Absent Emotions
Part 1
Ryou's POV
I sighed. It was another day of nothing. Just like my life. It's not like it really matters. I didn't care if I would die or not. Life is really nothing to me. There is no meaning, and even if there were, I would never pursue it. The only reason I stayed alive is because my friend, Yugi, asked me to.
I planned to kill myself that night, a month ago from this day, but Yugi found me. And to think I was so close. If only Yugi didn't ask me then I probably would've done it the next day. The sheets were thin enough in the hospital so there were other things than knives to kill you.
I was going to kill myself when Yugi doesn't need me anymore, when Yugi finds someone else that he could hang on to. I couldn't wait until Yugi found someone. Besides, I only felt like a boredom reliever. I didn't like the feeling but I only did it because then Yugi would feel guilty and think that it's his fault that I died and all that junk.
I didn't want any of it.
So I have to stay in the living realm called Hell.
"Hey Ryou!" Yugi called out to me. I turned around and waved back at him while giving a small fake smile that I so perfected years ago. Unfortunately Yugi saw through all this but couldn't really tell. "Ryou what's wrong?" he asked sincerely. Had it been someone else I would've gagged.
"Ah, nothing Yugi. I'm just thinking too much. Nothing to worry about," I responded.
"Okay, but you know that you could talk to me."
"Yes I know, I'm sorry but I have to go," I said giving a wave and walking away to my class. Finally.
I hated going to this school. I only wished I wasn't considered a 'special' human, not that it wasn't exciting, I really enjoys it, but I didn't like the attitudes of the other students attending. Apparently word got out that I did a failed suicide attempt and they started calling me names. I knew a lot more people who love to do this kind of stuff.
I walked into class 2-B. I particularly hated this class because it lasted the whole day and the teacher went with the students and started calling me names. No one would do anything about it so I learned to ignore what they say about me. I sat at the back in the corner desk. It was the only place everyone won't bother me and no one would sit by me so it's okay.
"Hey freak!" someone called out to me but I ignored it and continued to stare out the window. It wasn't my name so they probably were referring to themselves. Of course this is a daily routine. The next step is a magical ball of water was going to be hurled at me by accident. They were aiming for someone else. It was almost the start of the lesson so they had time. Only about thirty seconds but I was always ready for it. I felt it coming.
WOOSH!
The water soaked my hair and the top of my clothes. I didn't mind it. If I got hypothermia then I'd be dead, hah and live happily ever after by being a spirit and attempt to kill everyone. That sounded fun. I wouldn't mind doing that.
Soon the bell rang and the teacher came in.
"Shiozu! Next time come to class with a clean shirt!" the teacher yelled at me as usual. I didn't listen except stared at the window. It didn't faze me that much.
"Are you listening to me Shiozu?!"
"Huh? You said something?" I said sounding naïve.
"Don't act stupid to me Shiozu!"
"Did I do something wrong?"
"Shiozu!"
"I'm sorry but if you tell me what is wrong then maybe I wouldn't be clueless."
"Forget it! Okay class as of today you're getting a new teacher. He's a graduate from-"
"Yeah from that high class school and he's scouting out for potential students that could enter there."
"Shiozu out!"
"Glad to."
I got up and walked out and whistled a happy tune, which the teacher didn't really like.
"Quietly Shiozu!"
I just got out my CD player and placed the headphones over my ears and walked out quietly while having the music blast in my ears. The CD is playing one of my favorite songs and I started singing softly. I would've sung out loud, I had a great voice, from what I heard, but the teacher told me quietly.
I was so absorbed in listening that I didn't realize the person in front of him. I bumped into the person making him drop his stuff along with the others.
"Sorry," I mumbled helping the person pick up his stuff. We exchanged messes. "The classroom you're looking for is at the end of the hall." I said before walking off and I got the feeling I was being watched.

I made it to work. Since it was class 2-B the day when I had work. I specifically asked for those days since I could easily get out of it, substitute or teacher. Heh, since it was my favorite then I had no problem. I quickly went to change in my work clothes.
"Hey Ryou, how's it hanging?" I heard Malik as soon as I stepped out of the room.
"Fine, you?" I responded.
"Yeah, hey we've got busy hour get to it." He said handing me a tray and a chit.
"Why is it always busy hour?"
"Because Ryou babe, you always come in and work during busy hour."
"Thanks for stating the obvious, honey."
"You're welcome babe."
