Wolf's Rain: Wandering Wolf

Disclaimer: As always I do not own WR so no suing me. . .I'm frankly. . .dirt poor. . .no money. . .*laughs* Though. . .if I had money. . .I'd have all the WR dvd's by now. . .my favorite episode has to be when Toboe's all wet. . .that's what brought on this story. Well let's get on with the story!

Chapter 3: Fallen Moon

" Where is he?" asks Tsume as he sits on top of the cave, waiting for Kuronae to return, it had already been a full day and he was starting to get worried about the pup. " Where on Earth could Kuronae have gotten too?" Tsume starts as a he hears a high pitched scream in the direction of the city ruins near the cave. Kiba appears from inside the cave as he looks up at Tsume. " You heard that. . .?" Kiba nods as his eyes hold Tsume's as the two wolves turn to look at Hige and Blue. " Stay here and watch Toboe. . .this. . .doesn't. . .feel right. . .if that's Kuronae. . .then. . .not good. . .Kuronae. . .he doesn't. . .scream. . ."

" Damn straight he doesn't," hisses Hige and nods. " He doesn't scream. . .and that is him. . .he's the only person with that voice. . .with that tune. . .and that wasn't a scream. . .that was a cry. . ." Kiba and Tsume nod as they whirl around and start running and blink as Blue appears beside them.

" Blue. . .go back and help Hige. . .this is no place for you," whispers Kiba and blinks as Blue growls at him. " What?"

" I'm helping you. . .if Kuronae's in trouble. . .then you'll need me. . .if what I suspect has happened. . .he won't let you two touch him. . .if he's even capable of telling you 'no'," hisses Blue and with that speeds up, running ahead of the two males as Kiba and Tsume just nod as they come upon the ruins as they sniff the air as a low, very pissed sounding growl resounds from Tsume. " What. . .?"

" Wolves. . .four of them," hisses Tsume as he sniffs again as he looks toward a trail of blood as his eyes widen, the bright crimson blood mixed with blue strains the same color as Kuronae's. " Damn. . .so it was Kuronae. . ." Kiba growls low in his throat as another cry echoes through the air, this time the words clear to the three wolves. " No, let me go, Toboe. . .let me go. . .I gotta get back to Toboe. . .I promised. . .I promised." Kiba's growl gets even louder as Blue looks toward the two males as Kuronae's sharp cry echoes through the ruins as Tsume covers his ears as he hears the smaller boy. " Someone. . .is going to die. . ." Kiba and Blue nod as they sniff the air, trying to figure out where their missing companion is.

" Shut up runt," hisses a black wolf as he leans near Kuronae as the half-wolf cowers away in fear, his arms tied tightly behind his back as he looks up at the black wolf, amethyst eyes shimmering with tears. " What's wrong? I know you want this." Kuronae just shakes his head as a whimper escapes his pale lips as he looks away, cowering in more on himself as a shudder runs through his body as the wolf runs a hand down his side. " So beauty. . .what's your name?"

" None of your business," whimpers Kuronae as he buries his head in the bed as another whimper escapes him as the older wolf's hand trails over his pale chest. " Just. . .just. . .call me. . .they call me. . .my name. . .it's. . .Kuronae. . ." The black wolf smirks as he looks down at the boy, cuts flowing from Kuronae's many injuries as he licks a deep cut on Kuronae's shoulder, making the boy-wolf scream in pain. " Wha. . .what's. . .your. . .your name?"

" It's none of your concern, you won't live long enough to remember," whispers the black wolf as he smirks. " So you don't need to know."

" There," hisses Kiba as he points toward a black shack as he nods. " They're in there. . .I guess that kids really got under our skin. . ." Tsume just nods as Blue shrugs as they walk silently toward the shack, their eyes flaming as they take their human forms as Tsume slowly opens the door as he looks inside as a low growl echoes from his throat. Kuronae lays curled up in a corner of the room, wrists still bound as he shudders, amethyst eye's lost as he looks up toward the three silently, eyes dark and lost. " Kuronae. . .damn. . ." Kuronae's eyes brighten slightly at the mention of his name and then fall dark again as he curls in more on himself as Kiba and Tsume approach.

" Sta. . .stay. . .back," stutters Kuronae as he scouts away from them, as his blood caked lips barely move, his voice coming out weak and rasping. " Plea. . .please. . .I. . .ju. . .just. . .wa. . .want. . .To. . .Toboe. . .ple. . .please." Blue moves forward as she knells down before Kuronae slowly as she gently touches his arm as she reaches over and grabs his whip out of Tsume's hands as she offers it to him. " Bl. . .Blue. . .is. . .is it. . .y. . .you?"

