Bottle of Rum, Pills and Fate
Chapter 18: The struggles of the rooms, the mystery unfolds and the fate of the four friends...

~Sarah's P.o.V.~
We all were still in the red room with black candles. But the candles were melting down and were burning out. Max, Meg and me all stayed close, back to back to watch out...for...anything. One candle blew out with a blast of cold air that surrounded us suddenly. Then they all went out and something hit me in the back of the head. I thought I had died...
I woke up in a glowing room this time. Meg was stirring beside me, thank goodness. Maxine was already sitting up, her face tinted green. She was clutching her leg with her head against the wall. This glowing room had white curtains around doors. Blood was staining the curtain that Max was leaning against. Her head was bleeding. Every bone in my body ached but I was thankful to be in what seemed to be a safe room. At least I could see in this one unlike the dark skeleton room. I put my hand on the back of my pounding head. It was wet...I took my hand off and looked at it. I was bleeding too. Whatever had hit me earlier had hit me really hard. I looked at Meg. Her eyes were open. "I am getting REALLY FUCKING SICK OF GETTING KNOCKED OUT!" she shouted, slamming her fists onto the floor. "Meg, don't swear..." I whispered, "We have to get out of here." I closed my eyes and rubbed my temples, my head was pounding really hard now. Then something landed on me,"OW!" Meg screamed with Max. I opened my eyes, stars blinking in my vision. "Shh...it's fine..." Max whispered. I looked at her, she was holding a small glass bottle. I looked at my hands and saw one in my hands as well. Meg was holding one too. "What the hell...?" I whispered. Meg popped off the cap and smelled it,"Rum..." she whispered, looking at us nervously. "Don't drink it..." Max whispered. "Why?" I asked. "Because...think about it Sarah...I mean...we're in a place and we don't know who brought us here...why should we trust a single drop of rum?" Meg said. I nodded lightly and set the bottle at my feet. Max set hers down and leaned her head against the wall,"I'm going to pass out...I swear to God..." she muttered, staring at the ceiling. Meg and me talked to her to keep her awake, the last thing we needed was her, with her broken, completely screwed up leg, passed out...so we just talked. And waited...for who knows what...
~Kim's P.o.V.~
I never heard Max come back, nor InuYasha. That's what I remembered when I woke up. The room I was in was like a torture chamber. And I don't mean kinky, I meant violent. Twisted skeletons were still strapped to the devices as if they had been forgotten and left to rot. Some had decaying skin left on them still. I coughed in the stench. A door was on the other side of the room, next to a bracket holding a torch. I stepped nervously towards it and it creaked open. I got knocked over the head with something hard and heavy. I woke up possibly hours later and struggled a bit. I was strapped to a menacing looking device. Little needles surrounded my body and caged me in. I immediately regretted struggling. The needles seemed to be dripping. I realized after a moment that it was my blood. I had literally stabbed my neck in my unconciousness. I couldn't move an inch and couldn't look around to see where the sounds around me were coming from. I would've been too terrified to look anyway. The sounds were screams and then the silence following was even more deafening. What had happened...I tried to remember fully...Max and InuYasha were taking too long...way too long...and I drifted to sleep and had dreamt something weird. Everyone had been in the dream except me...they acted they couldn't see me...and Seto had been struggling in Jack's, Will's and InuYasha's grips. Who was he trying to get to? I wasn't even sure...
But what had happened to get me here...in this fucking situation? I heard a scream in my dream...was it my own? Was I still in the dream...
Something had let me go and slide to the ground. I felt drained. I looked up and saw the needle cage I had been in earlier. The needles were dripping with so much fresh blood all over. I collapsed to the ground, my head spinning and my eyes clouding. I heard a disorientated voice and then I was gone...not dead just gone...
