~ Chapter Four: Together With You ~
Ryou smiled happily as he and Bakura sat down on a bench in Domino Park.
"Where do you want to go next, Ryou?" Bakura asked, his arm draped around Ryou's shoulder lazily. There was still two hours until the fireworks began, and Bakura felt that they had seen everything the Moon Festival had to offer.
The pale boy cuddled close to Bakura, yawning softly. "Well, there's this play about ancient Egypt that starts soon. It sounds really interesting."
Bakura jumped up, startling Ryou. "Well then," he cried, almost bouncing up and down, "let's go!"

"Two tickets for the play, please," Ryou ordered, as Bakura tried to sneak in. Ryou sighed, pulling Bakura back, as the ticket man handed them their tickets. "Bakura!" Ryou scolded, "you should know better!"
"Is that Bakura Jaganshi I see? The same Bakura that was the tomb robber in his fifth grade play?"
Bakura turned around, and came face-to-face with Mr Kobunji, his fifth grade drama teacher. "Hello Kobunji-sensei," he greeted politely. Ryou however, could practically hear the venom dripping off of his words.
Mr Kobunji didn't seem to notice. "Bakura, am I glad to see you! Our actor for the Pharaoh came down with a last minute stomachache; I need you to fill in for him!"
"Hold on," Ryou protested, looking at Bakura and then at Mr Kobunji. "Last minute? How is Bakura going to memorize all the lines in-" he checked his watch "-in ten minutes?"
Bakura ruffled Ryou's hair gently, pressing a soft kiss on Ryou's forehead. "I usually cram everything in my brain during the last ten minutes, besides, Mr Kobunji was my fifth grade drama teacher, and the play is probably the same."
"Even so, weren't you the tomb robber?"
"Bakura was the fill-in for Yami, in case Yami caught a cold or was unavailable. So he memorized both the part of the thief and the pharaoh. I'm sure he'll be fine." He looked up wistfully. "And I still need a person to play the tomb robber."
"Can I do it?" Marik ran up, closely followed by a weary Malik. "Please, Kobunji-sensei, please?"
Mr Kobunji chewed his lip thoughtfully. "Marik Hisui, the Pharaoh's adviser in the fifth grade play. Hmmm… Yes, I suppose that would be okay. You do know the lines for the thief, right?"
"Yes!" Marik shouted gleefully. "Yes, yes, yes!"
"All right then, back stage you two! The costumes should be somewhere there…"
"Good luck, Bakura!" Ryou called, as Malik whished Marik `good luck' too.
Ryou and Malik headed for a front row seat, Ryou sighing dejectedly, as he slid onto his chair.
"Why so gloomy?" Malik asked his friend. "Mr Optimistic unhappy?"
"Please Malik, not right now."
"Okay, that's it, something is wrong with you. What did you do with Ryou?" Malik paused. "Hey, that rhymed!"
Ryou chuckled, as Malik began saying an assortment of hilarious phrases, acting some of them out.
"And so, the merchant said: "I won't take just a cent" and I said: "but sir, you cent for me!"
Ryou clutched his sides, tears of laughter brimming over his eyes. "Ha-that's-ha-enough-ha-Malik!"
"Hey, you kids! Be quiet!"
Malik turned to look at the speaker. "You be quiet!"
Ryou tugged Malik forward. "Sorry about that," he apologized. "I think he had too much sugar today…" He glared at Malik.
The curtain for the stage pulled back, and Bakura appeared on it. Ryou smiled at him, and as Bakura spoke, he kept his eyes on Ryou, darting them around once or twice, just to make sure he kept eye contact with all the audience.
"Not bad, Ryou. Eye-contact most of the time," Malik whispered, causing Ryou's whole face to become flushed.

"And now, I die-die-die (1)."
Ryou clutched onto Malik, whimpering softly as the last of the play drew to a close. As the curtain was pulled closed, a huge sob escaped from the audience, as others cried for an encore.
"I think they did a good job," Malik commented, "especially the scene when Bakura had to kill Marik, but because they were once friends, he held back. I could practically feel his mixed emotions." Marik's eyes became all glittery. "It was wonderful."
"Malik, Ryou!" Bakura and Marik called, running up to their boyfriends. "What d'you think? Good, bad, whatever?"
Bakura grew quiet as he saw a few tears run down Ryou's face. "Ryou, koi, what's the matter?" He drew Ryou into a comforting hug.
"It was just amazing," Ryou said, smiling. "The last part, you know, the death scene? That was acted out wonderfully. Ten thumbs up!"
Marik clapped his hands together gleefully. "I finally got to play the tomb robber!"
"And you did it excellently!" Malik congratulated, "I'm so proud of you!"
Bakura and Marik smirked at each other. "Ryou and Malik, you two are starting to sound like mothers!"
Marik grinned, and tugged Malik's shirt. "We'd better get going; there's still so many things to see!"
"Bye," Bakura called at the retreating figures. "Don't forget, nine o'clock, Hikari's Hill!"
Marik waved once to show that he had heard.
Once the two were gone, Bakura turned to Ryou. "Something is wrong with you, Ryou, what is it?"
Ryou looked surprised that Bakura could read his feelings, even when he tried to cover them up. "I-it's just that… Well…" he clutched onto Bakura tightly, his words muffled. "I don't really know anything about you, not even your last name."
Bakura sighed softly, picking Ryou up. "Is that it, koi? You feel that we need to get to know each other more?"
"It'd be nice," Ryou said, leaning into Bakura's embrace. "That way I would know what you wanted for your birthday, or even when that was. And it'd make me feel closer to you…"
The older teen set Ryou down onto a patch of grass, stretching out next to him. "I've carried you to Hikari's Hill, so now we can talk for as long as you want, or talk until whenever everyone else gets here."
Ryou smiled at his lover, lying in his lap. "You begin…"

