Dreams

******Aria's Dream*****
Aria stood on the balcony overlooking the arena. In the distance she watched the sun setting behind the pyramids. The sky filled with red, orange, and purple colors.
Her hand moved to her pregnant belly where her child shifted in her womb.
The girl bit her lip nervously as she thought of her child and the danger ahead.
She turned her head and saw Aten standing beside her. His purple eyes looked sadly over Cairo.
“This cannot be allowed to continue,” the teenager said as he gripped the Scepter of Ra in his hand. “We have to do something, Aria.”
Aria nodded. “What can we do? We don't have Shadow Magic to the extent that he has.”
Aten sighed. “We have to try. It's scary. I'm afraid, too. But, do you want your baby born into a world where Yami's throne rests on a bed of human skulls and bones? If Yami gains control of all of these Millennium Items, the world is doomed. He will slaughter more innocents.” Aten closed his eyes and clenched his fists. “Ravana…..Hamadi…..Aria, I can't bear to see their deaths as meaningless. They were my friends. They did not deserve to die in pain and terror the way that they did. They deserved better.”
Aria clenched the Millennium Trident in her hand. “These are the only things that stand between the survival of this world and Apocalypse. The End of the World…..Aten, I want to see my baby born. I want my son to live happily in a safe world…free of Yami's tyranny.”
Aten turned to her and held her hands. “Aria, I don't know what's going to happen to us. We can't allow things to continue like this. The only thing standing between the destruction of this world and salvation is our own Millennium Items.”
Aria looked up at Aten with a nod. “You're right, Aten. We have to stop Yami before Life turns to Death.”
“You are with child, Aria. I beg you. Flee Cairo. Flee Egypt with the High Priest. At least you will be safe and Yami won't get his hands on both of us at the same time. As long as we keep one of our Items out of Yami's reach, he cannot achieve world domination.”
“Aten, I can't leave you behind.”
Aten took her shoulders gently. “Please leave. I do not want you or the child harmed.”
“Well what about your safety?”
“There's nothing more that Yami can do to me that he hasn't done before. I've suffered greatly under his fist. I've watched those I care about suffer. I've seen Egypt suffer under him. I cannot allow suffering to continue.”
Aria shifted on her feet. “You leave, Aten. I can face Yami by myself.”
“That's suicide! I can't allow you to do that. Aria, you need me.”
The girl grinned. “Aten, you leave. I can handle Yami by myself.”
Aten shook his head. “Aria, you are my friend. You will always be my friend. If we do this….we do this together.”
Aria smiled and wrapped her arms around Aten tightly. The boy felt the child in Aria's womb kicking.
Aria pulled back and leaned her Millennium Trident against her shoulder. “Let's teach the pharaoh a lesson, Aten.”
Aten grinned and clutched the Scepter of Ra in his hand. “It's time for revenge!”
****End Dream****
Aria opened her eyes quickly and sat up in bed. She looked beside her and saw Umi sleeping peacefully.
`What a weird dream,' she thought.
Aria slipped out of bed and wrapped her bathrobe around herself. She crept through the hallway to Kai's room. She opened the door to Aten's old room and found her son sleeping quietly, cuddling his octopus plushie. The baby sucked his thumb as he slept with his stuffed animal.
Aria slowly crept into the room and smiled down at her son. She touched his little hands and smiled.
`My little angel,' she thought as she touched his hand.
The mother leaned down and kissed Kai on the cheek.
“Daddy, I wanna tatsh da nest fish….”
Aria giggled at her son. “Cute stuff.”
The girl turned to leave the room when she saw Yami standing at the door to Kai's room. Yami appeared in front of her wearing his old robes from Ancient Egypt.
She narrowed her eyes and blocked Yami's path to Kai. “What do you want?” she growled. “Stay away from my son!”
Aria's hair spiked and she growled angrily as she protected her child.
Yami turned and disappeared into the hallway.
Aria ran to the doorway and found nobody in the hallway. She ran down the steps and into the basement.
Yami was no where to be found.
Aria returned to Kai's room when she felt assured that Yami was not in the house.
Aria sighed and sat by Kai's bed. “I'm not leaving Kai unprotected. I'll stay here all night if I have to protect him.” Her eyes remained focused on the open door to her child's room. “Did I dream that Yami was standing here? Why would I see Yami dressed in his old clothes from Ancient Egypt? I must have been seeing things.”
