Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan Fiction ❯ Absence of Color ❯ Blood Drowning Out the Pain ( Chapter 2 )
[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]
It’s amazing how ideas just pop into your head huh?. I rated this story R because there is going to be cussing, violence, and self mutilation and suicide attempts. Here’s a basic lowdown on the character’s heights. Everyone is 18 except for Seto who is 19.
Yami - 18 (Body-wise) When he gets his new body, he’s 5’9 (yes I wanted him to be tall this time. No more shortest in the group)

Honda - 5’8

About a month had passed since Yami got his own body. It was great. He found out the joys of eating, sleeping and working out. But despite all this, there was a pain that had invaded his heart. He was noticing that Yugi was ignoring him. Whenever Yami asked him a question about what he was doing, we would get an answer of, “FUCK OFF!” If Yugi went out to hang with the gang, he wouldn’t tell Yami. Yami was hurt, but he tried his best not to show it. In essence he felt that Yugi only wanted to spilt his body with him to leave him alone.
“Ring!!!!!!” Yami slammed the alarm clock. He looked at the time, 7:30. Good thing it was Saturday. After taking a shower and getting ready he went downstairs to meet up with Yugi and eat something. But the kitchen was deserted. Sogoruku left a note on the fridge.
“Yami,
Yugi left early to go with the Jounouchi and the others. I told him to invite you but he said nothing. I’m running some errands.
Sogoroku
“He didn’t say anything.” Yami repeated the sentence in his head. He had to find out what was going on. He left to go look for the gang, not even giving second thought to breakfast.
He eventually found everyone gathered in the park. They were laughing, playing…without him. Yami found the courage in himself to walk up to them. He wasn’t surprised when nobody noticed him.
“Hey guys”
“Oh hey…” Someone said it but he didn’t know who. They all went on with there conversations. Yami got mad and went up to Yugi.
‘Yugi.”
“What?”
“We need to talk”
“What about?”
“You”
“Me”
“Come on you haven’t noticed? You’re ignoring me for no particular reason, talking to me like shit. What did I do to piss you off? Tell me?”
“I don’t know just leave me alone!”
Yugi pushed him away and walked off. Yami was pissed. He was ignoring him. What did he do?
“YUGI!”
This time everyone looked up. They had never heard Yami yell at Yugi before. The wo where practically brothers. But now, the brotherhood was breaking apart.
“What the hell do you want?!”
“Why are you doing this to me?!”
“You want to know why? You won’t leave me alone! Get on with you’re life. Battle City is over! I don’t need you anymore. I got friends and a great life. I don’t need you in it!
“What did I do to make you act like this? I just want to be friends.”
“I don’t know why ok? Maybe nothing. “
“Then why the hell are you treating me like this?”
Yugi stayed silent. Yami was right. If he didn’t do anything, then why was he mad at him? Jealousy? He thought about all they had gone through. Sure Yami was the one who won the duels, but it wouldn’t have been without his body. That was it! He wanted to prove he was stronger than him.
You know what it is Yami? All those duels…sure you won them, but now without my body. Hell you wouldn’t be anywhere without me! You’re here because of me!!! Well that’s over…it’s time for me to take back my life without you. No more of you taking all the credit. This is my life now! And you can take care of yourself.”
Yami was hurt. “So…that’s the way it’s gonna be.” He thought. He didn’t need him. But the question was, why everyone supporting him. Where they tired of him? Maybe.
“Yugi…”
“Fuck off Yami…I don’t need you anymore.”
With that Yami, turned around and left. He wanted to die. His heart was broken…pride, shattered. Friends, lost. He walked past the park and arrived at the edge of the river that ran through the city. He sat down, putting his arms on his knees, staring at the water. There, amidst the sounds of birds, and all alone, he contemplated on his life. In many ways, Yugi was right. If it hadn’t been for him, Yaim wouldn’t be there. So, if Yugi wanted him to leave him alone, that’s what he would do. But…no it was wrong. He was losing his friends…just by existing. When Yami was still inside the puzzle, Yugi could keep him in there and not let him out. But now that he had his own body, he had just become a bother. He stared at the water. His face seemed to betray him. Was he really there? Of course he was. But…he didn’t want to be there. The purpose he thought he had…was gone. If he didn’t have any friends, nobody to fall back on, then why was he there? Among the morose feelings that invaded his heart, there was anger, hurt, pain. He didn’t even notice the tears flowing down his cheeks. They didn’t matter anymore.
He spent the whole day by the river. He ignored everything. The pain, the hunger, the cold. He walked home like a zombie, ignoring his surroundings, and the time. He opened the door to the shop. Everyone was there watching t.v. Naturally, they ignored him. He walked upstairs and locked himself in his room. He collapsed on the bed and stared at the ceiling. He could hear everyone downstairs laughing, and enjoying themselves. He remembered his hunger. He had skipped every course of the days meals. He was starving, but the pain he felt drowned out the hunger. Still, he decided to go to the kitchen to eat. As he walked out of his room, he heard someone mention his name.
“Hey did Yami just come in?” It was Tea,
“Yea” Yugi’s voice perked up.
“I’m going to go talk to him.”
“Why?”
“Come on Yugi you didn’t have to yell at him.”
“HEY! Let him take care of his life. I don’t need him anymore. Don’t you get it?! I’m free! I don’t’ need to rely on him anymore. For anything! I can fight my own duels, and live my own life without him!.
“Don’t you want to be his friend anymore? Aren’t you happy for him?”
“Why? He’s not my brother. A pharaoh that’s all. I gave him life, hell let him live it. Do I want to be his friend? Eh…he’ll just be invading my life. Trying to take over. I was fine before I met him, I’ll be fine again.”
Upstairs, Yami couldn’t take it anymore. He slammed the door to his room, loud enough for everyone to hear, and searched his desk. He found it; the scissors, sharp, and shiny. They were calling to him, almost…asking him to go on with his intentions. He closed his eyes. Maybe this way, the pain he felt in his heart would be drowned out with the pain that would soon invade his wrist; drowned…in the blood. He took a breath and with one quick move moved the blade over his wrist. The pain was incredible, but it helped. When he saw his own blood, he forgot about his feelings. He liked that feeling. For once he didn’t care about what the others said. It overwhelmed him, and he wanted more. He took the blade again, but this time, he dug it in deeper drawing more blood until the pain was so intense, he collapsed on the floor. Adrenaline was shooting through his body, along with anger, and pleasure with what he just done. Soon the pleasure turned into sleep. He was exhausted, but he had to wipe off the blood. No one would know. Yami proceeded to the bathroom to wash off his wrist. Upon returning to his room he picked up a cuff (remember, those he wears during battle city?) and put it on his wrist. Perfect fit. He collapsed on the bed, forgetting about hunger, or pain, just focusing on sleep to sooth it all away.