Yami and Jou ran towards the hill, both of their faces plastered with huge grins. It was 5 till 9, and everyone was already there except for them.
"Sorry we're late, guys," Yami panted, skidding to a stop.
"Yeah, but we-" Jou stopped in his tracks when he saw Bakura on top of Ryou, kissing the younger teen passionately. He turned to Yami, surprised to see a grin on the other's face.
"Say `cheese' Bakura!" Yami called, poising his camera at Bakura. The picture he had just taken was rather scary, both Bakura and Ryou had broken apart, glaring death glares at Yami. "Hehe, oops?"
Bakura smirked at Yami. "What do you think Ryou? A knife for his torso, or an arrow?"
"How about both?"
Yami fainted.
"Uhh… Yami? Wake up! It was just a joke, you know, a `haha' joke, not a `faint or worse drop dead' joke!" Bakura protested, shaking his friend.
"Surprise!" Yami called out smirking, a superior look on his face.
"Yami! You @*$&!" Bakura swore, as Ryou frowned at Bakura, and Jou and Yami rolled around in the grass, laughing hard.
"Oi, my virgin ears," Seto commented, a worn out look on his face.
"Hey Seto, where's Yugi?" Jou asked the teen. "Nothing bad happened to him, did it?"
"No, but that is the last I buy him sugar of any sor-" the blue-eyed teen was bowled over as Yugi tackled him, a slight look of insanity on his features. "PIGGY-RIDE SETO! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!!!!!!!"
"NO Yugi!" Seto cried exasperated. "And no more cotton candy, or any type of sugar, especially Pixie Sticks."
"WHEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!! PIXIE STICKS! HEY SETO, CAN I MEET MR WILLY WONKA, PLEASE? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE?"
"At this rate," Marik commented, Malik by his side, "Seto's going to sue Wonka."
Seto groaned, his head throbbing from his lover's demands and hyperness, and pulled Yugi into a tight liplock. The smaller one's lavender eyes grew wide, as Seto's kiss became more and more demanding. The brunette broke apart, satisfied that his lover had finally grown quiet. "No more," Seto whispered into Yugi's ear. "No more, okay koi?"
Yugi nodded, still shocked.
"Hey, Yugi, is this your cat?" Malik asked, holding up Hikari.
"Hikari!" Yugi cried out, thanking Malik while fussing over his pet.
"Thank Ra, he's gotten over his hyper period," Seto muttered, pulling out an Electronic Organizer. "Note to self: Never offer Yugi Pixie Sticks, EVER again."
"We found him fishing in the Domino Pond, and because of the name tag…" Marik shook his head. "Honestly Seto, you're overdoing the name tags." He pointed to Hikari's, reading it out loud so everyone should hear. "Hikari, owner, Yugi Moto, owner of Yugi Moto, Seto Kaiba."
"Yeah, well, Seto's very materialistic," Bakura commented, checking his watch. "Hey guys! The works should be starting in less than a minute!" Everyone sat down with their lovers, the ukes in the semis' laps.
"Ready?" Ryou asked, as everyone began to count down.
"10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1-Zero!"
As multi-colored fireworks lit up the night sky, Jou settled down into Yami's lap, contented fully for the first time in his life. He was with the one he loved, his friends were with their lovers, as far as Jou was concerned, nothing was better than this. Except maybe some food to go along with the fireworks. With a booming drumroll, the last of the fireworks, the grand finale alighted the sky, the results breathtaking. Blue upon green upon yellow upon orange upon red upon purple, on and on they went, fizzling and fading into nothing.
"Beautiful…"
As Jou relaxed in Yami's strong and soothing hold, he felt as if he were the happiest boy on earth, and in the whole universe.
But little did Jou know that this peace would be shattered in just a few days…
