Yugi- Dead Or Alive Volleyball Player?!

Epilogue- Part 2

Yugi showed his famous grin and answered, "Let's just say that I'm feeling the same way.". Kasumi's breath caught in her throat, literally. She inquired with a small squeak, "Y-You do? B-but, how?". Yugi sighed slightly, trying to adjust to a sitting position. He winced slightly because of his injuries, which haven't fully healed. Kasumi instantly went to his side, trying to make him comfortable. "Careful, Yugi.", she chided gently. Suddenly, her cheeks blushed a bright red at the action she had just committed. Her arm was wrapped tightly around Yugi's small waist, and her face was very close to his. Yugi chuckled slightly, seeing that she was red as an apple and very embarrassed on what she did. His face then turned semi-serious, and he started to explain himself. He started out, "Remember the night when we first gazed at the stars together on the boat?". Kasumi nodded, knowing full well that was a night never to be forgotten. He continued on, "Well, when I first met you… I felt something. It was warm, calm, soothing. I felt like my heart was beating fast, yet I also felt at peace.". Kasumi's breath was quickening slightly, as was her heart. The young man pushed onward, "Over the past few days, I've been trying to understand why I felt that way. It was then when I saved you and the others from the hotel… I felt a link.". Kasumi then realized on what he was talking about. 'I felt something too! It was almost like pain, and that was when Yugi was using his life force to sustain the sphere!', she thought. Yugi finished, "That's it when it hit me. I realized that… I had feelings for you. I still do.".

Kasumi now felt like the very air around her was sucked out of the room, finding it difficult to breathe. 'He… He has feelings for me?!', her mind screamed out. Yugi waited for her reply, but when he saw the shock on her face, his face instantly turned to that of sadness and shame. "I'm sorry if you don't feel the same way, Kasumi. I understand though. I mean, someone like you… ever even having feelings for a guy like me…", he said sadly. He assumed that she was shocked, and was about either to laugh or scoff at the notion that she would ever have feelings for him. Boy, was he in for a surprise. Kasumi grabbed him into a fierce, crushing hug, shaking him a little as tears poured down her face. "Thank you, Yugi! You don't know how much this means to me!", she whispered strongly in his right ear. Yugi was very much surprised by this, and his face showed it. After a few moments, she released her hold on him and looked him squarely in the eyes. "Yugi, I have had time to think about this too, just like you. Earlier on the boat, while you were out-cold, I figured it out. I… have feelings for you too.", she confessed. Yugi's violet eyes widened considerably. She then added, "Besides, like you, I could care less about the physical appearance of a person. I find the heart and soul more beautiful, and yours… are simply radiant.". Both seemed to be hypnotized with each other now, their eyes locked on one another's. The meaning of the declarations were slowly sinking into their minds. Slowly, as if drawn by an invisible magnet, they came together as their first kiss. It was tender and soft to them, but it was the sweetest kiss they had ever tasted. Why? Because it came from the heart, nothing more or less.

After what seemed to be an eternity, they slowly pulled back. Yugi opened his eyes, as did Kasumi, and both of them were just breathing rapidly. Their hearts were doing the same, but beating as one this time. Yugi chuckled, while Kasumi giggled. "That was… incredible.", Yugi whispered. Even though it was just a sweet, innocent child-like kiss, it was something much more to him and Kasumi. The buxom shinobi nodded timidly and replied, "Same here.". She then smiled playfully and asked, "Yugi, I would consider it a great honor… if you would become my boyfriend.". The young hero smiled warmly and replied, "My lady, I accept. I will try to be as good a boyfriend as I can be.". Kasumi returned the warm smile and hugged him again. She whispered in his ear lovingly, "I know you will be, Yugi. You already are the best man I know, thus I know you will the best boyfriend of them all.". Yugi returned the hug, a euphoric feeling coursing through his very being! All of a sudden, Kasumi released the hug and slowly crept to the door. Yugi was puzzled by this action and inquired, "Kasumi? What is it?". Stealthfully, she grabbed the knob, turned it, and flung the door open! To Yugi's amazement, their friends came piling inside the room! "Guys…", he started to inquire in a chiding, but playful like manner. He knew why they where there leaning on the door, and so did Kasumi. All of them chuckled nervously as they got up and pulled themselves together.