" Yes Kuronae. . .it's me. . .we've come to bring you back," whispers Blue as she looks at the pup quietly. " I'm sorry Kuronae. . .I'm sorry we didn't come sooner. . .Toboe's worried sick about you. . ."

" Toboe?" asks Kuronae as he looks up at the woman as his amethyst eyes brighten slightly and then sadden. " But. . .Blue. . .I can't. . .I. . .I'm not pure. . .I don't deserve Toboe. . .I don't deserve to call myself a member of your pack any longer. . .just leave. . .I can't. . .I'm disgraced. . .I won't burden you. . .just go. . .I'm weak. . .I'm lost. . ." Blue just sighs as she motions off for Tsume or Kiba to find Kuronae something to wear. " Just. . .leave. . .please. . ."

" Kuronae. . .you're a member of our pack. . .Toboe's fallen for you. . .you're hurt. . .and I for one am not leaving you here. . .alone. . .and broken like this," whispers Blue as Tsume hands her a white tank-top and a pair of black pants as she looks at Kuronae quietly. " Let me help you Kuronae. . .am I right to say you don't want Tsume or Kiba touching you right now?" Kuronae just nods as Blue cuts the ropes around his wrists and then helps him into the clothes as she lifts the pup into her arms. Kuronae shudders as he clutches to Blue as his amethyst eyes fall shut as he clings to the female. Blue smiles sadly as she runs toward the cave, carrying the limp pup in her arms as she stops slowly, measuring her steps as she walks into the cave, laying Kuronae down gently in a corner and motioning for Hige to follow her outside as Toboe stares at Kuronae as he looks between Hige and Blue as tears trail down his cheeks.

" Blue. . .what. . .what. . .is. . .is Kuronae. . .is he. . .alright?" stutters Toboe as he takes a step toward the smaller wolf and then stops as Blue glares at him. " Blue? Are you. . .are you mad at me?"

" Toboe. . .leave Kuronae alone," growls Blue as her eyes spark. Toboe just nods as he moves away from the other pup as Blue turns her back and walks outside as she nods to the other three, her eyes shadowed. " Tell me. . .what should we do? What they did to Kuronae can't be left unpunished. . ."

" You're right," growls Hige as he looks at his mate as he shifts uneasily as he looks toward the sky. " We should be getting on our way to the mating grounds. . .we've wasted time. . ." Blue growls as Hige just nods slightly as he looks toward Kiba as the white alpha stares off into the distance. " Kiba?"

" Hige. . .you take Blue. . .and Toboe and go to the mating ground. . .Tsume. . .Kuronae and I will meet you there," commands Kiba. Hige nods as he walks toward the cave to gather up his things as he stops short. " What?"

" We can't separate them," whispers Hige as a smile falls over his lips. " Toboe's the only thing holding Kuronae steady right now. . .the only thing keeping him from losing it. . .look. . ." Kiba peaks inside the cave as he blinks slightly as he see's the two pups sitting, staring into each other's eyes silently as he blinks again, wondering what led to the stare off.

" Kuronae?" whispered Toboe as he inched cautiously toward the other wolf, not wanting to get the other boy angry. " Kuronae. . .I'm sorry. . .please. . .what's wrong? I want to help. . .don't tune me out. . .please Kuronae. . ." The silver-blue wolf slowly raised his shallow amethyst eyes as he looked at Toboe silently as a sad smile graced his lips. " Kuronae. . .you can't even see me. . .can you?"

" Toboe," whispered Kuronae as he stared right through the other wolf as tears trailed down Toboe's face. " I wish. . .I'm sorry. . .I'm not worth your time any longer. . .I'm not the same Kuronae. . ." Toboe growled as he grabbed Kuronae's tank-top front, making the other boy's eyes meet his. " Ple. . . please. . .let. . .let me go. . ."

" Kuronae! Wake up! It's me! Toboe! Come on Kuronae! Don't tune me out. . .you're my friend! Please Kuronae!" pleaded Toboe as his voice rose to a pitch as he stared into Kuronae's eyes, seeing the coldness, the total helplessness in their depths. " Kuronae. . .please. . .you promised. . .come back. . .please. . ."

" Toboe. . ." whispered Kuronae as a slight light sparked in the back of his eyes as he looked at the red-brown haired wolf before him as his eyes sparked a bit as a tear trailed down his cheek. " Oh gods. . .Toboe. . ." Kuronae shuddered as he bowed his head, looking away from the other pup and blinked as Toboe forced him to meet his eyes. " Please. . .Toboe. . .let me go. . .I'm not clean. . .I'm. . .I can't. . .just forget about me. . ."

" I can't," whispered Toboe as he stared into Kuronae's amethyst eyes as he leaned closer to the other wolf. " While you were gone. . .it became rather clear to me. . .that you're more then a friend to me Kuronae. . ." Kuronae shook his head as Toboe leaned even closer, as Kuronae shrunk back slightly and then blinked as warm lips covered his own for a second and then pulled away as he just sat there, starring stupidly into Toboe's eyes.

