Angelbaby: Hey. I think I finally know where this is going. So here is my next update and I hope you enjoy it.

WFW- you don't have to tell me how much you love my story…but it does make me feel so much better knowing someone does. So I would love if you did continue to tell me.

I don't own YuGiOh.

Yami woke up and turned toward his balcony window seeing the sun out and bright. He sighed knowing he would have to go out and make an appearance at the festival. The smell of hot spices and cooked food filled his nostrils as the rhythmic beat of the drums filled his ears.

He turned to Zaire and rubbed his nose against hers trying to stir the sleeping beauty from her sleep. Getting no response, he untangled his legs from hers and placed both his knees on either side of her, placing his hands beside her head.

Yami smirked and bent down kissing Zaire on the lips. Receiving a slight reaction, he continued to attack her with kisses upon her neck.

Zaire giggled as she tried desperately to push Yami off her.

"I'm woke. O.K. I'm woke." She laughed as Yami let up.

Yami smiled at her, "Darn. I wanted to keep going."

She smiled and looked out the window toward the sweet smell coming from the town and the uplifting melody that also filled the streets. She looked at Yami with eyes of excitement.

"Is that the fair?" she asked.

Yami nodded as he leaned his head against her neck, "But I want to stay right here with you in my arms I'm warm and quite comfortable." He wiggled his eyebrows at the `comfortable' part signaling toward their naked state.

Zaire blushed. "But, Yami," she whined, "You promised I could go to the fair." She reminded him as she cupped his ass.

Yami sighed, "I know, I know." He moved from his `comfortable' position and stood to stretch.

Zaire placed her head on her hand and watched him intently.

Yami turned and looked at her continuing to stretch, "Like what you see?"

She licked her lips and nodded before she stood and wrapped her arms around his neck.

Yami placed his arms around her waist bringing his head to rest on hers, "I have a surprise for you!" he told her.

Zaire squealed, "Really? What?"

Yami let go of her, "I'll get it while you go and ask Pegasus if you can go to the fair."

Zaire nodded, "And get my gift I have for you."

Yami cocked his head to the side, "For me?"

Zaire nodded, "I got it when you let me go to the town on my birthday."

Shaking his head, Yami smiled, "Do you ever only think of yourself?"

Zaire laughed as shook her head, "No, Pharaoh," she stated as she put on her clothes, "I find myself not to be as selfish as some." She winked at Yami who only huffed playfully.

Once her clothes were on, Zaire went over and kissed Yami, "I'll be right back." She said tapping his nose.

"I'll be right here." He said doing the same.

She smiled and jumped before she left to find Pegasus.

Zaire opened the room to her master's chamber. She looked around as she walked inside.

"Master Pegasus? Duke?"

She continued to walk and look around as she fidgeted with her necklace. She walked over to the dresser and opened the top drawer where Yami's gift lay wrapped in a small cloth. She picked it up and started unwrapping it from it confines.

"What's the matter?"

Zaire swirled around placing her hand on her heart sighing as she came face to face with Pegasus.

He smirked, "You're going to have to get control over those nerves of yours."

Zaire laughed as she nodded.

Pegasus looked at the necklace around her neck and smiled, "It looks great on you." he said pointing toward the jewel.

Zaire looked down at it and smiled, "Thank you."

Pegasus placed his hand to his head, "Oh, dear me. I'm sure you didn't come all the way here just to hear me say that. Tell me. What do you need?"

"Oh," Zaire stated as she too had forgotten her previous reason for his attention, "I was wondering if I could accompany Yami to the fair?"

Pegasus nodded, "Of course. Besides I have work to do. Have fun."

Zaire smiled and hugged Pegasus, "Thank you. You're the best."

Pegasus smirked, "Don't forget it."

Zaire laughed as she raced out the room back to Yami's chambers.

Pegasus's eyes became shadowed as he watched the slave exit the room, "It's almost time." He whispered to himself turning to the body of his son.

"And I want let you or anyone else stand in my way." He stated to the lifeless being on the floor.

$^$^$^$^$^$^$^$^$^$^^$$^^$$^$^$^$^

Yami turned as the door to his room opened. He smiled as Zaire smiled back at him guessing the answer was a `yes'. He opened his arms to her and she ran to hug him.

"So I guess it was a yes?" he asked.

Zaire nodded her head looking behind Yami at a blanket that lay suspiciously on a chair. Zaire looked at him and smiled, "What lays under that?" she asked pointing to the sheet.