*****************************
Aten turned restlessly in his bed. He opened his eyes and found Robbie sound asleep beside him. Robbie's shoulder twitched in his sleep.
The Egyptian groaned. “I'm not going to get any sleep tonight. I just can't relax.” The Egyptian rolled out of bed and wrapped his robe around himself.
“I may as well do some painting and make myself somewhat useful. Maybe I can relax that way.”
Aten staggered down the steps with a tired yawn. He heard the jingling of metal coming from the kitchen. He saw spiky hair in the darkness.
“Father Bakura, did you break into here again? Father's not going to be very pleased.”
The figure in the darkness remained still as the jingling of the metal continued.
“Father Bakura? Daddy?”
Aten slowly approached the kitchen, his heart rate steadily increasing as he approached the mysterious figure in the dark. “Hello?”
The figure stepped out of the shadows and Yami stood before him in his ancient clothing.
Aten froze, his face full of fear. “Y----Yami!”
The pharaoh narrowed his eyes at him and growled.
Aten backed away slowly as Yami approached him. “Please….no…”
The teen trembled and crumbled to his knees. He covered the back of his head and bowed.
“Please don't hurt me, pharaoh! I'll be good!”
The jingling of the metal stopped.
Aten lifted his head and found Yami gone. Still shaking, he struggled to his feet and flipped on every light in the downstairs.
“Yami?” Aten searched frantically for signs of Yami.
He opened up the door to the basement and swallowed hard. “I….I should go downstairs and look for the pharaoh. What…what if he's waiting down there? He knows I won't go into the basement.”
Aten stepped a foot on the top step of the basement and swallowed hard. “One step…..”
Aten placed both feet on the first step to the basement. Sweat formed on his forehead as he looked down the wooden steps.
His heart seized and he jumped back and slammed the basement door shut. “I can't go down there! I just can't!”
Aten rushed into his studio and shut the door. “I have to relax…I have to relax….Yami isn't here.”
Aten turned on the light and walked over to his canvas. He picked up his black paint and a black canvas. “Basement…..scary basement.”
Aten drenched his brush in black paint and smeared the canvas with the brush. “Basement…..Grandfather…Bottles….Mother…We played.”
He let his arm swing wildly around the canvas. He put down the black paint and grabbed the red. He watched as red eyes appeared at the top of the painted staircase. Blood red claws reached down the stairs. A tiny crouching figure cowered at the bottom of the steps.
The teen looked at the creepy detailed painting ahead of him.
The Egyptian backed away and felt a wave of dizziness overcome him.
`I can still remember the smell of the mold in the basement…the dampness….the cold.'
Aten wrapped his arms around himself and felt his head spin. “Basement…..”
Aten fell forward on the floor, his mind overloaded with flashes of memory.

******Aten's Dream*****
He struggled against the guards who dragged him by his arms towards the throne room. He tugged and squirmed in the guards' grasp, screaming for help.
Anubis grabbed the teen's hair a pulled back. Anubis looked into the eyes of the terrified teen. “Pharaoh Yami wants to see you.”
Aten let out a scream of terror and heard Aria shouting behind him.
“Don't kill Aten! Please!”
The teen struggled and saw the doors open to the Throne Room.
“Here he is, my lord,” Anubis growled. “Throw him to the floor!”
The guards threw Aten to the floor.
“So, you little whelp….once again you stand in my presence.”
Aten cringed. “What…what do you want?”
Yami growled down at the teen. “I heard that a revolution is being planned, Aten. You wouldn't happen to know anything about it, would you?”
Aten swallowed hard and shook his head. “No, my pharaoh.”
The pharaoh approached Aten and pulled his head back. “You better not be lying to me, boy. Or I will be quite…..angry with you.” Yami traced Aten's jaw with his thumb. “Good boy.”
Yami pulled Aten into a deep, hungry kiss. The teen breathed through his nose as he felt Yami's tongue plunge between his lips.
Aten's hands pushed against the pharaoh and Yami moaned in pleasure.
Yami pulled back laughing. “It's so much better when they are feisty, wouldn't you say, Anubis?”
Anubis grinned. “He is a feisty one, for certain.”
