Across The Stars

Chapter 13: Another surprise from an unexpected not-so-strange stranger, a fainting spell...

~...three weeks later...~

~Max's P.o.V.~

It'd been three weeks since Jake's unexpected yet seen to come proposal. We weren't married but we'd been living together ever since. It was odd and had happened so fast. I already had a job at Hot Topic in the mall, enough to pay for a rent, so I'd moved out of the dorm and gotten a small, but cozy-ish apartment. He'd somehow transfered and was now a student at my college and was looking for a job.

And we lived together. Alone. Together...

It was now 11 AM and I'd just rolled myself out of bed. It was a dreaded Monday. I had class in an hour...and Jake was still asleep. He'd stay asleep until at least 1 or 2 in the afternoon...if I had nothing to do with it. But I was Maxine. So I woke him up.

I leaned over and kissed his neck gently, letting my fingers go across his stomach lightly,"Wake up..." I whispered. "Why..." he groaned, rolling over. I smirked,"Because if one of us has to wake up, then both of us have to?" I suggested. "Wrong answer, love," he replied, kissing me on the lips and closing his eyes. I fwapped him lightly with a pillow,"Don't you go back to sleep," I said. "Whatever happened to the good old days when I could sleep in with no one trying to wake me up earlier than I really needed to?" he asked, smiling. "Those days are overrated," I replied, hopping out of bed and digging around for clothes. I pulled out jeans, my black and pink Vans, and a white 'boy beater' that said,'I'm too cool for math' in pink on it. I got dressed within 5 minutes...and finally settled on throwing my hair up into a pony tail after 15 more minutes. I slipped on a black zip-up hoodie that was a bit too big for me, so I was convinced it was Jake's, especially after I smelled a bit of his cologne on it. I didn't exactly care though and zipped it up half-way then stuffed some books into my red, tattered, patch covered backpack.

I looked up to say something to Jake, but he was asleep again. I had 20 minutes to drive to the campus and run to my class...

So I procrastinated, deciding to be late, and rolled halfway on top of Jake, kissing the back of his neck,"Wake up," I whispered. "Later," he whispered back, then,"...you smell like me." I laughed lightly,"I stole your jacket, is that okay?" I asked, hugging him from the back. "You bought it?" he asked. "Probably?" I replied. He sighed,"I need a job," he muttered. "Well, get up..." I whispered, kissing his neck again,"And don't worry about it."

Just as I spoke those words...a knock came on the door. He rolled out of bed (with a little help from me...yes, I'm awful, I pushed him) and I got to the door. I opened it, expecting Kim...but no. "Inu...Inu...Inu..." I stuttered. "What the hell are you doing back in this time...warp...area place, Maxine?!" he shouted. "InuYasha?" I whispered. And indeed it was InuYasha. "Wait...I'm in the right realm..." I muttered, as he grabbed my arm. Jake came into the room just as I was being dragged outside into the December air. He looked at me questioningly then saw InuYasha...who was mumbling about someone missing and the time skip not fusing together and Jack's ship falling into the crack or something. "Wait...what? I'm in the right realm! I'm supposed to be here! This is how it was supposed to be since I was 16!" I screamed. But I didn't scream it out loud. I couldn't speak...because I felt so...tired.

I fell to the ground, motionless. Jake's and InuYasha's voices filling my head and fading...

 

~Weird eh? What's weirder...these won't be posted for quite awhile, haha...
