Fateless World

"Man fears the darkness. So, he scrapes at the edges of it with fire."

Darkness grasps him
Its hands were cold and grim
Cold hands did not let him go
And in the bitterness of winter, it began to snow

A city haunted by destiny
A city lost on serenity
The seven stars shine brightly
In this place covered by tragedy

With no place to go
One wonders in a place called Tokyo
The Dreamseers see a future
A future of an Earth in torture

Seven Dragons of Heaven
All seeking the same haven
Seven Dragons of Earth
Never retreating behind the hearth

They say their lives were predetermined
However their fate was destined
Each has a choice to make
Even if their lives seems like a dark façade
Their decision shall change mankind
Whatever choice they might find

She reaches for him
Removing those hands so grim
She set him free
So he can see
So he can see a fateless world

Editor's Note: This is one of the oldes pieces by Jia-chan, and so for her three year anniversary on FF.net, she has decided to use this poem. This was born not of the X/1999 Anime, but her beloved manga, as she so calls it. A few words were edited here and there to make it rhyme. The quote at the beginning comes from Evangelion and is said by Rei Ayanami.