Yami narrowed his eyes at Aten. “If I find out that you are part of this revolution that I hear so much about, I will kill you myself.”
The teen swallowed hard as Yami leaned into his ear. “But not before having a little fun with you before you die.”
The pharaoh growled. “I will not tolerate insolence! You need to be reminded of your place…just in case you decide to join that revolution, Aten.”
“I won't, sire! I won't join it!”
Yami gripped the hair on the teen's hair tighter. “You had better not, Aten. I will make you regret the day that your miserable father placed you in your dog-of-a-mother's womb!”
The teen fought back the tears. “I promise not to join it, my pharaoh!”
Yami released the boy's hair. “You will still join me in my chambers tonight. It is my command.”
Anubis scowled down at the teenager and grabbed his wrist. “Guards, take this one to the River and clean him up. Make him at least presentable to be the pharaoh's slave for the night. You cannot smell like dung and sweat if the pharaoh is going to bed with you, boy.”
Aten's face went pale. “Please, General Anubis! I don't want to be the pharaoh's sex slave tonight! Let me heal from the last time! I'm almost healed!”
“No complaining, Aten! A soldier must always obey a superior! Besides, you will have the honor of mating with the physical embodiment of Ra on Earth!”
Yami returned to his throne. “Make sure he is on my bed at sundown. A moment late and you will regret it, Aten.”
The guards grabbed Aten's wrists and pulled him out of the room.
************End Dream******
Aten felt a pair of hands on his shoulders, gently moving him. A female voice spoke quickly, her voice flooded with worry.
Thin fingers pressed against his pulse point.
“His heart's still beating, Daniel,” she said.
The teen felt a pair of hands scoop under his armpits and haul him to his feet.
“Come on, Aten. Stand up, buddy.”
Aten's head fell back limp on Daniel's shoulder.
“I wonder why he fell,” Miranda said with concern.
Daniel carried Aten to the couch in the studio.
“Aten, will you be okay?” Miranda asked. “Daniel, I hate to leave him here.”
Daniel saw Aten's eyes close again. “He's out cold. We can leave the door open in case he needs us.”
Miranda covered Aten with the blanket that he draped over the couch. “I found the basement light on. Could he have gone into the basement?”
“I thought you said he never went down there.”
“He doesn't.”
Aten whimpered in his sleep. “Pharaoh…..Yami.”
“Daniel, can you put on the coffee? I'll stay here with him.”
Aten reached out quickly and grabbed onto Miranda. “Yami….go….away.”
Miranda stroked Aten's hair. “You may have to bring in my coffee, Daniel. I may not be going anywhere for a while.”
*******************************
Seto sat back in his chair and relaxed. The next year's budget was completed. He had made a pile of papers for Robbie to copy and distribute to the department heads.
Seto yawned and tiredly pushed himself away from the desk. “Bed….”
The CEO staggered to his room and removed his clothing piece by piece. He slipped into bed beside his sleeping lover and pressed himself against Joey's back.
Joey was already asleep, curled up and sleeping quietly.
“Goodnight, puppy,” Seto moaned as he fell asleep.

***Seto's Dream****
The High Priest heard Aria's scream from down the hallway. Seth ran out of the his room and found Aria down the hallway.
In Yami's room Seth found Rayna on the bed.
Aria was clutching her mother in her arms. A tiny pregnant belly was apparent on Aria.
“Mother, don't die!” Aria pleaded.
Seth held Rayna's bloody hand and closed his eyes tightly. “Rayna….please don't die.”
Aria cried. “Mother….who did this to you?”
“High Priest.”
Aria turned and saw Yami standing at the door. Her eyes narrowed and she growled. “You killed my mother, didn't you?! You monster!”
Aria charged towards Yami screaming angrily.
Seth turned. “Aria, NO! Don't provoke him!”
The guards caught Aria in their arms before she reached the pharaoh.
“I'm going to kill you, pharaoh!” she screeched.
Yami grinned. “She was not half as fun as Aten.”
Aria kicked her legs and struggled with the guards.
Seth ran to her. “My lord, forgive her. She's upset!”
“Seth, she has obviously not been broken. She has not learned to fear me. That poses a problem.”
“How could you kill my mother, you miserable cobra?!”
Yami shrugged indifferently. “Her life meant nothing to me.”
