DemonGirl-Setsuna: Hi there! Setsuna here!

The sources of all the information I have on the characters and the series is from Character Shrines and information websites!
I own the anime on DVD, but I don't own any of the manga-volumes, so if it seems like I've read the manga, I didn't! The info is what I've picked up from the websites!

Here is Chapter 6!

-The Next Day-

“Uhhh…”, Kira groans with a bag of ice on his head, “My head… Why did I have to drink so much…?”

“It's your fault for getting drunk…”, Hisoka mutters, as he stands a few feet from him on the sidewalk while they looked for the killer.

“Waking up with a hang-over is bad… But why does it feel like I was kissed someone in the haze of booze…?”, Kira comments, touching his lips with his finger, “They're tingling as if they touched someone else's lips…”

Hisoka blushes at his comment.

“I wish I hadn't blackout from the alcohol, I actually liked the way the other person was kissing me back…”, Kira says.

`He doesn't remember anything after the bar, but senses that he kissed someone… Truly a weird guy…', Hisoka muses, watching as his companion downs an orange-juice to combat his hang-over headache, `But it wasn't my imagination… I felt Kira's emotions and they… they were…an attraction to me…!'

“Hey Hisoka! Are you alright?”, Kira asks, noticing that the younger man wasn't following.

“Huh…?”, Hisoka gasps, realizing that Kira had walked further from him, stopped, and had turned to question him when he wasn't following.

“Are you alright? You seem a little flushed…”, he asks again, walking towards him to cheek his forehead for a fever, “You didn't get sick walking me back to the hotel I hope…”

“N-no, I'm fine… It's just a little warm out here and I don't do so well in the heat…”, Hisoka replies, fanning himself to emphasis the July temperature.

“Are you sure?”, Kira pesters, leaning in closer to Hisoka, “Hmm?”

Hisoka gulps from nervousness and the memory of last night flashing in his mind adding to his frustration, “Yes I'm sure… I've always had a problem with the heat, it tires me out easily…”, he hesitantly answers.

“Okay, if that's the case, we're just going to have to buy you a bottle of water at the next corner-store…”, the temporary partner cheerfully says, walking away, oblivious to what he had done with Hisoka last night, “And if I remember correctly, there's a store just around the corner from here…”, he adds, putting his hand to his mouth in thought, “Come on!”, he exclaims, grabbing Hisoka by the wrist and drags him down the sidewalk.

“H-hey!”, Hisoka protests.

-A Few Minutes Later-

Hisoka waits outside the store using a travel-pamphlet as a fan while Kira was inside purchasing the bottled-waters.

Suddenly an ice-cold item is pressed against the heated-flesh of the back of his neck causing him to jump and suppress the scream of shock caught in his throat, only to be replied by a chuckle from behind him.

(A/N: I've done this to my room-mate; Vaya-kava, only it was with an ice-cube down the shirt!)

“Cold enough for you?”, Kira chuckles, as Hisoka turns around to face him with annoyance clearly written on his features.

“Don't do that!”, he hisses, snatching a bottle of water from Kira's hand.

“It cooled down your skin but not your temper…”, Kira pouts.

“Oh, don't go puppy-dog on me, I already have to deal with Tsuzuki doing it!”

“I'm only pouting, not begging…”, the older male says, raising an eye-brow, “Oh yeah! I bought you an ice-cream… Oh wait, the chief said you don't like sweets…”

“I like sweets… I just don't eat them a lot…”

“Ah, you're a closet sweets-lover…”, Kira whispers, “I got you a `Big Dipper'…”, handing him the packaged vanilla ice-cream dipped in chocolate and nuts on a cone.

“Sugary treats are fine from time to time, but Tsuzuki eats them after all three meals…”, Hisoka spat, as he bites into the chocolate-coating.

“Wow! That is a excessive…!”, Kira gasps, opening his fudge-icicle, “Damn it… I opened it from the wrong end…”, he curses under his breath and sinks his teeth into the top of the frozen-chocolate as he pulls the wrapper off.

“This ice-cream is pretty good!”, Hisoka exclaims.

“You almost sound like you've never eaten ice-cream before”, Kira laughs.

“I've had it once before, it was an ice-cream cake for my 16th birthday; the last birthday I ever had as a member of the living…”, he replies, with his eyes staring at the ground.

“Do you miss your parents?”

“No…”, he answers, shaking his head, “My parents never visited me in the hospital…”

“Then who brought you the cake?”

“A young woman 5 years older than me, who was mentoring me for the three-years I was hospitalized before my death…”, Hisoka says, “She was very kind, she was an empath like me, and she had a beautiful singing voice… But I can't remember her face or her name…”, he bitterly adds.

“Hisoka…”, Kira mutters, woefully looking at him.

“Aaaaaaahhhhhh!”, a female voice screams out.

“You heard that?”, Hisoka asks.

“Yeah!”, Kira nods.

“Let's go!”, the teen orders, running down the sidewalk towards the source of the scream.

“Hey! Wait for me!”, Kira shouts, running after him.

-Four Blocks Over-

“Do you sense that?”, Hisoka questions, referring to the spiritual-energy.

“Yeah, it's thick and the same as the residue left on the victim…”, Kira responds, “It's inside that lot!”, he points.

“Right…”, Hisoka nods, reaching the inside of the lot first.

Inside the lot, they find a young woman laying face-down on the ground, her long black hair draped over her face and her kimono hung loosely off her shoulders.

“Are we too late…?”, Kira huffs, trying to catch his breath.

“No, she's still alive… We must have interrupted the killer…”, he whispers, “I'm going to check on her…”, he adds, walking towards the woman's prone form, “You stay here and keep an eye out for the killer…”

“Okay…”, Kira nods, looking around from where he stood, `Something doesn't feel right…Why would the killer leave her prey when there was at least two minutes between the scream and we arriving?', he mentally says, `Unless…'

“Are you alright?”, Hisoka asks, as he closes the distance between himself and the woman.

“Hisoka! Get away from her!”, Kira yells, as he bolts towards him.

“Wha…?”, he confusingly gasps, as he looks at his partner.

“That woman is the killer!”

Hisoka slowly turns back to the woman in time to see her sitting up, a wicked smirk on her red-painted lips and her hollow dark eyes deviantly-gleamed, her claw-clad hand lifting into the air to strike out at her new-found victim as Hisoka found himself frozen to the spot in fear and shock.

“Look out!”, Kira shouts, ramming his body into Hisoka's to push him out of the way as the claws came down, gouging deeply into Kira's left-shoulder causing a fountain of blood the spray out.

“KIRA!”, Hisoka screams.
