Monster Mayhem!

(Author's Notes: Sorry for delay folks. Now that summer school for me is over, I have 2½ weeks of free time until Fall semester starts! Wish me luck!

Chapter 5

"WHAT?!", was the response from all as Keiko and her grandfather revealed the legacy of Yugi. The two expected this reaction, and showed little surprise to it.

"A-Are you sure?!", Ishizu asked. Out of all of her knowledge of history and backgrounds, she was just amazed on what had been revealed.

Keiko nodded and answered, "Yes, I am sure. Yugi is descendent of both Kamu-Yamato-Ihare-Biko, or Jimmu Kojiki for short, and Miyamoto Musashi.".

Yugi just couldn't believe it. He, a small teenage boy, was descended from a nearly divine founder of Japan and also a legendary samurai warrior!

Jimmu was the founder of the Japanese Imperial line, his story nearly identical to Hebrew's Book of Judges. To Western and modern day Japanese historians, it was legendary. Jimmu's accounts are considered to be true history and the founding of Japan.

Miyamoto Musashi was a noble and powerful samurai warrior, the one who wrote long ago The Book of Five Rings. His family, for generations, protected and served a very noble, royal family. They also trained the armed forces, which showed military might.

"Also, we have first traced his direct origins that is outside Japan's history and line.", the old man added.

Ishizu then said, "That is right. Yugi's direct ancestor is the pharaoh himself, Yami.".

As they all waited for an explanation, Ishizu started out first. She told them that Yami, in the past before the Shadow Games went wild, fell in love with a young maiden and they both consummated their love for one another. It resulted in a child, one that few others knew about.

"The mother and child fled Egypt when the Shadow Games took over the land, Yami doing so to protect them.", she finished telling them.

Yami, while inside the puzzle, was just bewildered at the info right now. When he heard the part about him falling in love and having a child, he strained very hard to remember any of it.

'Why can't I remember?! Why?!', he asked himself. After much straining, he gave up. He just couldn't remember any of the memories, not even bits or pieces. He would need all seven Millennium Items to regain his memory, as well as a body of his own.

Outside, Yugi was just as surprised as he was. He turned to Ishizu and asked, "So, does that make Yami my great-times ten grandfather?".

The Egyptian beauty chuckled and answered, "Yes, in a way. Yugi, you are his direct descendent and are of thin Egyptian royal blood.".

Tristen cut in, "Okay, let's say its true. How does that explain Yugi being related to two of Japan's national treasures?".

Saeko suggested, "Maybe that the child and her mother fled out of the country, and somehow made their way to Japan.".

Professor Waugara put in, "I think you maybe right. As time passed, they family must have settled into other lands and moved on further. So, it's quite possible that the descendents made their way to here and settled in.".

Most of the people agreed to this, but some were still skeptical. Yugi then stated, "So, I'm both the descendent of a royal Egyptian king, a nearly divine founder of the Japan Imperial line, and a legendary samurai warrior?".

Keiko and her grandfather nodded, and Yugi was just too amazed for words. He temporarily went back into his Soul Room, and saw Yami just as surprised as he was.

"Well, now I know we look so much alike. Eh, great-grandpa?", he said to him with a small, sheepish smile.

Yami grinned, chuckled, and ruffled the young man's hair. He replied, "Yes, Yugi. Now we know. But, don't call me grandpa! It makes me feel old.".

Yugi laughed and replied, "Okay, Yami.". It was then that he re-entered the real world.

"Now that you know of your past, are you ready to unlock the hidden power and potential that lies within you?", the old man asked.

Yugi nodded seriously and answered, "I am. I will do whatever it takes to protect this world, and those I care about.".

Before anyone else could speak, two melodic combined voices called out, "That is good to hear.".

~Back in Domino City Harbor~

The Egyptian God monsters had been spotted 25 miles off the coast, and nearly everyone in the entire city came onto the piers to get a good look at them.

"What the-?! It's the Egyptian God monsters from the duel battle between Seto and Yugi!", Rex Raptor exclaimed as he stared in awe at the gigantic creatures.

Weevil, who was near him, inquired, "But, why are they hear?! How is it possible that they are flesh and blood now?!".

Mako, was also in their company along with Espa Roba and his brothers, slowly started to back away from the crowd. He stated, "Guys, we should leave right now. I have a bad feeling about this…".

Espa Roba turned and saw the fear in Mako's eyes. 'Why is he scared? Unless… he senses something bad about to happen.', he thought. His own senses were also doing the same, screaming out for him to take his brothers and flee.

Suddenly, a bright blue light emerged from the red dragon, Slifer, and the people were just mesmerized by the intense, beautiful shine. Espa Roba backed away slowly, taking his brothers along with him and following Mako.

As quick as lighting, the blue light turned into a large blue beam and it headed straight for the main Kaiba Corp. tower! The people gasped in awe as the blue beam streaked for its target… then screamed in panic when they saw it collide and demolished the building into rubble.

Mako exclaimed to all, "COME ON, WE GOT TO LEAVE BEFORE WE BECOME A FISH FRY!!!".

