Yoji had made quick work of most of the presents. He had found Omi's and Ken's right away, and had even managed to find a couple for Aya…but not The Gift. He had started his search two weeks ago, and had thought about what he was going to give him for almost half a year, but he still couldn't find it. It was like trying to find a needle in a haystack. No, Yoji thought to himself, like trying to find water in the desert…or sand in the arctic. But that wasn't important now. He had only a couple days left, and he had searched through almost half of Tokyo, coming up with nothing. He let out an angry noise of frustration, which scared off the girl who was ogling him.
`I'm going to kill myself before I find this stupid present.' Could it be possible that The Yoji Kudou, Sex On Legs, the man who'd been able to unlatch a girls bra with just a look (I kid you not), was unable to find one simple gift? Never! He would search and not stop searching until he was victorious!
Or at least until all the shops closed.
He sighed. “This sucks…”
“Is there something wrong, sir?”
Yoji turned his head, and noticed the girl that was ogling him earlier had braved her fear and returned, and was now staring up at him. she had long straight black hair, about waist length. Her eyes were a bright blue, innocent. She was fairly tall, as girls go, but still at least a foot shorter than Yoji himself. She was cute, not sexy or beautiful, but cute, and appeared to be of age. Yoji smiled back, remembering that she had asked him a question. “Nothing wrong here doll, just trying to find a gift.”
“Oh, well is there anything in particular? Maybe I can help?” Her eyes beamed up at him. Well, okay, maybe not so innocent as he had first assumed. Yoji raised an eyebrow. “Think you can help?”
She smiled even bigger. “I can try. That's what this time is all about right?” She latched onto his wrist, pulling him towards an apparently important direction. “I know someone who owns a specialty store. I'm sure we can find your friend something there!” Yoji had a feeling that he was going to regret this, but having nothing better to do, and no better ideas of where to go, he let himself be dragged along.
Twenty minutes of nonstop walk and his kidnaper, who's name he learned to be Koio, talking his ear off, they arrived at wherever it was she had found so important. And she wasn't wrong. The moment they got there, Yoji looked into the shop and saw something that mad his breath catch in his throat. He froze, not hearing any of the words Koio was saying to him.
“Hay…Yoji? Are you okay?” She shook his shoulder slightly before she was picked up and spun around. Yoji set her down, kissing her on the cheek. “Koio, you found absolutely the right gift! I am in your debt.”
She just smiled and drug him into the store.

“Thank you, come again!”
Omi smiled and waved as the customer left. The store was now empty, and he could go back to talking with Ken. He sat down next to his love, leaning against his side. He admired the arrangement Ken was currently working on. It was good, very good in fact. It was nowhere near Aya's standards, mind you, but it was probably one of the best Ken had ever done. He was proud of him, and voiced his opinion.
Ken just smiled. “Thanks Omi. Now I understand all the grueling work Aya goes through to make his look nice.” Followed by a short peck on the cheek. Omi's smile disappeared at the mention of the redheads name. He glanced over at Aya, who was currently sweeping the floor, a much deeper scowl on his face than normal. Omi could tell that Yoji being gone so much was effecting him. Aya had begun to loosen up when his and Yoji's relationship had started. He had been more friendly with customers, even smiling every now and then. It had seemed that he was well…happy, or as happy as any of them had seen him since joining Weiss. Now that Yoji had been doing the sneaking around, looking for gifts, Aya knew something was up. He had asked about it, but they had either shrugged it off, or gave him an answer that didn't really answer his question. So their leader had begun to distance himself again, only speaking when spoken to, sometimes not even then, or just a one word answer. He was short with customers, yelling at the girls who didn't buy anything, and even those who did, which is why Omi was taking care of the customers. It was a good thing that this was almost over, and they could all go back to normal. Omi was sick of taking the ex-playboy's shifts and covering for him, he and Ken had lives too. Yoji had better manage to find Aya one hell of a great gift, or he was going to find some very personal images posted all over the internet.
“Ken-kun, do you think Aya-kun will be okay? I'm worried about him.” He was talking so softly that he wasn't sure if Ken heard him or not. God only knows what Aya would do to them if he found out too soon.
“Don't worry about it Omi.” Ken was being equally quiet, for a change. “Yoji knows what he's doing.”
Omi just continued to look at Ken's arrangement. “I hope so, Ken-kun.”
Meanwhile, Aya on the other side of the shop, had managed to sweep the same portion of the floor at least a dozen times. He knew Omi and Ken were talking about him, he just didn't know what about. Well of course Aya knew what they were talking about, he just didn't know what exactly they had said. They were talking about him and Yoji, that was a given. He suppressed a sigh. Why was Yoji avoiding him? Had he done something wrong?
That was a stupid question, of course he had. Yoji wouldn't avoid him if he hadn't. Since the start of there relationship Yoji had been near him almost every waking, and non-waking, moment. Aya still wasn't comfortable with public affection, and Yoji understood, not that he didn't sneak something in every once in a while. Never in the flower shop, but when they were out he would kiss Aya quickly, or hold his hand. Maybe that was it. Yoji the playboy extraordinaire was tired of having to work for his meal. He could have anyone he wanted, which was why Aya almost laughed when Yoji had first approached him.
So that was it then, Yoji didn't want him anymore, and since they were on a team together he felt it was a better idea to avoid Aya than tell him flat out. Aya's mind had made itself up. He would go to Yoji once he got home, and tell him that he didn't have to sneak around anymore, that Aya finally got the message. He would move on…eventually, he always managed to. But why this time, when he thought of loosing this person, did he feel like throwing up and crying at the same time?