“She was my mother!”
Yami stepped aside. “At least she meant something to someone.”
“My lord, she was my wife! She did not deserve to die like this!” Seth screamed.
Yami gripped the Millennium Rod in his hand and pointed the dagger at Seth's neck. “Don't challenge me, Seth! I will use my powers to seal your soul away just as I did to Aria and Aten's fathers.”
Seth narrowed his eyes. “Let Aria go.”
Yami shook his head. “She has attacked me. She gets executed at dawn. When the sun rises, her head will fall. Guards, take her away.”
“No, sire,” Seth gasped. “She is with child! She may bear your son!”
“The joy of watching her die outweighs my care for the child inside of her womb. She has attacked me. Since this girl cannot be broken, her death will teach others a lesson.”
Seth ran to Aria and hugged her. “Please, my lord, don't do this!”
“Take her away!”
The guards pulled Aria out of the room.
Yami grinned and turned around. “She dies at dawn.”
*****End Dream****
Seto sat up in bed with a startled gasp. His eyes went wide and he panted heavily. The CEO wiped his sweaty forehead.
“Aria! Aria!” Seto called out, waking Joey from his sleep.
“Seto? Seto, what's wrong?”
Seto turned to the blond. “Joey?”
The blond raised an eyebrow. “You were expecting someone else?”
The CEO fell back on the bed, his face pale. “What the hell just happened?”
“You look like you've seen a ghost.”
“I had a very strange dream….scary. I dreamed I….saw a dead woman…and Aria was pregnant. Yami was there….he said that he had killed the woman and was going to kill Aria.”
Joey laid back and cuddled beside Seto. “It must have been a hell of a dream to shake you up so much. Here, I'll help my dragon feel better.”
Joey kissed Seto's chest and smiled at the pleasurable sighs coming from his lover.
“My puppy is in the mood for playtime, hmm?”
Joey crawled on top of Seto and licked Seto's chest with a nod. “Does the master want some playtime with his puppy?”
“I cannot deny it.”
Joey took Seto's right nipple between his lips and sucked on it gently. A few licks with his tongue and Seto was arching his back into the warm, wet tongue.
“Joey….”
A timid knock sounded on the door. “Mr. Kaiba, sir?”
“Robbie? Come on in.”
Robbie slowly opened the door to Seto's bedroom and found Joey kissing Seto's chest. “Morning, s-sir.”
“Morning, Robert.”
“I have your mail. We got a package.”
“A package? Oh…it must be the part that I ordered for my new prototype. Open it up and make sure that it's what I ordered. Just be very careful when you open it.”
“Yes, sir.”
Robbie quickly left the room.
Joey chuckled. “Where were we? Oh yeah!”
Joey crawled on top of Seto again and growled playfully into his chest.
“Puppy…that tickles!” Seto laughed.
The blond kissed lower on Seto's body and settled between his lover's legs. The blond rested his head on Seto's soft abdomen. He closed his eyes and smiled as Seto's fingers slipped through his golden hair which laid delicately across his skin.
Joey nuzzled his cheek against Seto's abdomen and let out a contented sigh. “You feel so good, Seto.”
The CEO smiled and pet his lover's hair. “It's been a long time since I could just be with you like this.”
Joey sighed happily. “I've missed this.”
A smile crossed Seto's lips. “So have I.”
A loud scream came from down the hallway and Joey's head snapped up.
“What was that?”
“Robbie!” Seto gasped.
The CEO slipped out from under Joey and grabbed his bathrobe. He wrapped it around himself and ran out of the bedroom. He ran into his office and found Robbie standing against the wall, his eyes focused on the open box and its contents on the floor.
Seto slowly crept towards the grey matter on the floor. “What in the world---?”
Joey ran into the room and stood beside Seto. The blond swallowed hard and covered his mouth when he realized what was on the floor of Seto's office.
Seto kneeled on the floor and picked up the object covered in blood. “This is….”
“A human brain,” Robbie trembled. “Look at it, Mr. Kaiba. It….it even has pieces…of the skull…still connected to it.”
Seto pinched a patch of hair and pulled a piece of skull away from the brain. “Did this come with anything else?”
Robbie nodded and handed Seto a note. “This came with it.”
Seto read the note. “You're next, Mr. Kaiba.”