"Ah., sorry about that.", Tea stated. "We were just, ah, looking for the-?", Tristen started to say when Hitomi came on the scene. She chimed in, "Bathroom! Right, we were just looking for the bathroom!". They all left one-by-one, Mai being the last one out and closing the door. When it clicked shut, the two shook their heads in a playful manner. "At least they could have come up with a better excuse then that.", Kasumi commented lightly. Yugi chuckled, then attempted to rise from his bed. Kasumi quickly went over to him and gently forced him back down. "Save your strength, love. You need to rest.", she whispered to him. As she started to straighten the edges of the blanket, Yugi's hand reached out and took her own hand into his. He gently squeezed it and when the shinobi looked at the young man, he smiled and requested, "Would you mind if you just stayed with me, for a little while more?". She grinned widely and replied, "Nothing would make me happier.". Yugi scooted over some, and allowed for Kasumi to lie down next to him. She did just that, and soon snuggled up close to her love. Yugi's grin and eyes were now full of warmth and life as he gazed down at her. He stroked her soft red-brown hair lovingly, eliciting a seductive purr from the busty, sexy shinobi. Yugi chuckled, then snuggled down next to her, just holding her in his arms and enjoying every minute of being with his new girlfriend.

~Downstairs~

Everyone was just laughing it up, very much embarrassed for spying on Yugi and Kasumi like they just did. Serenity blushed lightly for her actions, then composed herself some. "Well, I'm glad that he and Kasumi got together. I think they make a cute couple.", she stated. Grandpa's chuckling died down some, but he was still enjoying the moment. "Same here. Its good to see that someone likes my grandson.", he added in. All of them started to then voice their own opinions on the subject at hand. "Kasumi will treat him right. She's always been the girl to take care of those she loves.", Lei Fang stated. Christie added, "Vice-versa, too. Yugi seems to be treat women and friends right.". Joey then asked, "Now that the adventure is over, what will you girls do next?". He inched his way over to Tina, but Mai grabbed him by the ear and painfully yanked him back to where she was. "Try that again, mister, and the question of ever having kids will come up.", she said with a glare. Joey sweatdropped as he smiled nervously, everyone also sweatdropping from the act. Lisa answered his question, "Well, I guess I need to find a new job. No way I'll ever work for Zack now.". Seto then offered, "How about a position in my company?". Laga and Peorth came on the laptop screen, which was now propped on the coffee table, and voiced their opinions. "We checked out your resume online, and you seem very qualified to have an executive position.", Laga informed Lisa. Peorth added, "You also seem to be trustworthy and hard-working, and that's what Kaiba Corp. needs.". Lisa smiled, then looked at Kaiba. "Mr. Kaiba, I accept your offer. I'll try to resign first, then I'll be able to go to work for you.", she told him.

