Chapter 3

Aya watched as Omi disappeared through the doorway. He let himself fall back onto his bed and placed an arm over his eyes. /Kami-sama, why did I do that for?/ Aya was annoyed and angry, but not at Omi. He was frustrated at his reaction to what Omi was doing to him and he took it out on the blond. The worst thing was that Omi said that he loved him. Aya had no idea that Omi felt that way about him. He didn't really know what he felt towards the latter. All he knew was that no one made him feel that way Omi did. Omi was the special one out of them four. Although he has seen so much harshness within the world at such a young age, the latter was somehow still able to keep an aura of innocence. Omi had so much hope for everything and if it weren't for him, Aya believed that Yohji, Ken and himself would have eventually been lost in darkness. /I have to talk to Omi or at least apologize./ Aya shouldn't have called Omi `disgusting'. He was far from it.

Aya sat up and pulled his pants and boxers back on. He stood up from his bed and he felt something soft under his feet. He looked down and saw Omi's hat. Aya stared at it for a long time before he actually bent down to pick it up. Looking at the hat made him feel so much pain, sorrow and regret. Remembering how hurt Omi looked as tears fell down the blond's face, Aya wanted to cry himself. He thought back to the time Oka had died. Omi had such a lost look on his face for weeks. In that period of time, the youngest member of Weiss had lost so much weight and formed dark bags under his eyes. The blond had stopped eating and often had nightmares where he woke everyone up with desperate screams. Aya had watched Ken and Yohji try to calm Omi. He himself was standing leaning against the doorframe, wishing he could just hold the blond and stop the pain. It reminded Aya of the situation he was in now. The pain that filled Omi's eyes in those weeks were now back again. This time, he was the cause of it.

Aya decided that he'd do anything to make Omi truly smile again. It wouldn't be enough if Omi were to forgive him. Omi was always too forgiving, even if it still hurt him. Aya thought back again to the time he accused Omi when they found out that he was really Takatori Mamoru. That discovery had torn Omi apart. It wasn't because he was part of the enemy's family, but he the way Aya treated him and finding out about Aya's past. It only took a simple, "You are not Takatori Mamoru, You're Tsukiyono Omi", from the redhead for Omi to forgive him and smile. Aya didn't want that this time around. Even until this day, He can still see the blond being unsure of himself for having Takatori blood flow in him. Aya wanted Omi to forgive him and have the latter never doubt himself, especially about being disgusting.

With Omi's hat in hand, Aya made his way to the blond's room. The whole time, he just kept thinking, /Kami-sama, I'm such a idiot./

Closing Aya's door, Omi made his way to his own room. The tears never ceased to fall as he dropped down onto his bed and wept. All the pain that he ever felt in he life came back too him. Oka's death, Persia's death, being of Takatori blood, Aya's sister, Aya's family, and Aya. Everything happened because of him. *It's all my fault.* Omi pulled his legs to his body. He was hurting everywhere and he didn't know how to stop it. His world had fallen apart. He should have just stayed away and slept in the mission room. If he did, he could be at least admiring Aya and spending time with him, even though it would be only in the flower shop. But anything was better than now. Aya didn't want him anywhere near him again and it was also his entire fault. He didn't know how to control himself. Omi felt so worthless. He cried himself to sleep, think the same line over and over again. *I'm disgusting. I'm disgusting. I'm disgusting. I'm disgusting. I'm disgusting. I'm disgusting…………*

Aya was currently standing outside of Omi's room. He wasn't sure how to go about this and how he should approach Omi. He looked around to see of anything could help when he once again laid eyes upon the hat in his hand. It would be easier if Omi could see a reason why he would be here. Omi wouldn't push him away if he were here to give something back, even if that wasn't the real reason. Aya raised one hand and knocked on the door.

No answer.

Aya knocked again.

Still no answer.

