Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan Fiction / InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Jounouchi Katsuya, Hanyou ❯ Trapped In A Duel To The Death ( Chapter 13 )
To my readers: I am deeply sorry that it's been so long since I've updated, I've had a long last
few weeks of summer. 1) My dad cancelled the Internet on me without more than a day's
notice, 2) I'm moving, 3) I have a huge work load for school, the admin staff at school decided
to give me all my hard classes, Bio, Ancient Civilizations, Finances and Law, all in a huge
mess, with huge text books and many papers to write. Lastly, I was having huge writer's block,
I truly didn't want to end the story, yet, I know all good things must come to an end. My
girlfriend Nikky helped me through all the shit that I've been dealing with, including a two
week period where my blood sugar level (I'm boarderline diabetic) bottomed out and I was
bedridden (not like that - hentai!)
When I was bedridden, I have to say that I felt like Miroku for a few days, I was delerious from
a very high fever. Constantly having mood swings, hot flashes, my mom said that I was going
through menopause early *rolls eyes* but, nope, just hanging on the brink of life and death. But,
please don't fret or worry or feel bad for me, I'm used to it, which is kinda sad in a way. So, that
gave me some inspiration.
This is the second to last chapter, the next is the epilouge, type thing. I hope you enjoy this
chapter, I worked very hard on it, it was very difficult to write.
Anyways, that's enough of my ramblings, onwards!
See you at the bottom!

Jou ran out of the shrine, his ears tuned to any sounds that were unfamiliar to his hyper
sensative hearing. InuYasha strode up beside him, "we have to protect the others." Jou nodded,
still surveying the area,
"alright, get Seto to protect his friends, I'm going after Kagura." With a nod from both Miroku
and InuYasha, Jou ran forward, raising his sword to strike, before leaping in the air and striking
downwards. As he landed he growled, straightening and whirling around, facing the Wind
Sorceress, Kagura smirked raising her fan,
"Dance Of Blades!" Jou jumped kicking off a tree and spinning through the air, he landed on the
other side of her, catching the female demon off guard, he swung the sharpened blade and
slicing clean through her tender flesh, the black blood oozing onto the cool metal. Jou turned,
looking at the others, they seemed to be fending against the onslaught of demons, he was going
after Naraku. He sensed presence behind him, smelling Naraku's foul odour he took a breath in
and froze at the sight that greeted him, he stumbled back in shock, eyes wide. The name
passing his lips in a faint whisper as he stuttered and choked on the air,
"S-Sango?" The petite Geokenetic smiled, stepping towards him, her face still pale, eyes still
deep and loving, but they lacked their warmth, her lithe frame was adorned in her white shirt
with the red markings and the green skirt.
She was back, alive, in front of him, his best friend, his Sango, she placed a lock of hair
behind her ear, even her hand wraps were back, her Hirokostu still slung on her back, the
same as it was when he last saw her. "Kat-kun, why so surprised, I told you we'd meet again
one day." Jou shook his head, trying to rid himself of the illusion, Sango was dead, he heard her
laugh, a sound he had wished to hear for so long, "what's wrong, I'm really here." A cool hand
took his own, he instantly snatched his hand back, she was so cold, Sango looked at Jou, eyes
filling with tears, "why are you afraid of me?"
"You're not Sango, Sango's dead."
"No, I'm right here, can't you see that, it's me Kat-kun, it's Sango." Jou shook his head,
squeezing his eyes shut,
"stop staying that name!" A low chuckle emitted from the trees aurrounding the area, pressing
in on him,
"why, it too painful, to, real?" Jou raised his head, looking at Sango, her eyes now glassy,
hollow, Naraku walked up behind her, smirking at Jou, "amazing isn't it, what power can do,
along with a little bit of dirt and bones, you should be glad to see your friend again, too bad,
now you're going to have to kill her." Jou gave a low growl, Naraku lowered his head towards
Sango's ear, "kill him."
Jou dodged a swipe from her fist, flipping back and landing a few feet away, she ran at
him, pulling the large boomerang off her back and pulling her arms over her head. Jou dodged
her blows, never wanting to strike her back, even if it was no longer his friend. The female
advanced on him, kicking him in the stomach, he flew back, landing and rolling a few feet
before stopping with a grunt. She laughed, "weak, always were, always will be, you won't
even strike me back." Her weapon struck him in the stomach and he gave a gasp as the air
rushed out of his body, "I'm not going to kill you yet, first, I'm going to start with InuYasha, then
Miroku, lastly, that girl, Chelle, you're going to watch them all die, then, I'm going to send you
to hell." Jou groaned, rolling over onto his stomach, pushing himself up, no one, no matter who,
threatened his loved ones,
"save me a seat." He thrust his blade forwards, into her chest, she gave a gasp, blood trickling
from her mouth, she squinted, her eyes clearing,
"Jou?" She fell to the ground, body dissolving into the dirt it was made of, Jou coughed, wiping
his own blood from his mouth as he walked back to the others, almost reaching them before
Chelle's call,
"Jou-san, lookout!"