Not wanting to stay any longer, the duelist sprinted off together. Today was now a dark day for Domino City, as blue and yellow beams of energy continued to pound away at the city.

"Yes! This is most enjoyable!", Slifer commented as she and her comrades slowly made their way to the city.

Obelisk pounded its fists together, so much ready to reduce the concrete and steel buildings to rubble. "This is an amusing event. Look at all of the humans fleeing for their lives!", he bellowed.

Ra shot forth another beam of energy at a building, and watched in glee as it toppled and fell. "This is much better then those old clay buildings we destroyed in Egypt!", he stated gleefully.

The carnage continued on, even when the monsters finally made it to land. The people screamed in terror as the three beasts destroyed, burned, and also reduced buildings and monuments to rubble.

Solomon, who was running with others, caught up with Mako and the others. "What is happening?!", he exclaimed out loud over the screams and shrieks of many others.

Mako answered, "It's the Egyptian God monsters! Somehow they came to life by themselves, and are now leveling Domino City!".

'But… where is Yugi and the rest?! Where are they?!', the now worried grandfather asked himself.

~Back in Okinawa~

The entire group was now staring in awe and wonder at two small female human beings, no more then a foot high. The two beings hid behind a flowerpot, and decided to reveal themselves when they heard Yugi state firmly that he would undergo training to tap into his hidden power and potential.

"H-Hello, little ones.", Serenity welcomed. It was really amazing to see such beautiful, and tiny wonders standing before her.

They bowed politely and replied, "Hello. We are the Twin Fairies of Infant Island, protector and guardian of Mothra.".

Duke inquired, "Mothra? Who, or what is that?".

Keisuke answered for him, "Mothra is an ancient, gigantic caterpillar monster that was spawned in the Pacific Ocean on a tiny island called Infant Island. It first came to Tokyo a few years ago to retrieve the fairies here, when a man by the name of Nelson kidnapped them.".

One of the fairies then took up, "Yes, he is right. Now, Mothra is undergoing metamorphosis and will soon emerge in her adult form, which is a moth.".

Seto inquired, "If that's the case, why are you here?".

The other fairy answered, "When we felt the evil auras coming from afar on our island, we felt that its purpose was to destroy the Earth. With Mothra still undergoing transformation, we feared that it would be too late for her to stop them.".

Her sister added, "However, we felt a powerful surge of good, pure energy coming from here. We soon regained hope for our planet, and decided to come here to investigate.".

Both then said together, "Now that we have seen our hope for the planet, we have every confidence in you Yugi Moto.".

Yugi kinda blushed from all of the attention that was all on him now. He really wasn't used to getting so much attention from many people.

Suddenly, a cell phone rang out from one of the Interpol agents, and when he answered, his face grew slightly whiter then usual.

"Its Domino City! Its being attacked by those Egyptian God monsters!", he exclaimed.

An audible gasp was around all around, and it was then the gang sprang into action. Yugi stated that he was going to stay and undergo immediate training.

"I'm going to need all the training I can get so I could be of help later on!", he told them all.

Seto said to the two Interpol agents, "I'll go with you. I have some secret weapon's projects I like to use on those accused monsters!".

He received a lot of strange stares from the Dueling Crew, and he gave them a smug smirk. He told them, "You don't think I got my money and respect from companies merely from a game?".

He explained that he was also a private contractor with the government of Japan, creating and producing secret hi-tech weapons for the military.

"This is good to hear, Mr. Kaiba. Because now, the military is on its way to the city to halt the monster's progress.", the Interpol agent partner stated.

As they all went outside, the Dream Team and the Dueling Crew decided to do their part too. The men were going to see on what they could do, while the girls were staying behind where it was safe and also to help Yugi train.

"Be careful, Joey!", Serenity told her brother as they hugged.

Joey responded, "I will, Serenity! Don't you worry!".

Ishizu told them that they would not be able to defeat the beasts, but at least buy them some time.

Masahiko said, "We'll buy as much time for you as we can!".

Saying their good-byes, the males went off in the vehicles towards a nearby airport to catch a private plane that would take them to the action.

Once they were gone, the grandfather and Keiko approached the young man. Keiko slowly, and gently, removed the puzzle from around Yugi's neck and gave it to Téa.

Yugi was about to ask on why he could not wear the puzzle during the training sessions, but the old man halted his question. He stated, "This training needs to be done by you alone, Yugi. I'm afraid that not even Yami is allowed to participate in this.".

Keiko saw the saddening Yugi's eyes, and smiled in reassurance. She added, "But, we will help you however we can, Yugi. Also, Yami will be returned to you when the training is complete.".

So, with the girls and an old priest aiding him, Yugi started his training to unlock the power and potential inside of him. He was going to make all the difference in the world.

(Author's Notes: Well, surprises did abound in here! You learned of Yugi's lineage, the Twin Fairies appearance, the monsters rampage on Domino City, and also that Kaiba also worked for the military! Too cool!

Yugi: The real thing begins next issue, info about me is shared by all, and also conflicts between cultures clash once again in the form of Ishizu and Keiko!
