Chapter 6

"I'll hold you forever Hiroseki, if that is what you want." Kiba said in Hiroseki's ear. "Hiroseki looked surprised at Kiba's words but then allowed herself a small smile before settling in Kiba's arms. "Kiba are you really going to let me stay with you guys, Tsume doesn't seem to fond of me." Hiroseki said.

"Don't worry Tsume is always like this but for now ignore him, don't listen to anything he says." Kiba said as Hiroseki looked up at him and smiled. "Your eyes are beautiful I never thought I would meet someone as handsome as you." Hiroseki said rubbing Kiba's cheek. "Hiroseki." Kiba said and let go of Hiroseki and stood in front of her. "Hiroseki turned around and faced Kiba and looked into his eyes.

Why was Kiba looking at her with such sadness in his eyes? Hiroseki was asking herself. Was it something she said? A lot of questions were going through the young girls mind and most of them were concerning what she had just said to Kiba.

"Kiba what is it what's wrong?" Hiroseki asked reaching up to touch Kiba's face only to have him pull away. "Kiba?" Hiroseki asked.

What was wrong with him? Was he sick, he was still quite injured from the battle at the lab where the two had first met, but most of those injuries were minor and from what Hiroseki had heard from her Aniou-mama wolves rarely got sick and if they did get sick the whole pack would know of it, so what was up with him.

"Kiba what's wrong?" Hiroseki asked. "I'm as handsome as you think I am Hiroseki. I'm not handsome at all I'm a monster!" Kiba shouted turning his back to Hiroseki. "Kiba look at me please. Please just look at me." Hiroseki begged. "I can't Hiroseki why would you want to look at someone like me?" Kiba asked.

"Because to me your handsome I don't care what anyone else thinks of you. A lot of people think you're a monster for who and what you are. A wolf that can take the form of a human is seen as a bad omen to a lot of people in this city, but I'm not afraid of you nor any other wolf that can take the form of a human to me you, Tsume, Hige, and Toboe are all like my second family. So please don't push me away Kiba I want to be apart of your pack if you will let me that is." Hiroseki said smiling as Kiba turned around towards her. "Will you let me be part of your pack?" Hiroseki asked touching Kiba's face.

"Yes." Kiba said pulling Hiroseki into his arms and hugging her. "Thank you Kiba, let's get back to the others now I bet they're worried about us." Hiroseki said loosening herself from Kiba's embrace and heading back to the spot where the others were. "So where were you two?" Hige asked opening his eye. "We were talking is all." Hiroseki said going over to Hige and patting him on the head.

"Thanks that spots been itching for weeks now." Hige said. "Well I guess it's a good thing I found that spot." Hiroseki said taking her hand of Hige's head and sitting down in the grass. "Kiba you should get some rest now." Hiroseki said looking at Kiba.

Kiba jus shrugged his shoulders and laid down next to Toboe and closed his eyes. Hiroseki looked at the pack she had just been accepted into, Kiba and the others now wolves lay around her each sleeping and dreaming about who knows what. Hiroseki looked around at her new pack once more noticing that there were only three wolves instead of four. Where did Tsume get off to? Hiroseki wondered, the two had gotten off to a pretty rough start and Hiroseki was hoping to talk with him for a while to see if they could find some level ground and settle their differences.

"So your back." Tsume said as Hiroseki turned around startled. "Oh Tsume its only you." Hiroseki said. "why are you still up?" Tsume asked. "I could ask you the same thing." Hiroseki replied back. "Smart girl." Tsume said and layed down beside Hige.

"Tsume you just act the way you do because your afraid of showing your softer side aren't you?" Hiroseki asked. "I don't have a soft side." Tsume said and closed his eyes and went to sleep. "Sure you don't" Hiroseki thought and layed down between Toboe and Hige and falling into a somewhat dreamless sleep.

***Dream***

Toboe and all of the other wolves were howling why? Hiroseki stood outside of a den watching the three wolves howl. Wait three, where was Kiba was he inside the den? Or was he somewhere else. Hiroseki had to find out and walked inside the den and gasped at what she saw. There was Kiba with a child in his arms and a woman beside him with another baby in her arms as well. Who was this woman? Was it Hiroseki or was it someone else. No Kiba would never betray Hiroseki wolves bonded for life.

