Angelbaby: Oh my gosh. I have 25 reviews. *squeals loudly * Thank you reviewers. I couldn't have done it without you.

WFW- Your reviews always bring a smile to my face. Thank you.

Anglc_azn- Thank you for your review and the correct names. I corrected that and am very thankful that you took time out to read my story. Hope you continue to.

Jhoney- Thanks for the review. I got your email and glad to know you will get your first chapter corrected. I love your story and hope you continue. I'll be looking for your new story as well. Oh and for the record, `Even at the cost of this Life' was truly magnificent. I loved it.

Setofanatic- love the name. I love Seto too. I know what you mean about people not updating. I read this Yugi/Bakura story that was the best and Bakura had just realized his feelings for Yugi because before he was just in it for the sex. So he was going to tell Yugi, but Yami secretly liked Yugi but he was going out with Seto. Sounds good doesn't it. Well guess what. The author didn't update the next chapter. I was so mad. I'm always thinking about how that story would've end. Don't worry fateful reviewers. I won't do that to you guys.

All right, on with the story.

I don't own YuGiOh.

~~(I'm getting lazy)

Lavie raced to the door when she heard it opening. Bakura and Malik had been gone for hours. She had begun to worry that they were captured.

"Where were you?" she asked as she met them at the door.

Isis who had been waiting with her walked over to Malik in brought him into a kiss, "We were afraid you'd been caught." She explained when they parted.

Malik and Bakura chuckled.

"Us? Caught?" Malik said as he placed his things down on the table, "Never, Baby."

Lavie placed her hands on her hips giving them a scolding look, "Then where were you. You weren't out in the pyramid, that's for sure. We already have a lot of gold and if you were there you came back empty handed. I know you wouldn't have been out there all that time for nothing. So…why were you gone so long?"

Bakura walked over to Lavie, "Don't worry about it." He said simply as he kissed her and motioned to Malik to follow him.

Lavie and Isis watched as they left the room.

"I think they're up to something." Isis commented, pushing her green hair behind her ears.

Lavie nodded, "Me too."

~~

Seto pushed Satire to the wall as he continued to kiss her. His hand traveled up and down her sides as he marveled in the small noises she made.

"Seto." She moaned as he kissed down her neck.

He continued to kiss her until he felt a tap on his shoulder.

They slowly parted as Seto turned around to see who was interrupting him.

"Yes?" he asked a servant that belonged to Yami.

She bowed slightly allowing her red hair to cover her face, "Forgive me but Master Yami needs you, sir."

Seto groaned.

Satire smiled as she placed her hands on his face, "I'll still be here later and we can continue from here." She stated pushing her russet hair from her eyes.

Seto nodded, "Fine, I'm just tried of never being able to finish this."

Satire laughed her lilac eyes shining, "We just had sex yesterday."

Seto cocked his head to the side sadly, "I know but I want to be adventurous and do it in different places. However, it seems the only place I won't be bothered is in my room."

"Well, we're going to have to do something about that." Satire said as she kissed him, "Go." She ordered afterward.

Seto nodded and followed the young slave to Yami's throne as he looked back at Satire and sighed.

~~

The girl bowed as Seto entered the room before she left to complete her duties.

Seto growled as he saw Yami sitting on his chair appearing to mope. Seto rolled his eyes, "This better be good, Yami. I was in the middle of something important. What seems to be the problems now?"

Yami looked up and sighed as he got up and walked toward Seto. He stopped in front of him and crossed his arms looking very serious, "I just came from the realm."

Seto shrugged, "So?"

Yami looked at him seriously, "The monsters are in a revolt."

"Control them then." Seto stated simply.

"I can not." Yami said angrily as he sat down at the council table.

Seto looked at him surprisingly, "What do you mean you can't?"

Yami sighed, "It's almost like there is another force controlling them. My powers are useless against them. The only ones not affected are my dark magician and dark magician girl, but that's because they haven't been in the realm for a while now. They come in and out as they please. You don't suppose that those who are in the realm are being controlled."

Seto shrugged.

