Yugi- Dead Or Alive Volleyball Player?!

By: DJ Rodriguez

(Author's Notes: Thank you all very much for your kind and cool reviews! Now, unfortunately, college has started. So, from now on, I am going to concentrate on one fanfic at a time. After that, I will move on to the next one.

Yugi: And naturally, you picked this fanfic to work with?

Darien: We sure did! In fact, this is where things pick up! Oh, and Peorth. Seto really liked on how you kissed and smothered him. He's acting like a loon now!

DJ: However, Yugi was a bit sad that you did not give him a kiss. He is glad that Anime gave him one, but you know…

Now, on with the fanfic!)

Chapter 6

Yugi was walking in the lobby, with two drop-dead sexy women on his arms. On his left was Kasumi, ninja girl extraordinaire and on his right was Lei Fang, the Chinese beauty and fighter. If anyone from Domino could see him now, they would have dubbed him "The Luckiest Guy in the World". Yugi felt like that too, because he had two sweet and caring girls as friends. Soon, they made it to the Poolside. The pool area was also a sight to behold. The pool itself was elaborate, going from 3 ft. to 12 ft. deep. Small hard rubber yellow and pink pads were set up in the middle of the pool, like stepping-stones. Deck chairs and small, clear glass tables with umbrellas over them were set up everywhere. A small staircase led to the beach, where it showed in all of its glory. The pool was an outdoor one, not indoor. "Wow! This is great!", Yugi commented. He saw that some of the girls were already there, having fun or relaxing. Christie, Helena, and Ayane were lying on some of the deck chairs, soaking up the sun and taking it all in. Hitomi and Lisa were playing Water Tag in the pool, and Tina was trying to make it across the pool on the pads. All of them were wearing bikinis and swimsuits that would drive a man crazy! "This is just too good to be true.", Yugi whispered to himself. Hitomi saw the trio, and waved cheerfully at them. "Come on in! The water is just great!", she exclaimed happily. Yugi smiled and replied, "Sure thing! Just give us a minute here.". He and the girls went to some nearby deck chairs, which was near some tables as well. Yugi put his towel and a small pack on the table, the girls doing the same. After that, he looked at the two splashing women and smiled widely. "Here I come!", he shouted excitedly like a little kid. He then jumped in and did a cannonball right between Hitomi and Lisa! The two ladies squealed and laughed in delight, Kasumi and Lei Fang jumping right in after.

Yugi was having the time of his life. He was playing about with four beautiful women, and also enjoying their company. He and the others played for about 45 minutes, then they were starting to get tired. "Heh, that was good.", the young man commented. He was resting on the edge of the pool between the 4 ft. and the 5 ft. area. He was panting hard, very much tired from all the fun. He had on a large smile, though. Lei Fang was next to him on his right and she replied, "Same here. This was very fun!". Hitomi swam over and got to Yugi's left side and added, "Yeah. Thanks for playing with us, Yugi.". He smiled and said it was his pleasure. Lisa then went over and asked, "Say, Yugi. Think you can teach us on how to play Duel Monsters?". Yugi was rather surprised that they would want to learn about the game he played. Kasumi also swam over and added, "Can you? I mean, since there is no tournament here, we might as well try to have some kind of fun besides volleyball.". Yugi smiled and said, "Sure. I would be honored to show you.". The four then started to get out, but as Yugi was going to his chair, Tina, Helena, and Ayane confronted him. "Yugi, we have a request to ask you.", Tina said. Yugi gave them his undivided attention. "Since there are going to be some volleyball games here, how about you become the referee?". Yugi was quite surprised to hear this. Ayane added, "All of us, including my half-sister Kasumi, talked it over and we like you to be the referee.". Christie came over to all of them and said, "The courts don't have any boundary lines, so it's going to be difficult to judge on wither the ball is in or not. And, you seem to be very trustworthy and fair.". Helena asked, "So, do you want to be referee?".

Yugi was in thought for a moment, then came to a decision. He turned to everyone and said, "I will do it. But, I'll also be fair and neutral. I won't pick sides.". They understood, and thanked Yugi for being fair and considerate. Yugi smiled as he dried himself with his towel, then remembered something. "Lisa, could you come over here for a second?", he asked. Lisa went over to Yugi, and both sat at the table that had Yugi's stuff on it. He opened his small pack, and it showed that he had brought about 200 or so Duel Monster Cards! "Wow! That's a lot of cards, Yugi.", Lisa said as she examined some of them. Kasumi, Hitomi, Lei Fang, Helena, and Tina joined in to see the cards. Ayane and Christie just looked out over the railing, gazing at the sea. Secretly, both women listened in on the conversation. "So, how does this game work Yugi?", Tina asked him. Before he could reply, music blared out from everywhere. The song was Come On Over Baby and the singer was Christina Aguilera. "Where is that coming from?", Yugi inquired while looking for the source. Helena chuckled at Yugi's surprised face and replied, "Its from the Radio Station. It plays music from all over the island.". The young man blushed a bit in embarrassment and thanked her for the info. Then, he got back into the game. "This game is like chess; it requires strategy and thinking. It's a really tough and complex game, but its fun too. It causes you to think on the fly, and also find ways to turn any type of situation into your advantage.", he started to tell them all. They were all pretty amazed that a fun game was also complex. "Can you show us, cutie?", Lei Fang asked. He smiled and said, "Sure.". He then started to show and tell them the types of cards.

