Teddy Bears and Darts Chapter 2.

Disclaimer: I don't own Weiß Kreuz, Koyasu-sama said no when I asked, but what he doesn't know is that I have kidnapped the guys and am currently holding them hostage in my parents basement, but only Amanda knows were they are because I gave her Yohji. Mwahahahahahahahahaah!

Same notes apply to this chapter as the last.

By the time I had worked up the nerve to look at the information given to me, it was already late so I had to wait for tomorrow to call Dr. Hendel. I was surprised by the amount of information given to me by my informant. I headed to bed by 9 pm. I was exhausted for what seemed like no good reason. I slept like a rock until 7 am.

Ken was banging on my door for me to wake up. He didn't even wait for me to answer, or if he did I hadn't realized it. My door flew open and there stood Ken with a tray in one hand a look of worry on his face. "Omi you're usually up by now. Are you ok?"

The smell hit me just before he ended his question. It had my stomach flopping and me rolling out of bed and running to the bathroom. I made it just before I was sick. I even managed to cut off Yohji. If I had the opportunity to think about it, it might have made me feel better.

Ken knocked to make sure I was ok. I didn't have the energy to say yea or nay. I just hoped he would leave me alone. I guess I wasn't to have much in the way of good luck that day.

Aya shoved his way in to the bathroom. He took one look at me and wet a wash cloth. He rung it out and placed it on my forehead. I had to admit, it felt so good. It felt so good that I almost hadn't realized that Ran had picked me up. He carried me back to my room.

"Aya?"

"Hn"

"Thank you." I was some what surprised by the fact that Ran was the one to help me. I had figured Ken would be the one. I knew I couldn't count on help from Yohji.

"I'll have Yohji call you in again today. If you aren't going to the doctor's, I don't want you to leave this room." Ran all but ordered. He closed the door behind him before I could say thank you again.

I picked up the cordless phone on my bedside table and dialed the number on the sheet. I only had to wait two rings before a deep male voice answered. "Dr. Hendel's office, Dr. Hendel speaking. How may I help you?" The voice asked.

"Hello, my name is Takashi Fuya, Dr, Darken recommended you. I was told you might be able to see me really soon."

"Is four thirty soon enough for you, Mr. Takashi? At the Magic School Bus Hospital?" The man asked.

"Yes, thank you. Four thirty it is." I heard the click from his line, and hung up my phone. I got out of bed and headed down stairs to ask for a ride to my doctor's appointment.

I really regretted going downstairs. The smell of Ken's burnt breakfast lingered heavily in the kitchen, and was steadily creeping into the other rooms on the first floor. I tried to ignore my roiling stomach. I hoped that I wouldn't find the guys in the kitchen but knew that was the best place to look. That was where I found all three of them. Yohji was on the phone leaning against the counter. Ran had his head buried into the day's newspaper, until he heard me. Then he glared up at me from his seat at the kitchen table. Ken was enthusiastically digging into the unrecognizable lump on his plate. Yohji hung up a moment after I entered the kitchen.

"What are you doing down here?" Ran asked in a cold voice.

"I came to ask for a ride to the Magic Bus Hospital this afternoon. I have a doctor's appointment at 4:30." I replied, trying not to squirm under Ran's glare and throw up at the sight and smell of Ken's breakfast.

Yohji spoke up first, "I cant, I have to stay at the store tonight." He waved his hand and strode off. I really couldn't say I was all that surprised.

I looked up at Ken with I guess a pleading look. "Sorry Omi-chibi, I have Soccer practice with the kids and I have to stay at the store until it's time for me to leave. I am sorry." He glanced down at the last of his breakfast before he shoveled it in his mouth.

"I'll take you, be ready to leave by 4." Ran turned back to his paper. I was grateful to get out of there, a moment longer and I think I might have thrown up again. I headed back to my room at a snail's pace.

I worked on homework I found in my email from one of my classmates. After I finished with everything I knew about and killed (not intended to be a pun: Ashes) about 2 hours worth of time, then I had nothing better to do then pace around the room a little. At about 12:30 Ken knocked lightly on my door.

"Come in,"

Hey, Omi, I brought you some lunch. Chicken noodle soup, Aya made it so it shouldn't be too bad." Ken grinned as he set the bowl on the night stand along with a tall glass of water. "I'd have brought up milk, but milk products while you're sick, make you even more fleghmmy."

"Gee, Ken, I don't think I could have gone through life with out that tidbit. Thanks though, I did want water and was about to go down for some." Ken left after talking with me for about a whole minute. You know the basic how are you feeling, ect, ect.

When he left I logged onto the internet and headed to the Metacom home page. I looked up Dr. Hendel to find out his field, while practically scarffing down the soup Aya had made. It was fantastic and I was famished... Dr. Hendel turned out to be the head of cancer research and his main office was located at the Magic School Bus Hospital. Why would my informant send me to a cancer researcher? I didn't know but I couldn't wait to find out.

I spent the rest of the day alternately napping and being OCD about my computer files. At three I headed into the bathroom to get cleaned up as I had been loafing around my room all day in my pjs and robe. The hot spray felt awesome as it seeped away some of the tension that had built up in me over the last few days. I was ready by three thirty so I headed into the kitchen for more soup while waiting on Ran.