"Seto, this isn't supposed to happen. It's been five months since the sacrifice. Things are supposed to get better not worse. If I don't figure out away to control the shadows soon," Yami sighed, "I don't want to think about what would happen if they were to get lose."

Seto nodded in understanding. This was a dilemma. "Yami why don't you ask the gods why they are doing this. There must be a reason."

Yami nodded, "You're right. There must be. I could have done something seriously wrong without my own knowledge of it. O.k. Yeah, I'll ask the gods. Thank you, Seto."

Seto nodded.

Yami smiled, "You can go back to Satire. I will tell all guards to report anything to me and leave you to your rest."

Seto sighed thankfully as he hurried out the room.

Yami chuckled and shook his head.

He sighed as he made his way to the doors to go to the temples to pray.

He opened the door in time to see a raven-haired beauty (with gold streaks) pass by him. He smiled as he snuck up behind her and began to tickle her.

Zaire laughed as she tried to fight Yami off. She turned and frowned as she saw the uneasiness present in his eyes, "What's the matter, Love?"

Yami shook his head, "Nothing."

"Lye." Zaire scolded as she placed her hands on her hips.

Yami sighed, "I just need to seek the gods about a burden that is mine and I wish not for it to become Egypt's."

Zaire nodded, "Then don't let me keep you. The sooner you pray the sooner you can get it off your heart."

Yami smiled as he kissed her and continued to the temples.

~~

Once Yami entered the room he looked around at the many statues of his gods. He walked over to a statue of Ra where beneath him lay six millennium items in a circle a round an outline of the millennium puzzle. Yami took his puzzle from around his neck in placed it in the triangle shaped hole.

The items immediately began to glow as the eyes of Ra lit with a bright purple light.

Why do you disturb me, Yami? Echoed a voice.

Yami bowed as the voice acknowledged his presence, "I come to ask for forgiveness from the gods."

What was your sin?

"Not knowing my sin." Yami answered truthfully.

No sin has been committed from your heart.

Yami looked up, "Then why has punishment befallen me, Ra?"

Speak of it.

"The shadows are out of my power. They will destroy Egypt if I do not get command over them once again."

That punishment was of mine. Said a voice from behind.

Yami turned to the statue of Quetesh; goddess of Love and Beauty as the statue began to glow and the goddess appeared before Yami.

She wore a long white robe that flowed beneath her without touching the ground. Her blonde hair blew behind her. Her completion was a soft pale. Her eyes were a soft glow of silver as she stared down at Yami.

Yami was in awe, never had the gods shown themselves to him. They have spoken to him, but never come before him. Yami quickly bowed as a show of respect to the goddess before he asked, "Why?"

Quetesh crossed her arms, "You have put another before me, Yami."

Yami shook his head, "Never, Quetesh."

The beautiful goddess closed her eyes, "Her name is Zaire."

"Zaire?" Yami whispered.

"Her skin equals that of the sand, her eyes as gold as the pyramids of Egypt, and her beauty…that of which rivals the gods." Quetesh said the last part with anger and venom.

Yami smiled slightly a bit nervous, "Quetesh, you know you are of the most beautiful." he reassured her.

She smiled, "I know but I can't have anyone rivaling me." She stated simply.

Yami gulped, "But is it necessary to put all of Egypt in death's hands because you're jealously?" Yami asked carefully as not to sound bold.

"Yes." She answered after a thought.

Yami looked up at her, "Why?"

Quetesh laughed, "It comes with the package of being a goddess. Especially one of beauty."

"Well, I'm sorry. What can I do to fix this?" Yami said, desperately trying to get the goddess to stop her terror on his people.

The goddess looked thoughtfully for a while before she responded, "You know Yami, you're right. It's not right for me to take judgment on them."

Yami sighed with relief.

"I should take judgment on you."

"Wh…What?" Yami stuttered.

Quetesh waved her hands in front of Yami to cut him off, "Now, now don't thank me yet. I am giving you a choice. Three, actually. I think that's pretty fair." She said nodding in approval at her own generosity.

Yami sighed looking down, "What are they?" he asked carefully fearing the results.

