Title: Rain
Team: Schwarz
Characters: Nagi, Farfarello
Words: 100 (+quote)
Book: Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton

The tropical rain fell in drenching sheets, hammering the corrugated roof of the clinic building, roaring down the metal gutters, splashing on the ground in a torrent.

Nagi stepped away from the window, ignoring the red liquid that splattered over his shoulder and onto the damp surface. The clinic was coated with the stuff, so one more drop wouldn’t matter. Perhaps, later, they could open the windows and door to let the rain wash away the carnage.

Nagi walked through the small clinic, ignoring Farfarello as he stabbed another doctor. The other doctors and their assistants were dead, carved up by the hand of a madman. Nagi forced down a smile and finally met Farfarello’s eye.

“It’s raining.”

“God weeps.” Farfarello replied. Nagi merely nodded, humoring him.

Title: Ken’s Morning
Team: Schwarz
Character: Ken
Words: 100 (+quote)
Book: Of Human Bondage by W. Somerset Maugham

The day broke gray and dull. This did nothing to detour Omi’s good mood. It never did. Ken watched as Omi bounced into the kitchen, fixed himself breakfast, ate it, and zoomed into the flower shop. It made Ken sleepy watching it.

Yawning, Ken poured himself a cup of coffee. Precious coffee. He barely noticed Aya entering the room. This wasn’t a surprise. The man tended to sneak everywhere he went, like he was in constant assassin mode.

Ken blinked stupidly as Aya left as quiet as he came. Ken yawned once more. By the time Yohji showed up, he was fast asleep on the table.

Title: Mother and Son
Team: Schwarz
Characters: Crawford, Schuldig
Words: 100 (+quote)
Book: The Kitchen God’s Wife by Amy Tan

Whenever my mother talks to me, she begins the conversation as if we were already in the middle of an argument.

It was strange, Crawford decided. He hadn’t seen his mother in at least fourteen years. For all he knew she was dead. Yet, there she was. Glaring at him and adjusting her glasses; arms crossed and dress suit in pristine white.

Schuldig snickered from behind him.

“Mother-”

“Have you no decency?” She demanded.

“Mother-” Crawford knew it was a lost cause. Her eyes glinted, almost as though she knew what he was going to say.

“Like mother, like son.” Schuldig grinned. Crawford gritted his teeth. His mother looked at him expectantly. This was going to be a very long day.
