Across The Stars

Chapter 8: Hyperventilation explanation...and a couple more confused people...

 

~Megi-poo's P.o.V....>.>~

I freaked out a bit...Max was hyperventilating over the phone. Maxine doesn't hyperventilate for no reason! And she wasn't really...explaining everything all too well. "Max...calm down, why'd you call me now?" I repeated for the 123244543872397172391th time. "Kim's not picking up and Sarah was gone and, and, and...ohmigosh, Meg, it's crazy I don't know what to too I don't know what to do or to think she's just...there...and I'm scared and, and, and," she went on and continued to hyperventilate. "Alright...who is she?" I asked, sitting down. "Me," she whispered. "...you..." I said. "Me...I'm...staring at myself?" she asked. I blinked and stared at the ceiling, rolling my eyes lightly, wishing I'd never let Maxine drink,"Alright...Max...lay off the rum or the vodka or the whiskey or whatever it is you're drinking," I said sternly. "I'm not drunk Meg!" she shouted almost crying. I could tell...she was dead serious. "What's going on?" I repeated. "I...dunno..." she said and then a background voice commanded,"Let me talk to her, damnit!" I blinked again confusedly. The background voice sounded...the same as Max's. The phone clicked a bit then finally a breathless voice said,"Meg?" I stuttered,"Max?" I asked. "Alright...um...I got the phone from...the...other me? And...we're really confused here..." the...other Max said. "Alright...explain and I'll try to help..." I said hesitantly. We'd been through quite a lot of strange things together...but this...had to be the weirdest.

That's how I found out about alternate realm...people. InuYasha filled me in where the...two Max's left out. The reason the current Max was so confused was because she was the reality Max who had just broken free from her mom and left for college. The one who I'd just talked to, the Max that stole the phone from confused Max, was alternate dream reality Max. Basically, I was alternate dream reality realm world Meg and...yea all of us were living in a dream realm. Whereas, we had others like us, that were living in a reality that was just like we had lived...before everything.

Basically, as InuYasha had come to find, when they had come to our world all those years ago and burst into our living room of our crappy apartment...they had split realms. The only reason the two Maxine's had gotten switched was because Naraku coming to our dream realm again had switched the significant person (Maxine) with her other reality realm character. He had created another time realm split. So...in other words, simply, we had a time split to fix. In that time split, between our two realms, time was at a standstill which meant...we were stuck. InuYasha had only gotten dream realm Maxine back because...well that was his Max...and he had thought it was only right to send the reality realm Maxine back, because he loved her...no matter what realm she was from. So he had thought that getting dream Max back would send reality Max back to her realm.

Confused? So was I...or rather so am I.

So...after 15 hours of bloody confusion, fucked up flight plans and swearing at an idiotic cab driver or two, we arrived at InuYasha and Max's dorm, along with Sarah, Will and of course Rowan and Tory. Reality Max was in a daze. I would be too...and...I was. Considering, InuYasha had just come through the door followed by three girls. And in the rear, Kaiba and Kim came in carrying Reika and Aerylis. Kim and...Kim were exchanging odd looks. Other Meg took one look at me and yelled at InuYasha,"What the fuck are you getting at?!" and tried to get out the door. InuYasha was quicker and blocked the door. We put Rowan, Tory, Reika and Aerylis in the bedroom to play together and all of us sat around the kitchen/living room/...thingy place of the small dorm room. Other Max, Kim, Meg and Sarah were sitting side by side on the couch, staring at us. We sat across from them, in the same order, doing the same. This was too weird...I mean, I was looking at me.

InuYasha, Will, Jack and Kaiba made it more confusing. They had broken the realms, causing the time split. If they got here, they must know a way to make things right, right? Wrong.

So all of us just sat and stared...in...utter and complete confusion.