" Kuronae. . .Toboe. . .what's going on?" asks Blue as she walks toward the two boys, head tilted slightly to the side as she notices the pale blush on Kuronae's cheeks and blinks. " Kuronae. . .you. . .you're really. . .red. . ." Tsume looks between the two pups as his eyes fall on Toboe as he watches the brown-red wolf fiddle nervously with his shirt hem as he looks down at the cave floor.

" I'm fine," whispers Kuronae as he keeps his head bowed, eyes closed as he talks to them. " I am alright. . .all of you. . .Hige. . .Blue. . .I'm sorry for making you wait. . .take Toboe and be on your way. . .I. . .I need. . .sometime. . .by myself." Kuronae shakily stands to his feet, now waist length hair brushing his waist as he looks toward Toboe quietly as he takes a shaky breathe. " I'll see you around. . .Toboe. . .thank you. . ." Toboe blinks as he watches Kuronae retreat toward the cave opening. " I'll. . .I'll see you all. . .around. . ." With that Kuronae spins on his heals and dashes off into the darkness as Toboe just nods as Hige, Blue and himself turn on their way to the mating grounds.

" What happened?" asks Kiba as he sits beside Kuronae, watching the pup stare off into the moonless sky. " Kuronae?" Kuronae starts as he turns to look at Kiba as his amethyst eyes hold the other wolf's. " What happened?"

" Toboe," murmurs Kuronae as he touches his lips as he blushes. " Toboe. . .he. . .he. . .um. . .kissed me. . ." Kiba blinks as he looks toward the pup as he smiles slightly. " I. . .I'll see you guys at the mating grounds. . .I better. . .I better get on my way." With that said Kuronae stands up and runs off, in the opposite direction as Kiba and Tsume shrug, letting the pup go.

" Kiba. . .where's Kuronae?" asks Toboe as he looks toward the white alpha, sitting on a rock, starring off into the distance, head tilted up, sniffing the air. " Kiba?"

" Kuronae. . .went off on his own, but he promised to meet us here," says Kiba as he looks toward Toboe, a soft smile on his lips. " He'll be here Toboe, trust him. . .he just needs some time on his own. . ." Toboe nods as he curls back up, beside the rock, listening for any signs of his friend as he drifts off to sleep.

" Lunar Flower," whispers Kuronae as he runs through the snow, feet almost flying as his whip hangs over his shoulder, eyes dark, running in the direction the scent pulls him. " Where is she? Where is Cheza?" Kuronae keeps running, stopping in his dead run, before a pink covered body as he nudges the being slightly, now in wolf form, nudging the being and barking happily as the being wakes up, looking at him through crimson eyes as his eyes go wide. " Are you. . .are you Cheza?"

" This one. . .is called Cheza," whispers Cheza as she looks at the wolf. " Who are you. . .you are a wolf. . .yes?"

" Part wolf. . .part Lunar Flower. . .part human," whispers Kuronae as he turns into his human form as he nods. " Cheza. . .I thought I smelled a Lunar Flower. . .are you the one Kiba and the others have been searching for?"

" Kiba. . ." whispers Cheza. " This one has been searching for Kiba. . .and how do you know Kiba?"

" My name is Kuronae," whispers Kuronae as he bows his head. " I'm the newest addition to Kiba's pack. . .come Cheza. . .we should go join the others. . .I'm sure Kiba will be happy to see you. . ."

" This one will come," whispers Cheza as she stands up, following after Kuronae as she smiles toward the grey-blue wolf. " How are they?"

" Kiba and the others are fine," whispers Kuronae, as he walks beside her as he smiles happily to himself. " It's about a days run to the mating grounds. . ."

" You. . .are old enough to be at the mating grounds?"asks Cheza as she looks toward him, head tilted slightly. " You seem to be only about as old as Toboe. . .this one does not believe you are of mating age. . ."

" I am though Cheza," whispers Kuronae. " My first season. . .speaking of Toboe. . .I really want him to be my mate. . ." Cheza smiles slightly as she walks beside Kuronae as she nods. " I. . .he kissed me. . ."

" Pardon me if this one is out of place. . .but is this one not correct in stating that because you have lunar flower in you. . .that you can. . .have pups?" asks Cheza as she looks toward him. " If this one is not correct. . .then this one is sorry. . ." Kuronae smiles slightly as he rests a hand on his stomach.

" You are correct Cheza. . .I may have pups," whispers Kuronae as he rubs his stomach slightly. " But do me a favor. . .don't let the others know. . .it would be. . .strange. . ."

" This one understands," says Cheza as she continues to walk beside Kuronae smiling.
