Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan Fiction ❯ Absence of Color ❯ Struggle to Die ( Chapter 3 )
[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]
Here’s ch. 3. Let’s see how my mind concocts this one out. I think I’ll be alright considering I didn’t know that my STAR testing exam on Chemistry was today! So lame my god…I think I failed. I guessed on 80% of the whole thing. *sigh* Well, maybe this will help me relax. Enjoy,
The breeze felt cold. Comforting. Before him: the darkening horizon. Below him: the sea. Was this really what he wanted to do? “Yea…why not?” He thought to himself.
“I have nothing left, my life, my…reincarnation has been a lie. There’s nothing left...”
With that final thought, he closed his eyes and spread his arms out like a bird. He fell…heading down to the dark depths, but something happened, he never got there.
Yami woke up in a cold sweat. Sitting on the bed, he reflected on what just happened. It was only a dream.
“Shit”
He thought. He fell back on the bed, staring up at the ceiling. How he wanted to go back to sleep, to get back and finish the dream. To know what it felt like, to drown. “Why not do it in real life?” He thought. It’s not like anyone was going to miss him. They already had shown him that.
He got up and looked out his window. Outside, the birds where singing, the breeze was blowing and the sun was shining. Yami suddenly felt a sting on his arm. He looked down at his wrist. He could see that the blood had seeped through under his cuff. Again, he had to go wash it off.
“Hell, why not take a shower?”
Yami took out his black jeans, (that’s right not leather, in my stories, Yami dresses like a normal person. Not in leather) and a black sleeveless shirt. He took off his cuffs in order to wash out the wound. When the soap hit the cut, the pain that he felt yesterday came back. But this time stronger. He tried as hard as he could to keep himself from yelling out. The effort only caused him more pain, and to collapse on his knees. After he was dressed he took some gauze from the first aid and wrapped it around his wrist. Finally, he put the cuff back on. No one would ever know.
Heading downstairs he remembered he hadn’t eaten yet. He went to the fridge and found some leftover pizza.
“That’ll do”
He took a few slices and walked out the door.
Yami walked for a few minutes before remembering his purpose. He headed by the beach were the cliff was. He stood on the edge, looking out at the horizon. The cold breeze hit him, just like in his dream. He was ready. Spreading out his arms, he prepared to take the plunge. He focused.
“This is it. I can’t go back. It’s now or never. This is where it ends. No one can stop me.”
Just as he was ready to fall, someone yelled out his name
“YAMI NO!!!”
He snapped out of his trance nearly falling over, but someone wrapped their arms around him
pulling him back. He struggled to get loose but the figure wouldn’t let him go. As he was moving around he saw familiar faces. Tea, Honda, Mai and others. How could they?! If they wanted him gone, why where they stopping him?! Yami started to yell.
“LET ME GO! YOU SON OF A BITCH!!! LET ME GO!!!”
“STOP STRUGGLING!” The figure responded. Yami knew who it was. Jou.
Finally, Yami realized that he would have to stop struggling. He had to fight. He put his hand s together and jabbed back with his elbows. Jou whelped in pain. When Yami finally broke away, he charged at Jou. They both locked arms pushing at each other. Jounouchi was able to get an arm loose and punched Yami in the stomach. Yami flew backwards but was able to get his balance. Jou launched another punch, but Yami ducked. When he did, he punched Jou in the stomach. Hard. This was followed by a knee to the stomach again, and punch to the face making Jou go backwards. While he was in mid-air, Yami did a wheel-kick to Jou’s head. The body landed hard on the ground.
Yami didn’t have time to catch his breath. Someone else grabbed him from behind. It was Seto. He knew that Seto was the tallest in the group and also the strongest. Yami knew he could just give-up and walk away, but his anger was too great. This time instead of elbowing Kaiba, he did a head-butt, breaking his nose. He punched him several times in the face, and then in the stomach. Seto wasn’t as weak as Jounouchi though. He charged Yami, punching him in the face. His guard went down and he started receiving assaults of backhands and punches to his face and body. He fell to the ground.
While all this was happening, Yami wasn’t even aware of Tea, Shizuka, and the others yelling at him to stop. The voices didn’t matter. Nothing mattered. He just wanted to get this over with. And they couldn’t stop him. Not even by beating the shit out of him.
Just when he thought Kaiba couldn’t beat him up any worse, Kaiba, kicked him in the stomach. Yami let out a loud yell. Seto was about to kick him again, but Yami tripped him with his foot. Yami wanted to get up but his body wouldn’t listen. Instead Seto got on top of Yami and tried to subdue him by pinning his arms down. Suprsingly enough, Yami still had some spark left in him. They wrestled around and Seto ended up grabbing him behind the shoulders pressing Yami’s head on his stomach. Bad position; for Kaiba. Yami started to hit Seto right in the stomach and ribs. Yami felt Seto release his grip and took the opportunity to stand up. When he did he did a wheel kick to Kaiba just as he had done to Jou. Kaiba Kaiba fell down and didn’t get up. Shizuka ran over to him and begged him to get up. Everyone else was crowded around Jounouchi, who fortunately was awake. Yami could tell by the profanities that were coming out of his mouth.
He stood there, surveying what he had done. He had just fought back, but not just against anyone. He did it against his former best friends. Someone was talking to him.
“Yami why did you do this? What did we do?” Tea cried out to him
“You…y…I…” Yami couldn’t find words.
Why had he done this? He knew why, because they tried to stop him. He had become an
annoyance. Nobody cared about him no matter what they said. If they did, they would’ve disagreed with Yugi. But they didn’t. In the end, maybe even they didn’t know why they ignored Yami. One thing was certain, they certainly weren’t his friends anymore.
Yami made his way home. More like limping his way home. The pain, was now almost unbearable, but he knew that ending it wasn’t a solution anymore. Is he tried another stunt like the one at the beach, someone was always going to be there to stop him. He had to get away, away from everyone. Leave the country? Why not.
He continued to limp his way home, grabbing his sides, struggling to breath, and almost happy that Yugi wasn’t there to see what happened.
That was chapter 3. I’ll see how much I can write tonight. Later!
