'Aya..'
In the weeks to follow, the real Aya would learn of her brother's profession, and of his supposed death when the building collapsed upon them all. He left a few things for her to keep with her after all that had happened; her earrings, a few of her favorite things that he'd gotten for her after the house explosion, things that had been saved, and a necklace that very few of them had seen on his person before. A sword, with a blooming rose twined around it.
After their injuries had healed and things settled in their personal lives, they all parted ways, for now; Omi to become Persia, and the others to attempt a real life for now. They got together on a few occasions since then, but after what happened at the Koua Academy, they parted ways, seemingly for good this time. A decade and a half, and another tragedy, later, they met up again, once more for revenge on a killer.
"Hey, Aya, you okay?" Ken appeared suddenly over Omi's shoulder, resting a hand on Ran's arm now, concern awash on his face.
All of them had changed a great deal since Weiß disbanded, both physically and mentally at this point. Ken had grown his chestnut hair to his mid-back, and it was tied into a loose ponytail at the nape of his neck, a few shorter wisps of it framing his more mature, masculine face.
Omi as well had changed, his features no longer so boyish and more handsome, his dirty-blonde hair cut shorter and spiked up naturally, without the use of gel or mousse at all to keep it like that. His eyes still retained their youth, however were no longer as innocent-seeming as they had been in the past.
In the past seventeen years they hadn't kept in contact with the red-head, but he was still closer to being family than anyone else. Neither of the two younger Weiß were surprised by the fact that Aya hadn't married or had another family after he'd left Weiß. After what had happened two his two families since birth, both his biological one being killed and Weiß disbanding, they knew that he likely couldn't take anything more happening to someone he was close to, someone like Aya-chan.
"Hn. Any leads on who killed her?" He turned his gaze away from the two of them, looking off to the side, to where his sister's grave was. The funeral was being held as the spoke, but Ran didn't dare to show himself there, since he was thought to be long dead now.
"We have no idea who killed her, but we do know that the people that killed her didn't find whatever it was they were hoping to find. Her house was searched, though not as thoroughly as it could have been..Either they're amateurs or they were looking for something big." With this, Omi paused for a moment before continuing on in a softer voice, sounding as confused as he looked as he continued, "My guess is that latter; all the photo albums were taken and looked through, and there are pictures missing. I think they're looking for another person, but there was nobody living with Aya-chan. She only lived in a one-bedroom apartment.."
Before Ran could open his mouth to ask, Ken cut him off, knowing full well the question forming on the elder's lips, "Her friends are fine, there's no sign of any of them being attacked or followed. And we're keeping tabs on them; no one is even following them. We have no idea who they're looking for.." Ran simply nodded and watched as the people left the gravestone of his beloved sister, his frown suddenly darkening as he saw a man linger behind to rest two roses; one a forget-me-not, the other dark crimson rose in full bloom. After standing there for a moment longer, the figure left, his head bowed.
"Aya-kun?" Omi's voice cut through Ran's thoughts and he shrugged the younger man's arm off of his shoulder, going to the gravestone and resting his own crimson rose ontop of the grave, over the other man's roses. Omi and Ken caught up to him and, after allowing him a moment of silence, Omi spoke up once more, "Aya-kun...Ran. Nagi has given me word that Schuldig wishes to help us. Don't ask me why; I wasn't aware he even knew of this, but he told Nagi that he was to be involved in helping us find out who did this to your sister."
There was yet another moment's pause before Ran tore his gaze from the gravestone and looked over at Takatori Mamoru, formerly Tsukiono Omi, "Alright. Let him help, but I will be the one to kill the monster that did this to my imouto."
I'm taking into account Gluhen, but I'm ignoring Side B since I myself haven't had a chance to read all of it; I've read volumes one and two, and have access to three and four, but haven't read them yet. This is 17 years after Gluhen, which is two years after the first series. So here's how this goes; Omi, 17 in the series, 36 here. Ken, 19 in the series, 38 here. Aya/Ran, 21 in the series, 40 here. And Yohji, who may or may not be making an appearance, 23 in the series, 42 here. Aya-chan was 16 when put into the coma, 18 in the series, and therefore 37 when she died.
Schwarz will obviously be making an appearance, so I'll add their ages as well. Nagi here will be 34, Schu is 41, Crawford is 46, and though I'm not sure Farf will be appearing at all, he'd be 39.
As for the roses laid down at the grave, there is a reason to them. Dark crimson roses mean, in the Victorian Flower Language, mean mourning, and one in full bloom means "I truly love you. Simplicity." And forget-me-nots mean true love and memories. There is a reason for both of these flowers and their placement there, so..yeah. And that man there is there for a very damn good reason. (I got the information for these flowers from a website; if you'd like the link, please email me.)
Anyways, once again, please leave your reviews, they'll be most appreciated. Thanks once again!

Ran and the rest of Weiß pulled themselves from the water, all weak and more than a little water-logged at this point. They were looking around to be sure that Schwarz hadn't followed them out of the collapsing building, and though they weren't around, Weiß knew that, of all people, Schwarz were most likely to survive something like that. As three of them looked around still, wary of Schwarz, the eldest noticed something was off with their stoic leader. He stared off towards the city lights, staring at something that none of them really understood just then. Until a single word was murmured and they all looked up, seeing three familiar figures.'Aya..'
In the weeks to follow, the real Aya would learn of her brother's profession, and of his supposed death when the building collapsed upon them all. "Aya-kun!" Omi- no, Mamoru, ran towards his old friend, hugging him tightly for a moment before pulling back and looking at him questioningly. He could see that the same cold, aloof swordsman was still there, underneith the weary, drawn man that they were seeing now; his hair slightly past his shoulders looking ragged almost, and his normally vibrant eyes seeming almost dull as he mourned. The news of his sister's murder affected him greatly; first he lived only for her, then he lived knowing that he helped to save her. Now, he had to live to avenge her murder, 17 years after she awoke from her coma. From the look on his face, the rage in his eyes, it was worth coming back from his 'retirement'. He would not let anyone get away with destroying the last link in his family."Hey, Aya, you okay?" Ken appeared suddenly over Omi's shoulder, resting a hand on Ran's arm now, concern awash on his face.