"Well," she started, "You're first choice is I destroy all of Egypt."

Yami gasped.

Quetesh shook her head, "I'm not finish. Listen to the rest. Second choice is I kill Zaire."

Yami's eyes widened with horror.

"Or lastly, you can stop loving Zaire."

Yami shook his head, "You can't make me stop loving someone."

"You're right," Quetesh nodded, "however, I can prevent you from showing love to her. You must treat her as a regular slave."

Yami looked down sadly. All choices weren't going to work for him. He'd lose something with whichever choice he chose.

"You're best bet would be choice three, Yami. No one gets killed." Quetesh said trying to speed up the decision process.

Tears streamed from Yami's eyes, "Is there…another way?"

Quetesh thought, "Well, yes, but that will come later. These are your only choices now."

"But why. Why do you have to do this to me? Have I not been a fateful servant to you?" Yami asked raising his voice as tears came more frequently.

Quetesh crossed her arms glaring at Yami, "Do not get too bold with me Yami. With a flick of my risk I could kill her in a heartbeat. Remember that. At least I'm giving you a choice where she remains alive."

Yami continued to cry as he nodded. The third choice was his best option, but…could he really go without loving her?

"O.K. Quetesh. I choose the third. What are my conditions?" Yami asked as the tears continued to come.

Quetesh smiled, "Oh, it's quite simple. You are to treat her as a slave and nothing more. You are to not show love to her, in fact you are to show nothing but disgust and cruelty to her. If I so much as catch a kind act to her knowledge than I will kill her. It's that simple."

"So in other words, I must make her believe I hate her." Yami said in a summary looking to the floor.

Quetesh nodded, "Mostly, yes. Oh and that necklace you see around her neck. You might want to watch it carefully. It's going to warn you of my anger. If it gets to bright…well you know."

Yami sighed, "How long?"

"I'd say till her death."

Yami's head shot up, "Your to say I shall never propose my love to her ever again?"

Quetesh nodded showing her boredom.

"What do you expect to gain from this, Quetesh?" Yami asked growing angry.

"Oh don't worry. I have my part of the deal."

Yami glared, "So you're not in this alone?"

"I'm afraid you know too much Yami." The goddess said as she began to fade out. "Don't forget our deal."

"Quetesh, Quetesh!" Yami shouted to her as she disappeared from his sight.

Yami fell to his knees pounding his fist into the ground, as tears dropped onto the floor leaving their mark for a minute before they disappeared, `Just like my love.' Yami thought as he watched the come and go of his fallen tears.

He looked up at Ra, "Please, Ra, don't let her do this. Please."

But the god did not answer as he stood a simple statue.

Yami slowly got up as he grabbed his puzzle and headed for the door.

He opened it slowly and jumped when he saw his love standing before him.

"Yami, what's wrong?" Zaire asked as she swiped the tears from his eyes.

Yami was about to lean into her hand when he saw the necklace began to glow. Becoming frightened he quickly snatched her hand away, "Nothing of your concern, Slave." He said with venom.

Zaire's eyes widened, "Slave? Yami, why do you call me that?"

Yami crossed his arms glaring at her, "That is what you are, that is what you were born to be, a slave for me. To serve me and honor the ground I walk upon."

Zaire shook her head, "Yami?" she whispered.

"That's Pharaoh Yami to you, Slave."

Tears began to leak from her eyes, "Forgive me, Pharaoh Yami, I must have mistaken you for the man I love." Zaire bowed to Yami before she turned and walked away.

Yami looked after her wishing desperately that he could hold her.

Good job, Yami. You had me convinced that you hated her.

Yami growled. He had grown to despise that voice already, "Quetesh." He said through clenched teeth.

Careful, Yami. Don't forget. With one flick of my risk I could kill her in a heartbeat. Remember that.

Angelbaby: Well, there's that chapter. Hope you enjoyed the twist there. What will Yami do? Poor Zaire. Oh, I'm so cruel. But hey, who ever said love lasted? O.k., please review and I'll continue if you want me too. Luv ya. *Muah *