I was rummaging in the fridge when a set of fingers pinched my butt. I squeaked in surprise, dropping the bowl I had in my hands. The soup splattered all over the floor as Yohji laughed so hard I almost hoped he couldn't breath. "Yohji! What the Hell?! You scared the hell out of me and now I have to clean up this mess before Aya is ready to go!"

And of course, my luck being as it is, Ran called up the stairs thinking I was still up there. He strode into the kitchen and stood stock still at the mess on the floor, the pieces of the bowl in my hands and Yohji still chuckling. His steely gaze fell back on the bowl and I could swear I saw sadness followed by anger flitter through those cold eyes.

"Yohji, Clean that up." Yohji stopped chuckling real fast at that. "There is more soup in the large Tupperware container on the bottom shelf. Get it and let's go." I had to sidestep Yohji to retrieve my insulated traveling mug and reheated the soup that had smell better with each passing second. Yohji grumbled as Ran kept an eye on him to make sure he was cleaning up the mess he had caused. Ran wasn't a fool. He knew Yohji did things that got on everyone's nerves on purpose.

I had my mug in hand and headed for the door. A cold seeped through me from the inside out that even the warmth of the soup couldn't hold at bay. I was scared. I didn't know of what, I just knew I was afraid of something.

Ran silently got in the car and un-locked the passenger side door for me. I hastily fastened my seatbelt and scooted as far from Ran as I could get. "How are you getting home?" Were the first and only words out of his mouth on the way to the hospital.

"I had planned to take the bus." I responded.

He glanced over at me, as if judging me in some way for some reason, "Hn." I don't know about you but `hn' just isn't a word. The rest of the trip was riddled with silence. I had to admit, I really didn't mind the silence, it meant he wasn't pushing me for answers I wasn't quite ready to give. Answers I didn't even have.

"Aya?"

"Hn"

"Mind if I put in a CD?" How much do you want to bet I had my big eye look on him, with out realizing it. I would bet in favor of that one as his eyes slid off the road long enough to glance at me. Then he gave a gusty sigh. "Is it the Gundam Wing mix again?" I couldn't tell if he wanted to listen to it or not so gave him another option.

"I have the Fushigi Yuugi mix with me as well, if you would prefer that one instead?"**

"Omi, just pick one." Ran kinda growled. I chose the Fushigi Yuugi mix. The first song to play was Boku no Uchuu ni Kimiga Iruan image song of one of my favorite characters, Hotohori, played and sung by Koyasu Takahito.***

The song was one I had to concentrate on to sing in my head, it kept me from worrying about anything for almost five minutes. It kept me from thinking about Ran and my own issues.

I hadn't figured it out, but Ran was making me jittery recently. I had begun to make mistakes that I couldn't afford to make, ones that would take payment of my life and or any one of the guys' lives. I had been luck so far, the guys had an eye out for me. I made up the schedule so I rarely had to work with him and make a fool of myself even more.

He stopped in front of the hospital to let me out, "Don't worry about me, I'm taking the bus home, Thanks!" His eyes narrowed as he nodded. I shut the door and sprinted for the building.

Dr. Hendel's office was on the third floor and at the other end of the building, oh joy had been my thought. Lucky for me, Ran had dropped me off with time to spare. I was five minutes early. Hendel's secretary ushered me in, announcing my arrival.

Dr. Hendel was an older man. He appeared older then my father, Reji Takatori. His hair was almost all white now, round glasses sat in front of worried honey brown eyes. He was taller then me, but it's not like that is hard to do.

"Mr. Takashi, please, come with me. We need to head to the lab for a few tests." He ushered me out of his office. The labs were in the building next to the hospital and offices. He grabbed a folder out of his desk drawer before he exited.

"Helen, I'm taking care of this patient, why don't you go ahead and go home early. I'll lock up tonight." He locked the door to his office itself after he dismissed Helen for the night.

"Follow me, Mr. Takashi." He gestured out the door.

We were well outside of the building before he spoke again. "Listen, Mr. Takatori." My eyes widened in shock and fear when he addressed me by the name I no longer laid claim to.

"This is extremely sensitive information. Don't let any one see it, Mamoru, you were one of the last test subjects for an experiment that had started just over 20 years ago. Your father was once one of my best friends, until he refused to listen to reason about the experiment. It was dangerous to the children over 5, but our success rate for infants was almost non existent. Only two infants survived the changes, you are one of them." He paused a moment to let it all sink in, looking at me for the first time since we had left the office.

"We almost lost you, but you managed to show strength of will that most people will never have in their entire lives. Much to your father's disappointment, I am sorry to tell you this." His honey eyes darkened with sadness and anger.

"I already knew he hated me." I whispered.

"The other child failed, the more stress the subjects are under the more likely the experiment will fail. I had heard about the kidnapping, I had figured that you wouldn't have to worry about the testing. I might be wrong if you are coming to see me. Let us get these tests out of the way and see if it's what I think it is,"

I thought maybe he was talking about some sort of cancer side affect of the experiment. So needless to say I wasn't ready for the answers after being tested and waiting on the results.

Yeah I know it's horrible. But let me know what you guys think!

Authors note

**-I hadn't realized Koyasu Takahito was in both of those anime when I started writing this, and for any one who has read my stuff, they'll tell you I love putting music in my fics.

*** Once you know might as well play with it, right?
