YojixAya (KenxOmi)
Insignificant: That I'm Significant In The World
Yoji walked back to fetch his car slowly. He had a lot of thinking to do, and that was always a problem with him. Well, not really, that's just what people believed about him, what he let them believe. It was easier to let people think less of you to produce a greater image. At least that's what he told himself. Whatever. That was not the issue here. It was Mission: Find Present. The present had been found, and was in the process of being aquired, but exactly how he was going to get it was going to be…difficult. It was what he wanted to give Aya, exactly what he wanted to give him, but the conditions of how he was going to get it was the problem.
Yoji lit up a cigarette, helping him think. He looked up at the sky, which was a foggy grey. It was starting to snow, the small flakes not quite melting when they hit the ground. It was going to be a snow filled, Americanized Christmas. He didn't mind so much, despite it being cold Yoji liked the snow. It reminded him of his Mom in America. Too bad he couldn't go visit.
He dropped his finished cigarette to the ground, stubbing it out with the toe of his boot. Yoji glared at it. This was supposed to be easy! Well, not easy, but easier than this crap. He returned back to the parking garage, hopping in his car and headed back to the flower shop. He decided that he was going to talk it over with Aya. The man was smart enough that he would have figured something out by now, and he would of course leave out the details that Aya couldn't quite know about yet, but he would tell him some of it. If Aya found out about any of his plotting and Yoji hadn't told him, ohhh he'd be in deep shit. Aya would first of all, dump him, then kill him slowly. He drove home, not quite liking the decision, but it was the best he had.
***
They had closed up shop, Ken and Aya. Omi had run off inside, declaring that he was going to start dinner, even though it was Aya's night to cook. The said read head was in the process of finishing up the last few closing bits to the shop, when Yoji arrived home. Aya would have sighed, but Ken was in the room and he might have noticed. He hung up his apron, and went to meet Yoji in his room.
He passed by Omi who turned, “Aya-kun, dinners almost done. Go tell Yoji-kun for me, please?” Aya just nodded as he walked past.
Aya knocked on the blonds door. “It's open.” Was announced from inside. He opened the door and stepped inside Yoji's room, closing the door behind him. He kept repeating to himself that this was what's best for them all, but he still didn't want to do it.
Yoji looked over at him and smiled. “You don't have to knock, silly. You're welcome in my room any time, okay?” Yoji set a bag down on his bed and walked over to where Aya was standing, giving him a gentle hug. “I missed you.” He kissed Aya's neck.
“I think we should take a break.”
At first Yoji didn't move. Then he loosened his hold on Aya and looked down at him. “Sorry?”
“I think we should take a break.”
Yoji's grin wavered. “Yes I got that. I don't really think that Ken and Omi would appreciate us going away without notice though.”
Aya could feel himself starting to shake. “No Yoji. From each other. I think that we should take a break from seeing each other.” He put in a great deal of effort to make sure that his voice didn't waver. Yoji, however, did. His eyes widened. He looked at Aya in what appeared to be disbelief. “Aya…what are you talking about? Why?”
“Just stop it. I know what you're doing. You should have just said something and I would have understood.” Aya glared up at Yoji from underneath his bangs. He was angry, Yoji had used him. “Did you enjoy playing with me?”
“Aya, sweetie, I have no idea what you're talking about.” Yoji tried to put his hand on Aya's shoulder, but he slapped it away. “All your sneaking around, your lies, I'm sick of it. I'm done playing your game.”
Yoji glared down, slightly less harsh, bothered that Aya would think of him like that. “Aya I'm not using you, I never did. Maybe if you didn't act like you had a stick up your ass all the time, you'd stop-“
Aya shoved him backwards. “I refuse to be degraded by a whore like you.”
Yoji was about to hit him, but decided against it. He wouldn't sink to Aya's level. “Fine. You wanna' go on a break? Fine. Be my guest.”
Aya just made an angry noise and stomped out of Yoji's room. He sat down on his bed and lit a cigarette, releasing a breath he didn't even know he'd been holding. Well that could have gone…better. “Che…”
Whatever. Aya was always pissy, at least he could carry out his plan now. Even if Aya was still pissed at him when it came time to give him the gift, he could make him feel guilty over it. Yoji pulled his cellphone out of his pocket and put in a number. He waited until the female voice picked up at the other end.
“Hay Koio, it's me Yoji. Listen about that deal, I'll do it.” He listened half heartedly as she rambled off something seemingly important. “Reservations at seven? Alright. I'll see you then. Ja.” He shut his phone, and continued to smoke, sending angry vibes Aya's way. The man was insufferable, but he couldn't live without him. Everything would be fine, Yoji would apologize, Aya would cave and accept, he'd get the stick fucked out of his ass by Yoji, and all would be right in the world again. He sighed and flopped down on his comfortable bed, deciding that he'd go down for dinner later, Aya probably wouldn't even bother to go. He'd lock himself up in his room, or in their training room, or leave and not tell anyone where he was going or when he'd be back, and god forbid he answer his phone.
Yoji snuffed out his fag in the ashtray. It would work itself out, it always had a way of doing so. For his sanity, it just had to.
