Chapter Four

Yuji stands at his bar, looking out at his lone customer. The light chestnut locked girl sits off at the end of the counter. He eyes the young teen, as he feels that something was not quite right with the young girl. He could not put a finger on it, but the girl was not her usual talkative self.

Robin had not moved from her spot on the stool since coming in hours ago now. She had ordered three espressos in a row, yet she never said anything else. Yuji had noticed her eyes were quite red, and she slumped in her chair like she had lost her best friend. This was not the vibrant young girl he knew and had came to love like his own daughter. He had a hunch that something was up.

He was going to go over and see if he could pry just what was going on, but another customer had came in. He looked over and saw it was Miho, from the STN fold. He waited, watching the woman go over to Robin. He decided that she might have more luck than he would have, and stayed in the background.

Miho neared and cheerfully called out a greeting to the youngest of the hunters, but she only got a nod of the head in return. Miho thought that to be very odd, as the girl always had a smile for her. She kept on getting closer to the young hunter, as the reaction bothered her.

The hunter woman stepped closer, and saw the sullen face of the young girl. It was clear that the girl had been crying by the puffiness of the young hunters eyes.
“ Robin?” She asked, feeling concern. “ Are you... alright?”

The girl tried to nod, but it was a halfhearted try. Miho got the deep feeling of something not quite right. She sat down next to the girl.
“ Robin...have you been crying?” She said, continuing to look at the puffiness of the girls eyes.
“ Yes.” She said, her voice seemingly barely a whisper, yet she was not saying much.
“ Is there something I could do?” Asked Miho, not really knowing just what to say in the moment.
“ There is nothing whatsoever you can do, Miho.” Said the girl, her voice strained with emotions that were right under the surface.

At that moment, Amon strode in to Harry’s. Robin immediately spotted the man, then turned and just sat in silence. She hope that he would not come over to her, or somehow fail to see that she was there. The girl felt the tears beginning again from deep within, as she noticed that he had seen her.

He strode over and leaned in to her, keeping his back towards Miho and Yuji. The girl never once turned to look at the man hovering over her, ignoring him totally.
“ Could we talk?” He asked in a low whisper.
“ No!” She said, tears starting to flow down her face, turning to make sure she did not see the man. “ I do not want to talk.”
“ Come on...” He asked again. “ You need to give me a chance to explain this if I can and...”
“ I said... I did not want to talk!” She repeated, her words quick and sharp out of the mouth.

Karasuma just looked shocked, as she watched the two near her. She had never seen the girl like this ever, nor anyone else speak to Amon in the way the young girl was.

She wondered just what was going on for this young one to be like this to Amon, as she could literally feel the hate and the mounting sadness coming from the black garbed young hunter. No one had ever defied the man like this before, and Amon seemed to be very puzzled by the response.

Amon was persistent, yet there was a odd feeling of remorse in his eyes. Miho picked that right up.
“ Please could we just talk.” Said the man stepping further next to the girl. He was on the verge of pleading with the young teen.

The girl turned her head with a jerk, her eyes locking on his. There was hurt flashing through her eyes, and the tears just put a point on that. She had a pleading sort of questioning look on her face.
“ I do not want to talk to you!” She said, her voice unusually loud. She snapped her head away once more.

Amon shifted nervously, as he was well aware that both Yuji and Miho were there watching all of this going on. He needed to get out of the public spotlight for this, he decided. He leaned in again, this time even closer to the girl’s ear.
“ Lets go somewhere more private and talk about this...” He said, his voice wavering a little. He grabbed her elbow to get her to look at him “ We need to talk about it, you know.”

Robin stood up from her seat and directed her stare right at the man, jerking her arm out of his grasp with authority. Her hands went down, to be clenched against her thighs, as she sniffed back some tears. She actually made the man take a step backwards.
“ I do not want to talk about it...” She said sternly, her body shaking with her emotions. “ I give you my heart, my love and my body, and you go and lay with someone else... then ask me to ‘talk about it’?”

The girl’s eyes seemed to flair with flame, as her anguish fell out of her with her words. Clenching her fists harder against her legs, she took a long breath and reigned herself in as she could feel her powers surging inside of herself. She closed her eyes and pushed passed the man, her sobbing becoming louder. Out of the door of Harry’s, she ran, her face drenched with her own tears.

Miho ran after the girl, as she had pieced together what was happening. She turned to look at Amon, a scowl of pure hate on her face.
“ I never thought I would ever say this to you, Amon...” She sneered, pausing for a moment at the door. “ You’re such a fucking prick!!!”

Amon looked at Yuji who was right there looking at him..
“ Did you do what I think you have done, Mr. Amon?” He asked, then he nodded, as he read the man’s face. “ It was with Miss Touko, after you had been in here all last night... right?”

Anger at the man flashed in Amon’s face, as the truth was coming out. He slammed his fist on the bartop with a loud crash, then strode off. He just walked away with a hard step towards the door.
“ It is none of your fucking business, Yuji!” He growled over his shoulder, shoving the swinging doors open with a straight arm. “ Just keep with serving drinks, leave the mental crap to others!”

The owner just watched the man leave with a sad look. He shook his head, as he thought of the young girl that had raced off earlier. He was worried about young Robin, but with this situation the girl was in, he was unsure of how much he could do for her. He just took a deep breath of his own and returned to his work, still thinking on the young hunter.

Amon got outside, and found both Karasuma and Robin to be gone. He swore under his breath a few times and headed to his car. He just was wanting to get the fuck out of there, nothing else left to do right now.

In a cloud of dust, the man drove off in his car. He turned the corner and was gone in a wink. The only sign that he had been their was the dust cloud that had lingered in the air before settling on to the pavement once again.