Yami smiled, "Nosy aren't we." He said. He looked at her hand, "What's that in your hand, Nosy?"

Zaire brought the cloth in front of her, "I'll give you my gift first. I hope you like it."

"I'm sure I'll like anything you give me, Love." Yami stated as he unwrapped the cloth. His eyes widened as they came in contact with the rare card. He smiled.

"Did you bring my dark magician a love?" he asked teasingly.

Zaire smiled, "You could say that. Do you like it?"

"I love it. How'd you get it? This is a very rare card. They were selling it?"

Zaire nodded as she walked over to the chair.

Yami went over to his dresser and brought out his deck going through it until he came across his dark magician, "Madado, come forth."

Zaire turned at Yami's outburst in time to see the card in Yami's hand glow. The light became brighter. Zaire closed her eyes to shield them from the intense blaze. Once she opened her eyes, they widened as the dark magician stood before Yami. Zaire ran over to stand near Yami, as she was amazed that a duel monster stood right before her.

Yami turned to Zaire, "Zaire I would like you to meet, Madado the dark magician. Madado this is Zaire the love I have been waiting for."

The dark magician bowed to the girl.

Zaire stood amazed.

Yami turned to Madado, "She has bought you a gift."

Madado stood and looked to his master, "What might that be, Master Yami?"

Yami held the card in front of him, "The dark magician girl."

The duel monster blushed slightly.

Zaire quirked an eyebrow at the magician's antics. She looked down as Yami handed the card toward her. She grabbed it and looked at him.

"What? It is yours."

Yami shook his head, "I can not summon it because it belongs to you. You are its keeper because you are my love and the love of the dark magician, my card, is in your hand."

Zaire nodded in understanding, "But how?"

Yami smiled, "Call out her name and tell her to come forth."

"What is her name?"

"What ever you want it to be." Yami told her.

Zaire placed her finger to her chin as she thought of a name, "How about…Mana…come forth." She said holding up the card.

The card began to glow the same as the first until a girl with blue eyes and yellow hair stood before them. She wore a pink and blue armor mini dress with a matching hat and boots. In her hands she held a golden-topped cane with pink and blue embroidery.

"Cool." Zaire squealed at the appearance of her monster.

Yami smiled at her excitement.

Madado looked over at the girl magician with an even darker blush painted upon his face.

Once Zaire quit bouncing with at excitement she turned to the magician, "If you don't like your name, I'll change it."

Mana shook her head, "It's perfect. Thank you." she turned to Madado whose cheeks continued to burn.

Zaire laughed, "He's shy. How cute."

Yami rolled his eyes, "We have to get going. Leave them be and come see my gift for you."

Zaire turned to Yami and smiled as she walked back over to the chair.

"Close your eyes." He told her.

Zaire closed her eyes and waited excitedly.

"O.K open them."

When Zaire opened her eyes she smiled brightly at the gift that lay in Yami's hand.

"You like it?" he asked as he held it up to her.

Zaire nodded.

In Yami's hand was a beautiful sky-blue sleeveless silk dress that draped to the floor. The collar was trimmed with gold. The waist held a golden cloth that tied at the side and allowed the remainder of the fabric to decorate the side as it flowed loosely from the gown. Also, Yami held a pair of golden sandal with sapphires like the one on her necklace embedded into the front cover near the place of where her toes would be.

"I had it specially made for you." Yami said as he handed it to her.

Zaire, for the first time, was speechless. The quality of the dress was well past her standards and ranking.

"Do you wish to wear it?" Yami asked her a bit nerved by her silence.

Zaire looked at him and smiled, "I would be honored." She whispered before she hugged him.

"I'm going to go bath and put it on." Yami smiled at her excitement renewed.

He sighed as she raced to the bathroom and looked over toward Madado and Mana. Mana had Madado in a passionate embraced as Madado continued to fight back his blush.

Yami laughed and walked over to his wardrobe to dress as he had already bathed.

Satire and Zaire looked around the town excitedly racing from booth to booth to participate in the many activities that awaited them.

Yami and Seto sighed as they were finally able to rest as the girls decided to stop and eat.

They had done everything in the town at least three times and there was no telling how many times they had stopped to dance and create music, which the girls were very good at doing.

"I'm pooped." Seto stated, "I have never been so warn out from going to a fair in all my existence."

