It had only taken Takuya four months to find a job at a local school teaching art. It wasn't that hard and he had found it was something he was pretty good at while still in the hospital.
When he wasn't at rehabilitation for his leg or looking after the adorable Kyosuke, he was scanning the job listings for something that he would be suitable for. He was able to take a few tests and did so evaluations and was able to get hired after only a few interviews.
So he donned a suit and other respectable cloths that Asuka had bought him and heads off to his nice respectable job every morning.
To save a lot of question from nosey neighbors they are posing as a married couple for now until Takuya finds himself in a more stable situation. Sure he would sleep with Asuka from time to time when she wanted it but there were no real commitments there for either of them.
He was more attached to Kyosuke then he was of anyone else and just seeing that cute little smile when he walked in the door each day made everything worth while.
Takuya got the impression that even though there was no real love between them that Asuka would really marry him if he were up for it. Needless to say he wasn't, and was still holding out hope that some old lover or friend would someday show up and claim him for his or her own.
But as time passed and still no one showed up and the more attached to Kyo he became the more he thought that maybe he really could be a part of this family.
He couldn't and wasn't about to say that he wasn't happy in this new life even if he felt somewhere in his core that he was missing something or someone. He wasn't about to jinx his good his good luck so far.
He still needed a cane but other then that and the memory loss he was in good health. He has a home and someone to take care of him and someone that needed his care in return. He had his life even if it's not what it once was but he couldn't really compare so that was all pointless. But even to this day he was lucky to be alive if it were for some unknown person pulling him out of that school he would now be nothing more then ash.
Takuya had tried to find the person that had saved his life but was told that the man had dumped him off at the emergency doors and walked off. No one could even tell him what the other man looked like. Oh well.
So he goes about his daily life. Eat, sleep, work and repeat. It's not so bad really. It's not really exciting but it is kind of rewarding working with the kids at his school, coming home to a pseudo family.
The kids were merciless in their pursuits. Always questioning him about where he was from and what happened to him so that he would loose his memories and not to mention that they all seemed to think he was attractive. Takuya just thought he was average and didn't really hold that much time for primping or such. Didn't make a difference to teacher or student alike, and that's when the wedding ring came in handy.
Takuya thought that had been the best plan him or Asuka had come up with. It really did save him a lot of trouble. But it wouldn't be long before he was capable to take care of himself and afford to get his own place and give Asuka her life back.
But really why worry before then time has come?
