"Yes, I agree." Yugi said faintly, his voice barely audible as he whispered, head bowed in defeat.

"Very well," Marik said with a smirk, "as you wish. I shall release Joey as promised, and in exchange you will become my servant. Of your own free will of course."

"Joey, wake up," Ryou said his voice urgent as he shook the boy next to him.

"Huh? Wha? Oh hi Ryou."

"Joey, go back to your cell, Marik is coming with Yugi. And you don't want him to see you out of your cell."

"OK, I'm going, I'm going."

"Get up," Marik snarled, kicking Joey.

"Owww… Hey, wha was dat for?"

"Just get up right now." Grumbling Joey did as he was told. Marik grabbed him by the arm, and half-dragged him from the cabin.

"Here's money, now leave!!" Marik said bluntly. They were docked at a port city.

"Wha?"

"Are you deaf or just plain dumb?"

"HEY!!"

"I said that I'm letting you go."

"Why?"

"Must I explain myself?" Then seeing Joey's confusion, he sighed heavily, "I have no use for you, and you are merely taking up space, so I am letting you go."

"What about Ryou and Yugi?"

"Oh, they're staying here. I still need them, just not you."

"But I can't leave!"

"Too bad," Marik said with a snarl, as he pushed Joey off the boat. The blonde watched helplessly as the boat slowly sailed away.
