Weiss Kreuz Fan Fiction ❯ Insanity Darkness ❯ Chapter 5
Chapter 5
For some reason, it was incredibly surreal for Aya to wake up with an amazing headache to the rather nice smell of breakfast being made. What made it worse was the fact that once his eyes opened, he was assaulted by a bright blue color that was suppose to be the wallpaper. He groaned, and ran a hand through his red hair, wincing as he found a lump.
'What happened last night?' he wondered, memory still running a few hours late. 'Where the hell am I?' His thought process was interrupted by a loud thud, and a younger boy's voice breathing out a choice curse.
"I know you're up!" a fluty voice chirped out. "You aren't exactly very quiet, Omi. So stop trying for the door, and have breakfast. You too, Aya. If you don't eat, that headache will only get worse."
Aya heard Omi sputter out a phrase he knew that the boy had to have learned from Youji. Slowly, he sat up from the bed, trying to get his thought process back in order. He jumped, and reached for his not-there katana when a girl stuck her head into the room, her white blonde hair tousled with sleep.
"Just a warning," she told him, "you aren't going to work today. And if you want to wash the blood out of your hair-I'm sorry that Schu wasn't very careful-you're going to have to wait." She sighed as Aya growled, his memory finally caught up. "And don't try to kill me while my back is turned, or in the shower, or anything. My name is Michiel, you're laying on a bed in the safe house SZ rented for me, so you can't leave, and you better stop thinking of ways to kill me or I'll have to restrain you." She looked over her shoulder. "That goes to you too, Omi." Michiel turned back to Aya. "Breakfast is sorta limited, I'm sorry. My idea of cooking is anything that can go 'ding' in the microwave. Henceforth, there are no knives in this house, and I'd like to see you try to hurt someone with those plastic spoons and forks I have."
Aya stood shakily, glaring at the tall girl. "Shi-ne..."
"Hey, lucky me, I actually know that one." She smiled at him, then pulled her head back. A minute later, Michiel stuck her head back into the room, her hair even more mussed. "Oh, and Omi will need an ice pack." Michiel pulled back again, and closed the door.
The redhead just stood there, glaring at the closed door as if it would let him out. "Damn you, Schwarz." He opened it, and noticed Omi slowly sitting up, holding his jaw.
"She has one mean right hook," was all Omi would say about it. "I looked around before. There isn't even an outlet for a computer here. I think that she thought this one through."
"So, we're basically prisoners here, right?" Aya snarled, looked down at the ever-so-tempting door. He started down the hallway, only to be caught by Omi's hand.
"Don't try it, Aya. I bruised my butt trying to get out that door."
Someone started knocking softly on the other side of the door. From the bathroom, Michiel started a line of curse words as she fumbled to turn the water off. Aya and Omi listened, in spite of themselves, with awe as the girl moved through English and Spanish phrases alike. Steam spilled out as Michiel raced out of the bathroom, her long hair a frizzy mess, and only barely covered by a large towel. "Coming, coming," she muttered at the closed door, and pulled it open. "Is it a requirement that you Schwarz members absolutely have to knock on a door when that person is in the shower? Get in here, boy, I'm freezing my tush off."
Nagi obeyed the annoyed girl, his lips twitching with the need to grow into a rarely used smile. "Crawford sent me over to watch our victims," the boy informed her.
"Shouldn't you be in school?" Michiel help up a hand. "Never mind. You watch them, and try to make Omi and Aya eat, would ya? I'm going to wage war on my hair."
Nagi's lips finally fell into a small smile. "He was right," he said to himself. "Last night didn't show her true personality." He turned to the Weiss members, and his face cooled again. The three spent the next few minutes in uncomfortable silence, waiting for one to even twitch wrong.
Aya frowned, the floor under him starting to slide sideways. Pain started to crawl up his arm, and his hair seemed somehow redder than usual.
"What's wrong, Abyssinian?" Nagi asked snidely. "The lump Schuldig gave you making itself known again?"
Aya turned a fuzzy Fujimiya Death Glare on the brown haired boy. "Shut... up..." And his own tresses seemed to get longer...
"Aya, you alright?" Omi whispered urgently as the elder Weiss member swayed on his feet. "This isn't..."
The hold on consciousness that Aya held by nails and teeth finally slipped, and his violet eyes rolled up into his head as his body crumpled up on the floor.
"AYA!"

"Damn it, get to the door, I am freezing, and I need Schuldig!" Michiel slammed her fist into the door again. "Open up the damned door!"
Finally, an orange head peeked through the now open door. "Michi...?"
It didn't escape her notice that Schuldig was only wearing a pair of sweat pants. "Get real clothing on, don't call me Michi, and come with me. Something's happened, and I need a stronger telepath than I am."
Schuldig blinked sleepily at the girl. "Uh, yeah. Sure. By the way, what's up with your hair?"
"Frizz. Get. Moving!"
The German yawned, then mumbled out, "Sure, whatever," as he shut the door.
Michiel stared dumbly at the closed door, and shivered. "Damn. And if it starts snowing..." A fat snowflake landed on her nose, and she sneezed. "That wasn't a dare!" the girl wailed at the sky.
The door opened again, and Crawford looked blearily at her. "Michiel... what's going on?"
"You're the pre-cog. Guess!" she snarled at him. "I have no idea what the hell has happened, and his gift's strong enough to block my pathetic attempts at telepathy!"
Crawford pushed his glasses up his nose. "Aya'll be fine. Unfortunately."
Michiel glared at him. "Thank you for caring," she sneered. "You coming along, or will you spend the rest of the morning in a post-sex daze?"
"Michiel..." It was a warning.
"I have no time for this," she shot back. "Are you coming, or what?"

Schuldig rubbed his eyes again, trying to wipe the last bit of the sex fog out of his head. "So, a Weiss member just collapses here, and you leave Nagi alone with one conscious and one unconscious enemy?" Crawford asked as the German yawned.
"I took a gamble, I know," Michiel growled. "But he's stronger than I am. And I am hoping that I won't walk into a bloody mess because he's ripped them apart telekinetically..."
Nagi sighed as the four came into sight. "No, while that would be fun, I didn't want somebody that works for SZ mad at me," he told them. "I got to do that, though."
Snickers pealed out of Michiel's mouth before she could stop them. "Well, you got Omi to eat, at least." The boy in question glared her, fighting Nagi's telekinetic power as a spoon dipped again into the oatmeal, and demanded entrance to his mouth.
"Well, you did say get Omi and Aya to eat..."
Crawford broke in smoothly. "Where is Aya, anyway?"
Schuldig opened the door to one of the doors before the young Schwarz member could answer. "Hey, follow the stressed thoughts." His own face twisted in pain. "Damn... what is that?"
"That's why I brought you in," Michiel told him quietly. "I couldn't find out, and he's getting worse. Schu, if he goes insane, SZ gets exactly what they wanted. Please, find out what's going on."
The German didn't take a step forward. "I wouldn't be the one to help him." He looked over to Michiel, his jade eyes shadowed with pain. "After all, I'm just a telepath. Brad would be able to teach him to keep it under control."
Michiel blinked, and pushed a strand of hair out of her face. "What?"