I came back to consciousness after what seemed to be hours. I finally understood what Meg meant when she had told us how sick and tired she was of passing out. It was getting fucking annoying and my head was pounding. I opened my eyes slowly and saw myself. I screamed and the room seemed to shudder. It was just my reflection. A lot of reflections. I was in a room made of mirrors. I could've handled that but on the ground, the mirrored floor was cracked and splintered and blood was streaked across it. My stomach gave a sickening lurch. This blood wasn't mine. I prayed silently that it was neither Meg nor Max nor Sarah and hoped they hadn't been here or even had the same dream as me. Tears rolled down my face as I thought to myself, 'What if I never get out of here...Reika and Aerylis...and Seto...they'll be alone...' I shook it from my mind. I couldn't think like that. I had to find a way out of this fucking nightmare. I wiped my eyes and looked around, standing up and stepping towards the walls. The walls were a lot further away then I expected, so far that the time I reached a wall I had to actually stop and catch my breath a bit. I walked along the wall, running my hands along it as I tried to find something...anything...
Minutes turned into hours...and finally I found a notch in the glass. Only because it sliced my palm open. "Fuck..." I muttered, tearing off my shirt sleeve and wrapping it around the deep, bleeding cut, using as a glove while I pulled on the notch. The glass panel shuddered and cracked. I pulled harder and it slid open, showing a small compartment with a smaller see-through glass wall. I thought about mine and Max's jokes about the Phantom of the Opera and the rigged mirror. This was stalker status mirror. I looked into the red room, the dim light from the mirror room lighting it up slightly. Burnt out black candles were still smoking. I leaned more forward and stumbled through the mirror. I turned around and the mirror seemed to fog over so I could only see my reflection. The light from the mirrored room faded away and I was left in darkness. "Shit!" I said, waving my hands around. The black candles burst back alight around me and my gaze fell on the mirror right away. I didn't trust it anymore. I sat beside it, out of veiw if anyone would be in there. I sat in silence, glancing around tiredly. My whole body ached as if the needles had drained me of all my willpower. I couldn't move or think and my eyelids seemed to be weighing down. My head spun and I gave out.
I woke up to a scream. Three screams, just screaming together. I opened my eyes slowly and looked up. I was staring at the ceiling...and Meg and Sarah looking down at me. "Look at her...is she okay?" Sarah asked. "I don't know, she might be worse off than Max right now..." Meg whispered. "What's wrong with Max?" I found myself saying instantly. "I'm fine, lie back down Kim," Max said. I was indeed standing up and walking towards her. I was reacting before my brain realized I was. My body shook and I turned back to look at the mirror. My face was pale and my eyes were bloodshot. There were little marks all over my arms and legs and I was dressed in a black dress. A black wedding dress complete with a black veil. I turned back to look at Meg, Sarah and Max. They were wearing the same get-up as me except Max had wrapped her veil around her leg. "The mirror is two-way, there's another room on the other side, we can get out..." I said. "No...I came from that way Kim...every mirror leads somewhere else I think...I only stopped hear because Meg and Sarah were here. We moved once and came back to find you..." Max said quietly. She stood up and winced,"Plus...every way I went brought hell, this is the safest room so far..." she added. I slumped down, putting my head in my hands, my mind catching up with my body. Max limped across the room towards the mirror and punched it, the glass splintering. "What are you doing?" I asked, raising my head. She punched it again, making it crack down the middle, tears were rolling down my face, "This is my fault...I'm fucking sick of this stupid place and the stupid mysteries and deceit and everything about this fucking place...and it's my fault!" she said. She slumped down and shook her head, crying silently, her form shaking, "I started this...in my dreams...and it came true, Kim...it had to come fucking true..." she whispered, "This was our fate ever since we started joking about marrying our husbands now...because it was all a joke...and our fate is set...this is a joke...the last joke..." Meg and Sarah looked horrifyed. "That's not true...I love Will..." Sarah said shakily. "Max...you're hurt and you lost a lot of blood...you need rest..." Meg said uneasily. Max was sobbing now, her whole pale, small form shaking. This...couldn't be our fate...there couldn't be a mystery...we just needed to wake up from a stupid nightmare...
~I know...crazy eh? Well...a bit of a cliffy, just leaves you on the edge of the seat, doesn't it? Hah...till next time...~