Satire smiled, "That's because you've never gone with us. Now hurry up and eat so we can go dance again."

Yami groaned, "Right after we eat?" he asked.

The girls rolled their eyes, "What babies." They stated in unison.

As the day began to turn night the girls started to lose their energy and became silent.

Yami and Seto turned to each other and made faces of worriment.

"What's wrong?" Seto asked them.

Satire sighed, "We were just thinking about the up coming event. You know… the sacrifice."

"Oh." Seto stated in realization.

"You know you don't have to go." Yami told them.

Zaire nodded, "But I kind of want to see what it's all about and stuff."

The guys nodded, "Well you can sit with us, K?" Yami told them.

Zaire and Satire smiled, "O.K." they stated.

The entire town gathered in the pyramids, at least it seemed like the entire town. The room smelled of death. The torches caused an almost unbearable heat not to mention the crowdedness and loudness of the place just caused more frustration and aggravation to spread through the room.

Zaire leaned over the rail that held the platform where all those of high ranking sat. She sat on Yami's lap as Satire sat on Seto's. She looked down and saw a table resting in the mist of the people on a high dais. The dais was covered in dried blood from that of previous sacrifices.

Zaire shuddered as she leaned back against Yami who wrapped his arms around her waist, "It'll be over soon." He assured her.

She nodded.

The room grew silent as a man adorned with jewels and dressed in priest attire entered the room and took his place on the dais. He signaled to two other men who brought in a small girl with nothing more than a sheet around her.

"Amaka." Satire and Zaire both whispered as they watched their young friend be pushed onto the dais and the sheet ripped from her body.

Amaka shivered with fear. She had accepted her fate but no one is ever ready to accept his or her death.

Under her breath Zaire prayed a silent prayer for the girl. She hadn't forgotten her last request. Yami had already placed the stone in the garden and the hole was already dug and awaited the body.

The girl screamed slightly as a whip was brought down upon her back. She stood hurriedly and walked to the table.

The priest began to say a prayer as the child lay upon the table. The men grabbed her arms and placed them upon the two edges above her head before they tied them to the table and did the same to her feet.

"Oh, Mighty Ra, we pray to you. We pray that this sacrifice will be worthy unto you. That you may accept this purity and purify our land."

The man took a knife and cut Amaka's right wrist, "As the purity of this blood falls we pray that Bes will be merciful and protect us from misfortunes and evil spirits once again."

He walked to her other wrist before doing the same, "And for this spill we ask Osiris bring our land to life that crops will be brought forth a thousand fold."

Amaka's breathing began to quicken as pain raced up and down both her arms. She went in and out of unconsciousness praying that it would be over soon. She didn't want to be awake for the finale.

The priest cut both soles of her feet, "And to Nut, goddess of the sky and heavens, we pray that you will accept this child into your home so that she may become one with the land and spread her clarity as a breeze through Egypt.

People hear this prayer and accept it into your hearts. The gods have been good to us. Let us give this sacrifice to them with thanksgiving."

Amaka looked into the eyes of the priest as he held the blade above her heart.

Zaire closed her eyes as she did not want to watch the end, "Please, Hathor goddess of love of women have mercy upon this child. Give her freedom from her pain before pain shall consume her." She prayed as she waited for that sickening sound of metal and flesh.

Amaka breathed in as she saw the blade come toward her, but she did not feel the sting enter her soul as death took her before the knife was inserted into her heart.

The man held up his hands with the bloody weapon still in it, "Take this child great Ra and hear our prayers. May you be pleased and satisfied for many years to come."

He looked to the people, "May we all shout together: Amen. Praise to the hidden one."

"Amen. Praise to the hidden one." Sounded through out the room as the people chanted the saying.

Satire placed a flower upon the grave as did Zaire right after.

She sighed as she turned to exit the garden. She looked to Yami with sadden eyes.

He gathered her into his arms, "You will not have to see that again. The red moon only comes once every kings term."

Zaire nodded and walked with Yami out of the garden with Seto and Satire in follow.

Zaire looked up to the moon seeing the sliver began to be covered with red like blood spilled upon a white carpet. She shuddered.

"That means the gods have accepted the offering." Yami told her.

Zaire smiled slightly, "I'm glad. Now she can be happy. I'm sure I'll see her again." She turned to Yami and smiled.

They said their thanks to Thoth, god of the moon. Before they entered their rooms for the night."
