~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Chapter 1~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A city covered in a glass dome, sang with life as people moved around talking, singing, enjoying another day. But for one woman her day was anything but enjoyable as she starred up at the glass. A girl slept inside the glass, her wrist and neck chained so she didn't turn upside-down. Her small body was covered in an elastic material, and her pink hair flowed around her. Cher sat behind her desk and starred at the creation that had caused her marriage to end. `Cheza.' For the past five years she had studied the Flower Maiden and still hadn't gotten any further than when she had first arrived. She ran a hand through her golden blond hair, reached to fix her glasses that covered her blue eyes. She her head in her hands and closed her eyes, trying to get some sleep.
A man walked along the concrete walls of the city. His hands were in the pockets of his tight leather pants that went down so low, they didn't leave much to imagine. His tanned chest showed through the leather vest that showed his X shaped scar, the sleeves were ripped off at the shoulders and black shades cover his eyes. His white hair was pulled tightly back into a small ponytail. He walked towards a large tree where his gang met to discuss the raids on noble ships. When he arrived the men were gathered around an opening in the tree. He cocked eyebrow and walked over to them. “What is it?” he heard someone ask.
“I think it's a dog.”
“That's the biggest fucking dog I've ever seen.”
They shifted a little, allowing the man to see what they were making such a fuss about. A large white wolf was lying in the hollow of the tree. It looked to be dead. One of the men noticed him and called out. “Hey Tsume, look what we found.” The gang member turned back to look at the wolf. “We think it's a dog.”
“That is not a dog, pull it out.” Tsume said, knowing what would happen.
The man swallowed and nodded before reaching out to grab the animal. The others backed away. He had almost touched the white pelt, when the wolf's eyes shot open. He twisted and lunged at the person who had tried to touch him. He tore out his throat and lunged at another man who shot arrows at him, also tearing out his throat. A boy stood in front of the wolf, frozen with fear. The wolf slowly pulled his fangs out of the throat and snarled at the boy. The child starred back, trembling with fear.
Tsume shoved the boy out of the way and looked at the wolf. “How interesting.” He jumped back then ran along the walls, the wolf following after him. The two ran to a roof where Tsume stopped and looked back at the wolf. He lowered his illusion. In his place stood a dark grey wolf. His chest was a lighter grey and an X shaped patch of white hair was in the center of his chest. He starred at Kiba with pure hatred. (Keep in mind they don't know each other yet, but I just got tired of calling Kiba an it or a him.) Tsume looked at him. `You shouldn't be so quick to kill.'
`Why not, they were going to kill me.'
`How do you know?'
`I don't take chances.' Kiba lunged at him. Tsume jerked back and tangled with the white wolf. Kiba forced him down and snapped at his face, Tsume kicked the wound on his leg, then head butted him. Kiba tore at his arm opening a deep wound, but Tsume countered and grabbed Kiba's hip, blood splashed across the ground. Once again Kiba forced Tsume down again, and was about to deliver the final, but yelling came from his right. He looked over to see the child from before swinging a wrench. He jumped away from the gang leader and went to the edge of the roof. He looked back then jumped to the ground, running off, leaving Tsume to stare after him.
A small, brown wolf stared hungrily at the garbage that the crows so happily pecked at. He ran forward, but was stopped and crowed at. He turned around and bolted back to his hiding place, once again starring at the food. He turned around at a crash that sounded down the ally. He trotted toward the sound, his golden bracelets jiggling. He turned the corner and froze, hoping to go unnoticed by the girl who was bending down to get the grocery, her black hair falling over her shoulders. She looked up at him and her eyes widen. “Hey there, little guy.” She cooed. He back up. She took in the sight of him. He had three golden rings around his leg, and a dark brown coat on his back with lighter fur on his chest and legs. His eyes looked like those of a lost child. The young girl bent and took out some sausages, holding them out to the small animal. He took a caution step forward and took the sausages, then proceeded to lick her hand. She giggled and rubbed his head.
“Liera!”
Liera looked back to where she had left her father and, after telling the little one to stay, ran back to her father. The wolf sat, starring after the girl who had been so kind to him. `No one's been kind to me since…' He whined. He walked back to his spot behind the garbage can and laid down to sleep.
After he had leapt from roof to roof, Kiba's beg leg had caught up with him, causing him to stumble and fall during a landing. Now he limped through the ghettos, making dogs cower in fear behind their masters. But one such dog did not. Fierce barking drew his attention; women were screaming and running into houses and buildings. An ageing man held a raging dog by the leash. He looked like he had come out of a modern hunting movie: his hat was a poachers' hat and his trench coat hit his angles. His dog looked more like a wolf than a dog. Her coat was a off color black that almost looked blue, and her eyes held fire as she glared at Kiba. The old man let her leash go and she charged. Kiba turned and faced her to tired to run. The man leveled a rifle to his eye and looked through the scope, centering on the target. As his pet ran at the wolf, aimed for its head, and when she jumped, pulled the trigger. The bullet hit Kiba, grazing him on the shoulder, but he fell back, hoping that if they thought he was dead they would leave him alone.