"This is a Monster card.", he said. He held up and showed them all the Steel Ogre Grotto #2. He said, "There are three types of Monster Cards, Normal, Fusion, Special Effect, and Ritual.". Kasumi looked puzzled and asked, "Special Effect?". Yugi smiled and explained, "A Normal monster card is displayed in bright yellow, like this card. But, Special Effect monster cards are showed in dark yellow.". He put the card facedown, and showed another card. It was Gray Wing, a Dragon-type monster. Yugi told them the types of monsters; Dragon, Machine, Spellcasters, Fiend, Fairy, Pyro, Aqua, Warrior, Beast-Warrior, Insect, Dragon, Rock, Zombie, Union, Spirit, and Dinosaur. He continued, "Effects are listed underneath their name types. Each effect is different and unique, so you have to choose carefully the cards that you want for your deck and strategy.". He also showed them a Ritual monster card, the Performance of Swords card. "To let this monster out, you need to sacrifice a certain number of level monsters and also have a specific Ritual Magic card in your hand.", he said. He also said to have a Fusion monster out, you need to fuse two or three compatible monsters together on the field to create it. He showed them Super Robolady, a Fusion monster created from fusing Robolady with Roboyarou. "Yugi, what about the strange colors near the name of the monster?", Kasumi asked. Yugi answered that they showed the monsters attribute; Dark, Earth, Light, Wind, Water, and Fire.

Tina asked, "What about those stars on top? What do they mean?". Yugi answered, "The stars on top indicate the level the monster is on. You can Normal Summon 1-4 level monsters on the Dueling Field without offering tributes.". Ayane and Christie were now extremely interested on where the conversation was going at. 'This kid sounds so mature and smart. Hmm. That's very interesting.', they each thought. Hitomi was very puzzled and inquired, "What do you mean tributes?". Yugi answered, "Some cards require a tribute to be either summoned or set. They are called Special Summons. The level of stars indicate on what needs to be sacrificed in order to bring it out onto the field.". He explained that Level 5 and 6 monsters needed a sacrifice of one monster on the field to be brought in, and Level 7 to 8 monsters needed two monsters to be sacrificed to show up. "Man, this sounds really complicated.", Lei Fang stated as she tried to absorb on what was told. Lisa, however, was intrigued by Yugi's knowledge and explanations. 'He looks and sounds very smart, and this game even confuses me. And I'm a top executive!', she thought. She was seeing Yugi in a new light, as was everyone else.

"There are also these, Trap and Magic cards.", he said. Yugi brought out two cards, one purple and one green. The purple one was called Burst Breath and the green one was called Banner of Courage. Yugi said, "Trap cards are light purple, and Magic cards are green. Each Trap and Magic card have different effects and attributes, so choose carefully on which Magic/Trap card you want.". He also told them the types of Magic Cards; Normal, Continuous, Field, Equip, Quick-Play, and Ritual cards. He showed them the Ritual card Commencement Dance, which was the card needed to bring out Performance of Swords. He next showed them the Field card Sogen, explaining that Warrior and Beast-Warrior types would gain an advantage and have their Attack/Defense points raised by 200. "This is very complicated, Yugi. Are you sure you can teach us this game?", Hitomi asked. She seemed overwhelmed by this; she had no problem fighting, but this was a whole new level and experience for her. He smiled warmly at her and replied, "Do not worry, Hitomi or any of you. You are all smart and quick-thinking ladies. I have confidence and faith in all of you.". This touched them all in a unique way. Yugi continued to explain that Trap cards were divided into these categories; Normal, Counter, and Continuous. He continued onto explaining the fundamentals, and also on how to play on the field. Christie and Ayane actually left their positions on the railings and went over to hear more. They were all intrigued on how smart Yugi seemed to be.

It went on for some time until it was actually 3:45 p.m.! They had been listening to Yugi for nearly three hours! The music they have been listening to went from Christina to How Crazy Are You? by Mejia, to Move It Like This from Baha Men, to Turn It Up by Raja-Nee, now going on This Is It by Innosense. Right now, Kasumi and Ayane were dueling against one another. 'If I can't beat Kasumi in fighting, defeating her in this beach volleyball tournament and this game should be enough for me.', Ayane thought. The Life Points were at: Kasumi- 450 and Ayane-700. It was a very close game, and Yugi was mildly surprised that they had caught on the game quickly. 'They are really quick and smart. I really like that in a woman.', he thought. Physical beauty was just not the only thing he admired. It was the other things in life he admired; wisdom, smartness, courage, strength, optimism, cheerfulness, energy, quickness, and much more. Each and every girl seemed to have all of the qualities. Suddenly, Ayane put in her final play and defeated Kasumi! "Yes! I won!", she cheered out. Kasumi took it well though, not bitter about losing to her sister in this game. Yugi smiled and said, "Congratulations, Ayane. Well done!". Ayane said thank you, then gave Yugi a kiss on the cheek. He blushed greatly, then turned to Kasumi. "You really did a great job for a beginner, Kasumi. Good job!". She smiled and thanked Yugi for the compliment. His reward was another kiss on the cheek, which made him turn red even more. 'It would be really tough to choose one as a girlfriend.', he thought. He quickly dismissed it, saying that these beautiful ladies could never love a simple boy like him. Wanna bet? Hitomi shouted, "Come on, everyone! Let's play some volleyball games before it gets dark!". They all agreed with that. Yugi was the last to leave the Poolside, gathering all of his cards back into his pack and tucking it safely underneath his semi-dry towel. "Wait up, everyone! I'm coming!", he shouted playfully as he ran after them. Little did anyone know this, but someone had spied on them this entire time.

