in a soft voice, "Have you found him?"
The voice on the other end of the line sounded a little out of breath, but he could tell that its owner was trying to get his breathing back under control. "Yes sir, we have. He is right where you said he would be. Shall we take him in?"
His lips spread into a feral smile and he scrolled back to the top of the page where the photo of a red-haired young man was shown. He was wearing a dark shirt with a LIMBUS-imprint and had his arms crossed in front of his chest, staring defiantly into the camera. The man studied the expressive green eyes intently for a moment, then his grin went even wider and he shook his head slightly, almost growling back at the other man. "No, leave him there for a moment… Let him enjoy this feeling of security for a time. But keep an eye on him… and if he does anything stupid you know what to do."
"Yes sir!" He could almost see the man on the other end of the line salute to the cell phone he was using and cut the line before he got a chance to add anything. Keeping his gaze on the screen he removed his glasses, revealing completely white eyes, without pupils. He continued to study the picture in front of him for a moment, and then concentrated on the text that was written next to it:

His gaze lingered on the last note for a moment and the smile that had been playing at the corners of his lips grew broader. After a moment he leaned back in his chair and stared at the monitor, then closed his eyes in concentration. The cursor started flashing suddenly and although he did not touch the keyboard a new entry appeared on the screen, following the "additional note". It read:
"On return subject is immediately to be taken to Instructor in charge of training, signed: Dante."
Immediately after the document was saved the screen went black and he opened his eyes again, staring at the wall for a moment, his white eyes glowing softly in the sudden darkness.
