Challenges
Mark rolled over and kissed his sleeping husband. “Love you, Malik,” the yami whispered.
He stood up and staggered to the window. He opened the curtains, letting the morning light caress his skin. He yawned and stretched naked by the window.
He put on his purple and gold bathrobe and walked into the hallway. He saw Bakura sitting at the foot of the bed with his head hung low. “Morning, Itemri.”
Bakura didn't respond.
“Itemri?”
Bakura's head hung lower.
The blond yami walked to his lover and tapped him with his arm. “Hey, Itemri, I said Good Morning.”
Bakura nodded and waved Marik off.
“What's wrong?”
Bakura blinked and opened his mouth to speak, but nothing came out. `What do I say about last night?'
“…………”
“Itemri? Is something wrong? Are you sick? Are you upset?”
`How do I tell him about what Ryou tried to do….what he said to me? Was it true?'
Marik sat by Bakura. “Bakura, say something! Anything!”
“Morning.”
“Did you and Ryou have a fight last night?”
Bakura turned his head to Marik and narrowed his eyes. “Everything is fine between Ryou and I! There's nothing wrong!”
“Umm…you're not acting as if nothing's wrong. Something happened. I can see it in your eyes. You're worried. Upset. Hurt. Angry.”
`Damn.'
“Itemri, I know you too well. You can't hide anything from me. So, you may as well tell me what happened.”
Bakura stood up sharply. “I don't want to talk.”
The yami stood up and left, walking down the steps angrily.
“What crawled up his ass and died?” Marik groaned. “I'm not even out of bed five minutes and we have another day of drama.”
The yami walked into the bathroom and washed his face. Walking downstairs he saw Ryou sitting in the kitchen with a hot cup of tea. Bakura was no where in sight.
“Ryou, where is Bakura?”
“I don't know. And I don't care.”
Marik sat at the table and groaned. “What is the matter with you?”
“Maybe Bakura is upset that now his daughter finally has seen what a fucking asshole he is.”
“WAS….Ryou….was. He hasn't hit you in Ra only knows how long!”
Ryou crossed his arms. “You're no saint either.”
“No, but I am repaying my debt as best as I can! You have a roof over your head! Food in your belly! Medication to keep you the fuck alive! What more else do you want of me?”
“What do I want? I want to be left alone! I want you both out!”
Marik growled. “What?!”
“I want you out of MY house!” Ryou growled.
“YOUR house? Guess what, sweet cakes, I pay the bills! ME! MYSELF! I! I am the bread-winner in this family! I am the only one in this house who can tell someone to leave!”
Ryou stood up and planted his hands on the table. “There we go again! Ruling over us like a king!”
“Get this straight, Ryou! I AM Nobility! I pay the bills and I work for my daily bread!”
“What do you want? A medal? A plaque? You're doing what you're supposed to do!”
Marik stood up and matched Ryou's confrontational stance. “And what is that, exactly, Ryou Thomas Bakura-Itemri?”
“You're supposed to take care of me! I am the mother of your son! I risked my god damned life for you!”
“What do you want? A me---?”
Marik's head whipped to the side as Ryou slapped him across the face. Marik was stunned. Ryou….sweet, loving Ryou…hit him back?
Marik whipped around and slapped Ryou across the face in retaliation. “Ryou, you don't hit me without getting something in return.”
“FATHER MARIK!” a shriek called from behind him.
Ryou fell to the floor crying. “Marik, please stop hitting me! I'm sorry!”
Aria ran to her mother and held him in his arms. “What the fuck do you think you are doing, Marik?!”
“Ryou hit me and---.”
“A likely story! Mother, are you okay?” Aria asked as she kissed Ryou's forehead.
Ryou sobbed. “Marik wouldn't stop hitting me!
“Aria, he's lying!”
“I don't believe you! I know you'd hit mommy again!” Aria stood up and faced Marik with fury in her eyes. “I'm packing today! I'm taking Umi and Kai and moving! TODAY! I'm not subjecting my son to your temper! I can't handle this pregnancy and trying to protect my mother from you! WE'RE LEAVING! UMI! And if my mother needs a place to run to when you beat the shit out of him, then he is safe with me because I swear to Ra, Marik Ishtar, if you come looking for my mother with the intention of raping him again, I will cut off your nuts and feed them to Sekhmet! Do you understand me? And your penis will be his personal chew toy!” Aria turned back to Ryou. “Come into the living room, mother.”
Ryou struggled up and leaned on Aria. “He was brutal, Aria,” Ryou sobbed as they left.
