Chapter 5

 

 

 

Round one is still going on. Dylan finally made it to the tournament brackets and saw that there was still 8 match ups left. His eye caught onto 2 nearby matches going on. Just then, he saw Yugi about to duel his opponent, Manny.

Dylan ran over to Yugi and asked him to watch his duel. Yugi, nodded and agreed for Dylan to watch his duel. Dylan smiled and got excited to finally watch Duelist Kingdom's and Battle City's champion duel. Dylan sat down, watching Yugi. He saw Yugi's opponent, Manny. He was average sized, about 5'1, and he was wearing just blue jeans and a plain black t-shirt.

 

Manny smirked. “Ready to duel, Yugi?” Yugi nodded as his millennium puzzle glowed brightly. Suddenly, Yugi got taller. “May I go first Yugi?” Manny asked. “Sure,” said Yugi simply.

 

Manny: 4000

Yugi: 4000

 

Manny drew his sixth card. “I'll start things off by activating Perfect Beginnings. It can only be activated during my first turn. It sets both out life points at 8000.”

 

Manny: 8000

Yugi: 8000

 

“Next, I'll summon Mage of Enlightenment (400/1300) in defense mode to end my turn.”

Yugi drew. “Now I summon Gazelle King of Mythical Beasts! (1500/1200) in attack mode! Now, Gazelle, attack his Mage now!”

The large beast charged towards the magician, slashing it in 2 with it's claws. “By doing that, you've allowed me to get Extaleus the Tempest Warrior from my deck to my hand.” Manny said while putting the card into his hand.

“Your move Manny” Yugi stated.

Manny drew. “Goody, Now I summon Extaleus the Tempest Warrior (1200/1300) in attack mode!” “That monster is too weak,” Yugi stated. “Let me finish Yugi. Whenever this monster does damage to you, I get a Smash Ace from my deck. Now I activate, Tempest Wings, which increases Extaleus's attack by 400 and I draw one card when he does damage. So Extaleus (1600/1300) attack his Gazelle!”

The large warrior charged towards the Mythical creature, slashing him in two.

 

Manny: 8000

Yugi: 7900

 

“Now I draw a card and add a Smashing Ace to my hand. Next I'll lay one card face down to end my turn.”

Yugi drew. “Now I summon Beta the Magnet Warrior in attack mode and I'll have him attack your Extaleus now!”

“Haha, I activate Smashing Ace! This negates your attack, then my Extaleus's attack is increased by 100! (1700/1300)”

Yugi growled “To finish my turn, I'll activate Life Reform to reset both our life points at 4000 and end my turn.”

 

Manny: 4000

Yugi: 4000

 

Manny drew. “Your monster is finished now. I activate Tempest Blaster! This card increases my Extaleus's attack by 200 for every Smashing Ace in my graveyard, and I count one.” Extaleus (1900/1300)

Yugi stared at the warrior. “My Beta is done for…”

“Got that right Yugi. Extaleus attack!”

 

Manny: 4000

Yugi: 3800

 

“Now I get another Smashing Ace from my deck and add it to my hand and draw a card, and I think I'll set one card face down to end my turn” Manny laughed manically.

“I draw” Yugi stated as he drew his card and looked at his hand blankly. “I summon Big Shield Guardna in defense mode! (100/2600) That does it for me Manny.”

“Oh goody,” Manny drew. “Pathetic that all you can do is defend. I'll just lay this card face down and activate my Tempest Blast! This card will destroy 1 card on the field if I have my Extaleus on the field. Bye Big Shield. Sadly playing this card ends my turn.”

Yugi drew as he thought to himself “his monster is strong, but I think I have a plan.” Yugi then spoke aloud. “I play Dark Magic Curtain! This lets me summon a Dark Magician to the field for half my life points.”

 

Manny: 4000

Yugi: 1900

 

A large purple spell caster appeared to the field. “Now Dark Magician! Attack his Extaleus!”

“Reveal Smashing Ace! Again, your attack is stopped and my Extaleus's attack increases by 100 and another 200 from my Tempest Blaster!” Extaleus: (2200/1300)

“Now I'll activate my Thousand Knives! Which will immediately destroy your Extaleus!”

Many knives flew threw the air directly towards the large warrior until a mysterious green barrier destroyed the knives.

“Too bad Yugi, I activated my Spell Barrier and as long as this card is on the field, no spell cards affect my Extaleus!”