~In Zack's suite~

Zack was very much angry at the moment. He had seen it all, thanks to some hidden cameras he had placed all around the island (even in the women's showers!). "What does that kid have that I don't?!", he exclaimed. He was so angry that Yugi had all of the girls' attention, but a sinister smile soon formed on his lips. "Heh, not to worry though. That will all change soon.", he chuckled to himself. He picked up a walkie-talkie and turned it on. He spoke, "How is the tracking going?". A gruff male voice answered, "So far, so good. None of them are on to me that I'm following them.". Zack chuckled evilly and replied, "Just make sure nobody sees you! And make sure what happens to Yugi is an accident, go it?!". The voice answered, "Got it. Over and out.". The walkie-talkie turned off, and Zack slowly strolled up to the window that overlooked everything. He saw that ladies and Yugi going off to Niki Beach. "Soon, little man… you will be begging to get off of this island. Hehehe… hahahaha… HAHAHAHA!!!", he shouted out loud.

~In Domino City~

Duke Devillin was entering Kaiba Co., ready to infiltrate and get the files from Seto's computer. 'I would use the laptop, but the info can only be accessed here.', he reasoned to himself as he walked along the busy halls. He added, 'Besides, since I'm Seto's business partner, this should be easy.'. He went into a room labeled Personal Information- Restricted to Unauthorized Personnel. Duke smirked, because he knew he was one of few that could actually gain entrance to the room. He went to the door, took out his personal ID card, and slid it through an electronic lock. After a few seconds, a buzz was heard and a female computer voice stated, "Sorry. ID not accepted.". Duke was confused. 'Why would it not accept me?! It didn't use to before!', he thought. He slid it through again, thinking it was a mistake. But, again, the computer rejected him. It was getting very frustrating for Duke now. Seven times he tried, seven times he failed. The computer kept telling him, "Go away, pal! This isn't going to work, so hit the road Jack!". He was becoming very annoyed and angry, and was on the verge of busting the door down physically! He growled in aggravation as he reached way back, ready to punch the door hard. His fist suddenly flew, but something happened. Within an inch of contact, the electronic lock light went from red to green. The door unlocked and the computer stated, "You have been accepted. Welcome, Duke Devillin.". Duke's eyes became tiny, black thin lines for a moment… then he did an anime drop. "That was weird.", he thought. He soon shrugged it off, and went to the huge computer before him. "Now, this should be a snap.", he told himself as he typed away.

In the Main Office way upstairs, Seto and Mokuba were laughing together at the scene they just saw. "Hahaha! That was great, big brother! That was just too sweet!", Mokuba laughed out. He was now rolling on the floor with laughter. Seto chuckled and replied, "I know, I know! It was just too amusing to see Duke get that frustrated!". The female computer voice spoke up from the terminal, "Hey, don't forget about me, Seto!". Seto still kept on chuckling as he said, "Don't worry, I won't. Thanks for the help, Peorth.". Mokuba and Seto, with Peorth's help, were able to pull a small prank on Duke. They were going to toy around with Yami and the others, making sure that they thought they were in control. But in reality, Seto and his little bro were going to be two steps ahead of all of them. "This should be most fun, Mokuba.", Seto said with a slight evil grin. 'Yugi deserves a vacation, and he's going to get it! I just hope I can hold Yami and the others here long enough for him to enjoy himself.', he thought.

(Author's Notes: Well, how was this? In this fanfic, this is going to go down deeper then mere physical attraction. Yugi's going to see and hear the others emotions, feelings, and also talents. They are soon going to pour out everything to him gradually, and that is going to make it tough for him.

Yugi: I am glad this is going to happen. I want to get to know the girls on a much emotional, higher level. I want to know everything about them.

Darien: You will get your chance, Yugi-boy!

Yugi: Also, the songs and artists listed here are also from the video game Dead Or Alive: Xtreme Beach Volleyball. You could actually play them on the game! Its really cool.

DJ: Oh, here is a question for you Yugi fangirls out there: What do you think about Yugi now? You like it that he wants to know the ladies on a level beyond mere physical beauty?

Darien: Also, some very suggestive foreplay will commence soon! So, don't worry any of you lime-lovers out there!

R&R, no flames, and enjoy!)