After that little ordeal was taken care of, the other girls got to put in their answers to Joey's question. "I think I'll go exploring more of the world. I want to see what other people, places, and challenges await me.", Lei Fang declared. Hitomi replied, "I'll go with you. Now that I finished high school, I want to explore and travel too. I want to see everything before I go consider college.". All of them nodded, saying it was a good idea to gain a vast, broader view of the world. Tina said, "I guess I'll go back to the U.S., and try to give my modeling career a serious kick-start.". Tristen commented, "With a body like that, I have no doubt you can!". Tina lightly punched his right arm, thanking him for the compliment. He chuckled nervously, and said it was no problem. However, as soon as she turned away, the spiked brunette rubbed his arm to soothe it. 'Man, that hurt!', he thought. Helena said that she would pursue her passion for opera, and Yugi said that he would back her up 100%! Christie came in, "Now that I'm out of the assassin business, I guess I'll try to find some work that'll suit my talents.". A voice from upstairs suggested, "Why not work as one of Kaiba's security guards?". The entire lot stood up and looked to where the voice came from. It turned out to be Yugi, being helped and supported by his new girlfriend, Kasumi. Tea shot up quick and exclaimed, "Yugi! What are you doing up? You should be in bed resting!". Yugi chuckled lightly and replied, "Yes, I know. But, I didn't want to just lie around all day.". Kasumi smiled at them all and said, "I tried to talk him out of it, but when he gave me the "Puppy Dog Eyes"… I just caved in.". She laughed at that, as did the rest. Everyone knew that when Yugi gave his famous "Puppy Dog Eyes", it was all over for anyone.

Christie inquired, "Yugi, you want me to be a security guard for Seto's company?". Yugi was situated between Tea and Kasumi on the couch. He answered, "In a way. Perhaps you can use your skills as an assassin to good use. You could probably teach his security team and body guards some new techniques, get them into shape, that sort.". Seto cut in, "That's not a bad idea.". He looked at Christie and offered, "How about you come on board as my Captain of Security? You will have full control of security, weapons, everything. The pay will be whatever you think is best, and you could also teach my guards to become even more better and effective then before.". He remembered on how many of his guards betrayed him when Pegasus tried to take over those years ago, so he was hoping that Christie would also instill loyalty into his men. Christie thought about, then turned to Yugi for some encouragement. "You think I could do this, Yugi?", she asked. He smiled warmly and answered, "Christie, I know you can. I believe in you, and its time to believed in yourself as well.". That was all the encouragement she needed. She stood up proudly and extended her hand to Kaiba. She stated, "Mr. Kaiba, you got yourself a Captain here!". Seto stood up, shook her hand gratefully, and it was complete! Christie was now in charge of security for Seto Kaiba!

As the group talked on, Kasumi wanted to talk with her half-sister. "So, sister. Where are you going to do from here?", she inquired. Ayane shrugged and answered, "I guess I'll go back to the village, my home. Perhaps its time the assassin also went straight, this time as a teacher for the new generation.". Kasumi smiled, and hugged Ayane tight. "I know you'll be a great sensei to the students, Ayane.", she told her half-sibling. Ayane was still not used to this kind of treatment. In the past, she and Kasumi were always fighting to the death. Yet, Kasumi always triumphed. Now, they were now acting like real sisters. She broke the embrace, albeit reluctantly, and stood up from her seat. "I have to go now.", she said. Kasumi was about to protest, wanting her to stay. However, Ayane just put her hand up to stop anything she was about to say. "Don't worry, sister. We'll see each other again soon.", she said. Ayane bent down and gave Yugi a kiss on the cheek. "You take care of each other, okay?", she whispered to him. He nodded, and that was good enough for her. "Good-bye.", she said before leaving. However, as she went towards the front door, she felt a hand on her shoulders. She turned around, and was now face-to-face with Seto Kaiba. "Ayane, I want to thank you personally for what you and the others did for Yugi on that island.", he told her. She smirked and shrugged, replying, "It was my pleasure, Seto Kaiba.". They both looked into each other's eyes, and instantly, they felt something. It was like with Kasumi and Yugi; a tiny, distinct link and feeling. After a few moments of staring, they broke the gaze, looking a bit embarrassed. Seto cleared his throat and offered, "Before you go, how about dinner with me tonight? My treat.". She was about to say no, when she remembered something Kasumi told her once. It was, "Follow your heart, when it is matters of the heart.". Her smirk transformed into a smile and she replied, "I love to.".