And the children who were they? From the look of it they were both boys, one had black hair and the other had brown hair, they both had their fathers eyes and were at the moment crying. "They're hungry." Kiba said looking at what Hiroseki thought was herself. "Yes I know." Hiroseki had said, but before the two babies had a chance to nurse gunshots were fired and the dream had turned into nothing but a slaughter. Everyone was dead, Toboe, Kiba, Hige, Tsume, and the two babies the only person left was Hiroseki. "No it can't be. It just can't be!" Hiroseki screamed.

***Dream end***

"Uh no." Hiroseki said sitting up and panting. "Mmm, Hiroseki what's the matter?" Toboe asked waking up. "Nothing's wrong it was just a dream is all." Hiroseki said smiling at the young wolf. "Oh okay, night, night then." Toboe said and closed his eyes. "Yes that's all it was it was just a dream." Hiroseki convinced herself and layed down went back to sleep.

"Hey Hiroseki time to wake up." Kiba said gently. "Mmm." Hiroseki said opening her eyes. "Good morning Kiba did you sleep well?" "Fairly well come on let's go look for some food." Kiba said picking Hiroseki up. "You know I can walk on my own Kiba." Hiroseki said. "Yes I know that but I want to carry you for a while." Kiba said.

"I'm not to heavy am I?" Hiroseki asked lying her head against Kiba's chest and listening to his steady heartbeat. "No your as light as a feather." Kiba said looking down at Hiroseki. Hiroseki wrapped her arms gently around Kiba's neck and closed her eyes for a moment and opened them again. "Where are the others?" Hiroseki asked.

"I don't know probably looking for food." Kiba said walking over a bed of moss. "Oh so they left without us." Hiroseki said closing her eyes. "Yeah we'll find them don't worry, there's a hot spring near here would you like to take a bath?" Kiba asked.

***Hiroseki's POV***

A hot spring it would be nice to have a warm bath right now, but I'm perfectly content with being carried by Kiba, his arms and body are warm and his voice is calm and soothing, so soothing that I want to fall asleep in his arms. "A bath would be nice." I say softly. I am not to sure if Kiba has heard me or not but I guess he has since he looks down at me my black eyes meeting his blue ones and he replies sure and takes me a few more miles into the forest. As we're going deeper into the forest the air becomes warmer and more soothing. A few more feet and we reach a lake with steam rising up from it.

***Kiba's POV***

I set Hiroseki down in the tall grass and tell her to wait there for me while I go check out our surroundings to make sure no humans are around to harm me or Hiroseki. Once I've made sure no one was around I walk back to Hiroseki as she is undressing. I turn my head to give her some privacy as she undresses. "It's alright Kiba I don't mind you looking at me while I'm getting ready for my bath." Hiroseki said.

"Even if you did mind me looking at you without your clothes on I still wouldn't look, my pride doesn't allow it." I said as Hiroseki came up behind me and put her arms around my waist. "It's alright you can look other men have I'm not afraid of anyone seeing me without my clothes." Hiroseki said sadly and layed her head against my back.

Other men what did she mean other men? Hiroseki must have lived a hard life if these other men had seen her without her clothes. And all this time I never knew about it.

She just hides all the pain she feels inside with her smile so no one has to worry about her, I guess she doesn't want others to feel her burdens. "Hiroseki these men you speak of did they ever take you against your will?" I asked regretting that I had asked that question when Hiroseki's arms slid from my waist. "Yes many times." She said.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to ask such a personal question." I said hearing Hiroseki walking towards the water and stepping in. "No, no its alright you deserve to know." Hiroseki said diving under the water. I walked away from where I was standing and walked behind a tree and let her bathe in peace.

***Normal POV***

"Hey so here you are." Hige said walking up towards Kiba Toboe and Tsume close behind. "Where's the girl?" Tsume asked. Kiba nodded his head towards the hot spring as Hiroseki surfaced and shook the access water from her hair and walked out of the water and began to redress. Once Hiroseki had redressed she looked around for Kiba. For a while she continued looking and soon became worried. "Kiba?!" She called out.

"I'm over here Hiroseki." Kiba said stepping out from behind the tree. "There you are I was worried." Hiroseki said hugging Kiba. "Huh." Kiba said surprised and smiled and put a hand on Hiroseki's still damp hair. "Come on let's go." Kiba said as Hiroseki let go of Kiba and she followed Kiba and the others back to where they had slept the previous night.