Before Jou could react he felt a sharp sting as claws ripped into his back, he fell
forwards crying out in agony, crashing on his knees full force. As he lifted his head he saw
InuYasha lash forwards, a familiar scent tickling his nose and he noted the swirl about the
Tetsiegua, "Wind Scar!" A screech sounded and Jou stood, leaning on Miroku a moment before
getting his own footing, Miroku surveyed him,
"you okay?" Jou nodded, grunted as his body attempted to heal itself,
"peachy." He straightened and unsheathed Tokijin, the blade's red aura pulsating, he swung it
in an arch before grasping the hilt with both hands and narrowing his eyes, smirking at a
demon, "let's dance." He moved to run forward but stopped at a hand on his shoulder, turning
to face Kyami, she shook her head,
"let yourself heal, InuYasha, get the Neko." With a nod the Hanyou ran towards the tiger, Jou
frowned,
"I'm fine." Kyami rolled her eyes, applying pressure to his shoulder, he grunted, being forced to
his knees,
"no you're not, stay back, protect Chelle, heal or you'll get yourself killed."
Jou tossed a glance at Miroku, who nodded, Jou sighed but took a few steps back,
watching as others faught, holding himself back as his friends fell, as those he loved died. The
world spun about him and he wavered on his feet, only then did he note the posion coursing
through his system, the reason he wasn't healing. He reached out weakly, "Mi...ro...ku." With a
sigh he fell to his knees, collapsing to the ground, Miroku ran to his side,
"Jou!" The monk placed is hands on the bloodied chest, sighing in relief as he felt a heart beat,
he stiffened, pulling his staff off his back and whirling around, holding it out, across his chest.
Electricity crackled as the demon contacted the barrier he fabricated, the only shield he had
against the evil, he grunted, falling further onto his knees, shutting his eyes in strain. He took a
deep breath and pushed back, trying to stand, the resistance built, the demon never weakening,
Miroku gave a cry as he landed, sprawled on the ground, still holding his ground. His eyes
scanned for help and he smirked, "Chelle, sweetie!" The young Neko turned his way, "I need
you to do me a favour."
"Anything for Miroku-san." Miroku smiled, fighting against the oncoming force,
"good girl, I need you to be strong and brave, for me, for Jou, for everyone, can you do that?"
She gave a nod, transforming into her true self, a loud yowl emerging from her throat, "good,
now, the demon atop me, pounce on him." Her legs braced and with a low growl she sprang
forward, tackling the other Neko, Miroku collapsed with a sigh, before standing, smiling at the
girl who battled the other with all her might, before he turned back to Jou. The blonde gave a
grunt, eyes forcing themselves open, he gave a smile,
"Roku." Miroku crouched down, pressing a finger to Jou's lips,
"shhh, hush, rest, heal, I've got you."
"Chelle?"
"She's fine, safe." Jou squinted,
"'Yasha?" The other Hanyou crouched beside Miroku,
"I'm here." Jou squinted, ears swiveling,
"I-I can't s-see you." Miroku placed a hand on Jou's cheek, the blonde Hanyou whimpered,
nuzzling into it, Miroku stroked the cheek with his thumb, Jou took a deep breath, "guys?"
Miroku leaned down,
"we're here, it's gonna be okay." Jou shook his head,
"n-new moon."
Miroku cursed, Jou was right, it was the new moon, both he and InuYasha were human
that night, Jou placed his hand over Miroku's, "it's Naraku's fault, we all know it, I accept my
fate, as should you."
"Sesshoumaru-" Jou shook his head, cutting InuYasha off,
"don't bother, I've lived long enough, longer than most, I've had more, just do one thing."
Miroku allowed his chin to tremble,
"what?"
"Make him pay." Miroku nodded,
"on my life." Jou gave a weakened cough,
"I'll be waiting, love you, sayanora." His head lolled to the side, hair bleeding into deep brown,
Miroku sobbed, pressing a soft kiss to Jou's lips, removing his hand he straightened,
"'Yasha?" Turning Miroku's eyes widened at the sight, coal red eyes stared into his own, even
though he was supposed to be human, InuYasha's demon side had emerged, Miroku took a
small step back, "'Yasha?" InuYasha's head tilted to the side, his ears twitching, he gave a soft
snarl,
"Naraku...must...pay." With that the now black haired Hanyou, turned and bolted off, Miroku
ran forwards,
"InuYasha! Wait, please, be careful!" Miroku sobbed softly, adding quietly, "you're all I have
left."