Yugi growled. “I lay a card face down to end my turn”

Manny drew a card. “I activate Tension Grounds! This field card lets me play as many Spell and Trap cards as I want! Now I'll lay 2 cards face down to end my turn.”

Yugi drew. “Dark Magician attack his Extaleus now!”

The purple Spell caster lifted up his staff and hurled a large black ball of energy towards the equipped warrior.

“You fall for it every time Yugi. Reveal my final Smashing Ace! Another 300 attack for my Extaleus thanks to Tempest Blaster and Smashing Ace.” Extaleus: (2500/1300) “Both of our favorite monsters are equally matched now Yugi.” Manny laughed.

“I still have trust in my cards that I will beat you.” Manny interrupted with a laugh. “Please Yugi, you have no trust for your cards. You just throw them down and have them get destroyed. Unlike me, I help my monster succeed. I give him weapons and armor and help him. I trust my Extaleus, trust is something you'll never learn Yugi.”

Yugi stared and didn't say anything as he ended his turn.

Manny drew. “I activate Armor Fist now. Increasing my Extaleus's attack and defense by 200. (2700/1500) Now Extaleus! Destroy his Dark Magician now!”

“Activate Mirror Force!” Yugi stated boldly. “Not so fast! I activate Trap Barrier now. This protects Extaleus from all trap cards!”

The large warrior rushed towards Dark Magician, breaking through the trap card and hitting Dark Magician in the face with the large iron fist equipped onto him immediately smashing it into pieces.

 

Manny: 4000

Yugi: 1700

 

“Your move Yugi.”

Yugi picked up his card slowly and looked at it. “I lay one card face down and summon Queen's Knight in defense mode! (1500/1600) Your move”

Manny slid a card off his deck. “Another pathetic monster. Extaleus attack!”

The warrior shattered the equipped female with ease.

“I lay one card face down. Your move.”

Yugi drew. “Your Extaleus is finished. I activate my Monster Reborn on my Dark Magician! (2500/2100) Now reveal face down card, Collected Power! This takes all the power you got from your cards and adds it to my Dark Magician!” Dark Magician (3900/2700) Extaleus: (1200/1300) “Now eliminate his Extaleus”

The Spell caster flew towards the large warrior eliminating it with its staff.

 

Manny: 1300

Yugi: 1700

 

“Good move Yugi. I'll compliment you there. Not good enough to beat me though. And it's my turn!” Manny shouted as he drew his card. “Hmmm, I'll start off by activating, Speed Trap, I discard a card from my hand to play a trap from my hand, and It's Call of the Haunted. Hahahaha. Now I return my Extaleus to the field!”

The large warrior appeared onto the field, looking wimpy without any equipped cards.

“Now, I'll activate Collected Power, Just like you! Extaleus (2700/1300) Dark Magician: (2500/2300) Extaleus, attack his Dark Magician!”

 

Manny: 1300

Yugi: 1500

 

“I'm done with my turn Yugi.”

Yugi drew as he thought to himself. “Yes, Eternal Rest, but as long as he has the Spell Barrier on the field, I can't destroy his Extaleus with any spell cards, but I have a plan!” Yugi then spoke aloud. “I activate my Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy your Spell Barrier!” A lightning bolt tore through the barrier immediately shattering it. “Now, I activate Eternal Rest! This card destroys all monster that are equipped.” Fierce winds blew towards Extaleus, shattering him into several pieces.

“Noooo, my Extaleus…” Manny said sadly as he fell to his knees. “You destroyed my Extaleus.. you'll pay… observe. When my Extaleus is destroyed by a card effect, I can summon this.. Immortal Reshef.(900/900) in defense mode.” The small black spirit floated while covering itself in defense.

“Now, you'll pay. This monster can't be destroyed in battle. Also, as long as Extaleus is in the graveyard, every turn I inflict 500 points of damage to you.”

Yugi frowned. “I summon Gamma the Magnet Warrior in defense mode and it's your move, Manny.

“I draw, then my Reshef inflicts 500 damage to you.”

 

Manny: 1300

Yugi: 1000

 

“Now I'll end it. I activate Armor Explosion. This will inflict 300 damage to your life points for every equip card in my graveyard, and I count 7.”

 

Manny: 1300

Yugi: 0

 

“I win Yugi,” Manny stated as Yugi fell to his knees.

“How… could I lose..” said Yugi sadly as a tear dropped down from his eye. Manny simply walked off.