Uncertain, Aya placed his hand on the doorknob and slowly turned it. He opened the door and saw Omi curled up on his won bed. Aya couldn't really see the blond's face so he walked over. One sight and he regretted doing so. Omi was asleep but there were crystalline traces on his cheeks. The area around his eyes were swollen from crying and the sheets under the latter's head was wet from tears. Aya swallowed the lump in his throat. He never meant to cause Omi this much pain. He placed the hat next to Omi and left the room. He didn't want to wake the blond. He would have to talk to him later. /I have to make it up to him./

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Omi's eyes shot open as nausea took him over. He ran to the bathroom and lean over the toilet. The only thing that came out was stomach acid and dry heaves. Omi let himself slide to the floor as he tried to calm himself. It was a horrible nightmare. He dreamt that he kept pursuing Aya even thought the redhead told him to stay away. Their leader made it clear that the blond was disgusting to him but Omi wouldn't let up. They went on a mission and Omi still wouldn't leave Aya alone. He distracted the elder and Aya got shot. He remembered running to Aya and saying sorry but Aya used the last of his strength to push him away saying, "I don't care. Stay away from me. You disgust me." Aya had died right then and there and Omi had woken up at that point.

Omi looked outside the window and saw that it was nighttime. He had missed his shift. *Great! Aya's already disgusted at me and now I had to go and make him mad by skipping work.* Omi didn't want to get screamed at. He didn't want Aya to be mad at him even more. Tears once again trailed down his face. *I have to get out of here.* Omi got up and ran out of the house, not caring that he knocked things over along his way.

Aya had just finished closing up the store. Thank kami-sama that it was a slow day. Ken and Yohji had the morning shifts and he and Omi had the afternoon one. Omi didn't show up for his shift, not that Aya blamed him. He figured that Omi was still asleep or he wanted some time alone. Ken, for `who knows what' reason, decided to go out clubbing with Yohji, and now that the shop was closed and Omi and him were alone, it would be a good time to talk to him. He turned off the light and Aya entered their kitchen. The shop was connected to their home, which was rather convenient. He was hungry and sure that Omi was too. /Maybe I should ask what Omi wants to eat./ Aya left the kitchen and froze in shock at what he saw. Their houseplants were all on the floor, pots shattered. Aya grabbed the closest weapon in sight, which was a broom, and searched the house. He checked the living and the mission room. He made his way upstairs. When he reached the top of the stairs, he realized that Omi's door was opened. Aya ran as fast as he could to Omi's room. The broom fell out of the redhead's hand when he saw that the blond wasn't there. Aya quickly went through all the rooms of their house but Omi was nowhere to be found. /Where did he go?/ The redhead made hi way downstairs when something hit him. /Shit! Please tell Omi didn't go and do something stupid./ Aya grabbed his coat and ran out the door. He would search the whole city if he had to, as long as could find Omi.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

He stared up at the stars. As bright as they were, only darkness entered his world. Omi leaned against the railing and let the tears fall freely. He came here the time his memory came back. He came when he found out that he was a Takatori. He came here after he killed his own brother. He came here after Oka died. Omi was back here again. This was the place he came to every time the pain was too much and threatened to take over. Here, he could think and cry all he wanted or needed. Here, Aya could not see him cry. Here, Aya could not scream at him and tell him how much he hated him. Omi hugged himself as more tears fell. Tears made it halfway down the blond's cheeks before they froze in the winter breeze. It began to snow and Omi felt cold and sleepy. He felt himself sliding to the floor but he had no strength to stop it. Omi stared up at the stars. Each one seemed to fade away as darkness claimed him.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

As each moment passed, Aya became more and more restless. It's been three hours since he left the house in his search. He called all of Omi's friends, went to every local coffee shop, arcades, and restaurants. He even paid to get into every movie theater just to see if Omi was there. Aya was out of places to look. /Maybe he went home./ Aya did not think a second thought as he took the shortest way back to Koneko. There was the road by the water where you could see the bridge. It was the fastest way back, cutting though most of the roads.

/Omi just has to be home. I'll never forgive myself if-…/

Aya froze in his tracks. There was a small figure on the road by the railings. Aya knew who it was. He walked over and looked down. Omi was lightly covered in snow. The latter had nothing on except his pajamas; a long sleeve shirt and a pair of shorts that were both baggy. Omi's lips, fingertips and toes had a tint of blue to them. The tears that Aya held back this morning in Omi's room now seeped from his eyes. He bent down and placed two fingers on Omi's neck and felt for a pulse. /Thank kami-sama. There's a pulse./ Aya quickly took off his coat and wrapped it around the blond. He picked up the blond and ran as fast as he could to get Omi back home and safe. Aya didn't care or noticed that he was still crying. "I'm so sorry Omi. You can't die. You have to be okay. You just have to."