~A year later~

It has been a year since the fateful day when Yugi went to Zack Island. The former DOA fighter himself, Zack, was found guilty on attempted murder and also reckless endangerment of his guests and staff's lives. He was sentenced to 2 years of jail time, and 6 months of community service after that. His empire, Zack Industries, merged with Kaiba Corporations, thanks to Lisa. She was now working at Kaiba Corp., and climbing the ladder of success quickly! Tina was now modeling and working with big time companies like Victoria's Secret. Her father was a bit upset at her decision to go for modeling instead of pro wrestling like him, but supported her and also backed her up when she needed it. Lei Fang had traveled nearly all across Asia, and was now starting a romantic friendship with Jann Lee. Hitomi traveled all over Japan, but soon settled down in a small community outside of Kyoto. She set up a dojo in the town, and was the best sensei that she could be. Her students, male and female, admired and respected her greatly. Back at Ayane's secret village, her people were proud of her. Like her father, she rose to the top quickly and was now the Master of the entire ninja clan. Christie was doing far better then she had ever hoped for. Working with Kaiba, she received a very generous paycheck each 3 weeks and also was able to turn Kaiba's men into tough-as-nails, hardcore-when-need-be bodyguards! Helena was now touring all over the world, an opera star and also #1 diva of the charts.

What about Yami and Co.? Well, Yami amended his ways and was now doing whatever he could to make it up to his hikari. Tea helped out also, her friendship towards Yugi back at full strength and also her love for Yami growing. Joey and Mai were now thinking about getting engaged, and Serenity was thrilled with the idea. Seto was busy with his work at Kaiba Corp., but not too busy with his new girlfriend Ayane! Mokuba was pleased that Seto was in a relationship, and also looked up to Ayane like a big sister when they first met. Cas still worked for Kaiba as a maid, but she didn't have a boyfriend. She wanted someone on Yugi's level, but so far none of the boys in the city fit the bill. Yugi was one of a kind. Laga and Peorth were still Kaiba's #1 virtual team in the world! Tristen got together with Miho, an old flame from long ago, and Duke hooked up with one of his cheerleader fanclub. Now, what ever happened to Kasumi and Yugi?

A quaint, small house was set up in the countryside, outside of Domino City but well within its limits. A couple was on a large swing that was set up on a large tree branch in the backyard, watching the city below them. The sun was setting, and the lights were coming on. Both in the sky, and on earth. The lights in Domino City gleamed brightly, as did the stars in the sky. However, they were just dim specks compared to the fire and passion burning in the eyes of the couple. The full moonlight and the porch light revealed them to be… Yugi and Kasumi. Even though Kasumi liked the city, the country and wide open spaces were more to her liking. So, Yugi and his friends built her a home with their bare hands six months ago. Thus, Yugi came here whenever he could to spend time with his love. He was now in college, going to Tokyo University. Their bond had grown stronger ever since, and their little romance was now starting to bloom into the flower of love. Yugi also taught her and Ayane, whenever she came around, the Duel Monster card game. In return, Kasumi taught Yugi some of her martial arts defensive moves. Now, the two were snuggling close together on the swing. "Mmmm. Its very beautiful and peaceful tonight.", the sexy shinobi whispered to her love. Yugi tilted her head up gently to meet his, and gave her a sweet kiss on the lips. "Its is beautiful, when you are here.", he told her. She giggled, then nestled in comfortably on his chest. "This year really has been something, Yugi.", she told him. He chuckled, remembering on what had occurred in the past, prior to the present. He hugged her close and replied, "It has, Kasumi. And I bet everyone coming to the reunion party tomorrow will think so too.". The two kissed once more, glad that they met each other, had adventures together, and also had their love and respect for one another.

(Author's Notes: Well, this was it! The finale, the grand ending, the climatic finish! So, how did you like it?

Yugi: Pretty short, but good nonetheless. So, Kasumi and me are together now, eh?

Darien: Yep, and also Ayane and Kaiba! Way to go, Seto! DJ likes to put in as much raw emotion as he can, but also try to be subtle about it.