Kyami ran over as Miroku collapsed to the ground, she too fell to the grass, "Miroku,
Miroku, you must be strong, for Jou."
"It hurts."
"I know, I know it hurts." Miroku shook his head,
"no, my hand, it's burning." Kyami took Miroku's right hand,
"your Wind Tunnel, it's expanding, Miroku, run!" With one last forlorn look at Jou, Miroku
stood, then ran off as fast as he could, before getting tackled, he faught to free himself from the
demon, he had to get away from the others, to give them a chance. His eyes blurred as the pain
grew, as he knew death approached, he saw the world pass in slow motion, Kouga collapsed
to his knees as Sesshoumaru's true form crashed to the ground, blood coating the grass in the
surrounding area. InuYasha was fighting against legions of demons to get to Naraku, getting
dragged into the abysses of darkness, being consumed by the demons who surrounded him.
Miroku gave a loud cry of warning, telling everyone to run, get as far from him as possible as
the intense burning grew, as his Wind Tunnel spread beyond his control, he heard a loud
howling the wind he possessed was now consuming him. With one last cry, one last plea to the
world, to those who cared, Mioku vanished, a silence passing before a deafening howl and
whip crack, the world exploding before his eyes as his body was ripped apart, limb from limb, no
pain as he was now numb. Sucking in the demon, Naraku, InuYasha, Jou, Sesshoumaru, Kouga,
and fleets of evil, others fled, feeling nothing more than a strong gust of wind as their loved ones
vanished.
*****************
Kyami blinked, waiting for the excrucating pain to subside, she fell limp onto the floor,
hands clutched viciously in her hair, to the point where her temples throbbed. The dull white
vanished and she blinked once again, trying to clear her head, regain her lost vision. A blurry
figure moved into her line of sight and it began to clear, a pale purple haired girl, around
twenty crouched down, pressing a cloth to Kyami's head,
"are you alright?"
"Yes, yes I'm fine."
"Are you sure, you gave us quite the scare." Kyami nodded, smiling softly,
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you, help me up, I'd like to go back to my room." She was
helped upright and she began to walk down the halls, looking at the closed doors of the shrine,
she paused at one. Pressing her hand to the wood, murmuring a soft prayer, blessing InuYasha,
Jou and Miroku, a chuckle sounded from the girl,
"Kyami, are you alright, would you like this room tonight, I should've known, you're always
switching." Kyami furrowed her brow,
"switching?" The woman nodded,
"you've been doing it forever." Kyami sagged against the wall,
"I haven't switched rooms since I was a child." She murmured the sentance to herself, the other
girl studied her,
"Kyami, are you sure you're okay?" Kyami gave a nod,
"fine." They began walking again and entered a room, Kyami lay on the bed, another chuckle
sounded,
"that's my bed silly." Again Kyami squinted, this girl, who was she, she seemed so familiar, yet,
she was so different at the same time,
"sorry, I'm just a little disoriented." The other sat on the bed, wrapping an arm about her
shoulders,
"well, after a doozy like that who wouldn't be?"
"Doozy?" The girl rolled her eyes,
"your vision baka, my, my, little sister, was it that strong, did you forget who you are?" Kyami's
eyes widened, vision, sister, she grabbed a mirror and examined her reflection, putting a hand
to her cheek, she was a teenager again, it was all a vision, none of it had happened, not yet
anyway. "Sister, should I summon mother?" Kyami shook her head,
"no, no, it's not needed Ayumi."
"You sure?"
"Quit asking that, how long was I out?"
"Almost half a day, would you like something, soup, tea?" Ayumi stood, "mixed berry, two honey, one milk, right?" Kyami's vision flashed to Jou and she shook her head,
"no, I'm just tired, I'm going to take a nap okay?"
"Alright, I'll be in later to check on you." Kyami nodded, Ayumi walked to the door, "I'm in the
den if you need me, alright?" Kyami nodded once again, settling down, "oh, Kyami?"
"What?"
"Your vision, what was it about?" Kyami sighed,
"nothing interesting, I don't want to bore you, maybe another time."
"Alright, sleep well."
"Thank you."
Kyami sighed, rolling over in bed, she had to prevent that vision from happening, or, at
least the end of it, it was so horrible, so, sad. She allowed her eyes to shut, her dreams floating
about her, dreams of magic, love, dreams of two Inu Hanyou and a ningen monk.
