Chapter 4
“That was too easy.” Takara thought as she made her way back to the inn. She had just taken care of some important business and was now on her way back to the inn. It was almost dawn when she reached the room. She was relieved to see that everyone was asleep.
“Come on everybody get up!”
Talibah was the first to wake up and looked quite unhappy that her sleep had been interrupted.
“Why are you waking us up now?”
“It doesn't matter we've got to the hell out of here now!”
Takara rushed out of the room before Talibah could interrogate her any farther. By the time she returned, everyone was up and packed and they soon left the city.
Not so soon after, they had left; the city was attacked by thieves. They were disappointed to find that they had once again missed capturing Takara. The leader of the band of thieves commanded that they searched everywhere in the city. He himself came into the inn where the girls had previously stayed for the night. The owner recognized him instantly and showed him the room the girls had rented out not knowing that they had already left. The door was opened only to the thief's disappointment to find out that no one was there. He turned to the now frightened innkeeper who started to stutter his excuses to the angry man before him.
“ I-I -I d-don't understand! S-she w-was here last night a-and she w-went to the young noble house w-who l-lives in the middle o-of the c-city b-but…”
The thief swiftly thrust his sword into the innkeeper's body, leaving the man paralyzed for a few moments.
“It doesn't matter, you fool. You let her escape. I have no use for you anymore.”
Having said that, the thief hastily pulled his sword out of the man's body, leaving him to fall down and lie in the growing pool of blood.
“Please…have…mercy…please…Bakura 230;don't …let …me…die.”
All the dying man could hear were the sound of footsteps leaving the inn and he was all alone. His master had left him to die.
Bakura searched all over only to discover that the house that fool told him about had already been looted as well as the inn. He smirked knowing fully well that he was one step closer to finding her.
Meanwhile three days had passed since the girls had been traveling and they finally spotted a town. Talibah's friend had decided to go back home earlier so they were by themselves. When they had settled, the girls decided to look around the place. After some time, they saw this girl running towards them. Takara drew out a sword just in case she turned out to be unwanted company. The girl didn't stop running until she had reached Talibah and fell on her knees before her.
“I'm so glad I found you! You are wanted back at the palace. It is most important that you come back with me!”
Talibah sighed and thought about the fact that no matter where she went, the palace will always track her down. She didn't feel like going back but she had no choice. Suddenly an idea came to her head and she faced the messenger.
“I will return soon but give me some time to be prepared. You can leave now.”
The messenger was puzzled by her words but she still obeyed the order and left.
“You aren't going, are you Talibah?”
Talibah turned to face the silver haired woman who was giving her a look of annoyance.
“Of course I'm going …and you're all coming with me!”
“What the hell is wrong with you? I'm the last person that any of those royal bastards would want to see in their palace. Besides, one look at me and they'll figure out who I am.”
Monifa looked at Takara quite sadly. She knew that there was a possibility that if Takara was recognized by anyone at the palace, she could die. She didn't want that to happen but she also felt that Tali-chan wouldn't let anything happen to any of them. Now, the wise thing to do was to stay out of the conversation since Talibah and Takara looked as if they were going to slit each others throat.
“Don't worry Takara, leave everything to me!”
Talibah took her cloak off on placed it on the ground. After muttering a spell, she took it and placed it over them.
Soon they were standing in the middle of Talibah's room and she ran to her closet while her companions stood with dazed looks on their faces.
“It took me three years to learn that spell. No one thought I could actually get that right. I don't think anyone in this place thought I could even learn anything here. My former teacher labeled me a lost cause. Oh well…I hated that old bastard anyway.”
Talibah quickly pushed her memories away from her mind and concentrated on finding something for her friends.
“Here we are! Now put these on!”
The two girls turned to see Talibah standing there with servant clothing and a pair of wigs.
“No way in hell am I going to put those damn things on!” shouted an angry Takara.
“Look, you have to so that no one will recognize you. It's the perfect cover! Don't worry; I'll bail you out if trouble comes about.”
“Just because you wear a wig all the time for some twisted reason doesn't mean that I have too.”
“Takara, not long ago, you were saying how easily you could be spotted because of you hair, the wig covers your hair so it's good for concealing your identity. I have good reason for wearing this wig okay so stop talking about it.”
The girls ended up wearing the clothes and the wigs and they watched in disgust as Talibah put on her make up. not being able to control herself, Monifa took a cloth dipped it in water and started to wipe Talibah's face.
“Please stop putting that on. It doesn't look good on you.” Monifa wiped the make up off and stepped back happy that she would see that horror again.
Takara decided to do something nice Talibah …this time. She put the make up on the girl herself. She didn't put as much ad Talibah had before and she looked better.
“Now, you look a little pretty. We have to get up make up that matches your complexion. Didn't your mother teach you all these basics?”
Talibah didn't say anything except a quiet thank you and that it was time to leave. Her two companions brushed away what little suspicions they had on Talibah's odd behavior and followed her out of the room. This was going to be quite an interesting stay.
That's it for now! I am not going to rush this story! It will take time to right because I am still developing the characters. There are a lot of unanswered questions already formig so far in the story. they will all be answered in due time. Yes, Takara's past is connected to Bakura but you will just have to keep reading to find out how. Talibah can teleport because she like to leave the palace a lot mainly to escape from her now former teacher. As for the pairings, that will come soon. I am so happy that I have two reviews and a few visits on this story. Thanks so much! I have to think of other chapter's for this story and others. Until next time…
Later Days!
