****Angel of the Rain***
She liked rain. It was cold. It could ruin things. It made lots of people unhappy. Oh, well. That was other people's problem not hers. Ayena Hakrin roared down the freeway on this soggy night on her tricked out Harley-Davidson 1999 Heritage Softail Deuce. She practically lived on her bike, but she did have a house she went to every night to sleep. She let her mind wander and she stared aimlessly out to the road in front of her. Her pitch black hair could be barely seen, as it was tucked inside her jacket to keep it from getting wet. You could tell it was long, a probable guess being around her waist. She had forest green eyes and a piercing stare, her parents had joked it would scare any attacker away. She was staring at the road in front of her when she saw a light off to the right side of the road.
that light moving toward me?' Ayena slowed down. 'No, It's parked, I'm coming toward it.' She gently slowed down as she saw a beautifully decked out H-D Road King Classic that was strategically moved to the shoulder bring attention to itself in the case of an oncoming car. The rider had their back turned to her as she dismounted and noticed the horrible bent-in the front had suffered.
'Probably trapped the tire so it won't budge...' Ayena approached the rider.
need some help here?" she asked over the pounding of the rain.
you stopped?" Ayena could tell the rider was male by his deep voice.
why wouldn't I? Bikers help each-other out, don't they?" She tried her best to be polite and offered her hand, meeting the gaze of the lavender-eyed motorcyclist's.'m Ayena Hakrin, let me help you." He stared at her hand for a while then graciously shook it.
Malik, Malik Ishtar."
let's get out of the rain. Where do you live?" Ayena asked
"On the far side of town, and a little way past that. My sister likes privacy, and I live with her." Malik said as he popped his visor on his helmet so he could talk clearer. Ayena did likewise.
"I'll call a tow at my house, it's not far, you can stay with me if you want. Get you warmed up, I'll bet you're freezing!" Ayena rubbed Malik's shoulder to emphasize her point. "Besides, then you'll have more time to tell me what happened."
Malik countered though," What about my bike, what if some sleaze jacks it?"
"They won't, trust me. Look around... there isn't a car in sight and it looks like if there were they'd be hightailing it home to get out this mess." Ayena looked up at the sky to point out the rain wasn't letting up.
"True, but I just don't want to leave it, Ayena." This caused Malik to earn an `I-can't-believe-you're-so-immature' look by Ayena.
"Listen..." She took firm hold of Malik's shoulders "I understand as a fellow biker that you don't want to leave an investment like this out in the rain, but you have to if you want it fixed." Her eyes pierced into his. "Let's go... and call me Ay OK"
"Ay, I can't thank you enough for helping me."
"You can thank me later. Get on." She mounted her bike. Malik got on and took hold of her shoulders. "You are cold. C'mere" she took his arm and wrapped it around her waist. Malik caught on and snuggled into her back. "Better?" Ay asked.
"Hmm. Warm." Ay took off and got past downtown traffic. She was about to fall asleep when Malik tapped her shoulder.
"What?"
"You're about to fall asleep. Let's wake you up."
"Wha-" Ay was cut off as Malik reached up to take hold of the handlebars and asked, "Do you trust me?"
"What? Well, yes, whyyyyyyyyyaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh!" Ayena screamed as Malik took the bike into a wheelie. Ay closed her eyes and tried to stop screaming. Malik put the bike down gently and knocked on Ay's helmet. "Sorry, you were about to fall asleep, that was the only thing I could think of to get you awake again." Ay was laughing as she took control of the bike again.
"HaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHa!"
" I fail to see what's funny..."Ayena just sniffed and slowed her bike as she pulled into a driveway.
"Hahahaha! It's just that, hahahaha, my freaky rich neighbors are all about beautysleep, hahahahahaha, and here we come, the bike roaring and me screaming, surely they've woken up, hahahahahaha!"
Malik failed to see the humor in that, but gave a weak laugh anyway.
"And now, hahahahaha, they're going to be annoyed to death by my laughter, hahahahahahaha!" Ay dismounted the bike and opened her garage. "I have to get a picture of their faces!" She said and took a professional-quality camera from the wall and ran across the street into the torrent of rain. "Malik, please walk my rig into the garage? Thanks!" Malik stood and did as he was asked then went to find Ay across the street going up the grand front porch of...
"Kaiba Corp!" 'Aw, man I gotta see this!' Malik said to himself as he dashed across the street.