Marik stood in the kitchen, shifting his eyes uncomfortably at Aria's threat. “Sweet Isis….are all Itemris going through PMS or something?
**************
Aten sat nervously. He wrung his hands nervously and tapped his foot on the ground repeatedly. His brown and purple eyes scanned the room slowly. The old women were reading the magazines while the old men watched the television.
Robbie sat beside Aten with his hand on Aten's thigh. Aten squeaked as he felt Robbie squeeze it gently. “Aten, it's okay. I'm right here.”
The teen nodded quietly and watched the little children playing in the corner. The little ones made towers of blocks and laughing as they watched the towers crumble to the floor in a heap.
Aten watched a mother rock a baby in her arms. He heaved a heavy sigh as he looked down at the floor. `Ra, let me just get this over with.'
Aten looked up and saw Kadin enter.
The other teen walked up to him. “Aten, I found you!”
“Can I…help you?” Robbie asked.
Kadin sat beside Aten. “We were just talking about a fight he had the other day with this guy he was with. Did everything work out?”
Aten nodded. “Y-Yes.”
“Oh, that's good,” the teen said leaning back in his chair. “I just came to talk to the doc about something. You sick, buddy?”
Robbie turned to Aten. “Do you know this person?”
“Umm…yes. We just talked in the park after we had that fight.”
“Ohhhh…he's the guy you had that little tiff with!”
“We're all better now….Umm..what's your name?”
“Kadin…Kadin Raphara.”
Aten shook his head. “I'm not sick. I have to see the doctor.”
“It's good that you brought him after that fight. I fought with someone I love, too. I just came to talk to Zira about something very important.”
Aten nodded. “Zira is good. Listen….umm…my art show is tomorrow. Do you want to come? It's being held at the Domino Museum.”
Kadin smiled. “I'd love to! What time?”
“One in the afternoon.”
“I'll be there!”
Robbie looked at Kadin from the side. Why was this Kadin so excited to go to Aten's art show?
“Ishtar….Aten?”
Aten froze as the nurse called his name. Robbie stood up and ran his fingers through the top of Aten's scalp.
“Aten, love, come on. It's time to--.”
Kadin put his hand on Aten's back. “Time to get up, man.”
“I can't move,” Aten whimpered.
Robbie kneeled in front of his husband. “Aten, do you know where you are?”
“Doctor Zira's.”
Robbie nodded. “I am here with you. Okay?” Robbie tilted Aten's head up to face him. “Okay, angel? I'll be right with you holding your hand.”
Robbie watched Aten's eyes grow distant.
“You'll be wif me, Wobbie?”
Robbie nodded. “I won't leave your side, Aten. We'll do this together.”
Aten slowly grabbed onto Robbie's hand. “Otay….”
Aten slowly stood up and followed Robbie into the back.
“Step up on the scale, Aten.”
The teen stepped up on the scale as the nurse recorded his weight. “One hundred pounds….Five feet…four inches tall…Okay. Follow me.”
Aten followed the nurse to the room where he sat down.
“What brings you in today, Aten?”
“Umm…my heart.”
“Okay. Are you having pains? Shortness of breath?”
Aten nodded and felt his face turning red from embarrassment.
“Okay, the doctor will be in shortly.”
Aten sat on the table and swung his legs back and forth. “I don't know about this, Robbie…”
“I'm right here. I'll let you do the talking.”
Aten nodded. “Okay.”
When Zira entered, he carried Aten's chart with a smile. “If it isn't the Ishtars…How are you doing, Aten?”
“Umm….I had a bad episode yesterday. My angina was really bad.”
“Okay. We'll up your medication and see if that doesn't help. Have you been exercising?”
Aten nodded. “Yes. Umm…Doctor Zira? I really didn't come here about my heart. I've been having….oh gods…this is so embarrassing!”
Zira sat on the nearby chair and crossed his legs. “What's up?”
“Nothing, that's the point of all this! Dr. Zira, when Robbie and I make love, I can't get aroused! I can't get….hard. And when I do get hard, I lose it very quickly. On very few occasions, I find myself…climaxing too quickly. As if my body just wants to get it over and done with. When Robbie finally…..oh gods…”
Zira watched the teen's face turn beet red. “Aten, I'm your physician. I want to be able to help you.”
“But you birthed me! You delivered me for Ra's sake! Now I'm sitting here telling you that I can't get stimulated while I'm having sex with my husband! Doesn't that sound…odd to you?”
“No. It doesn't. You are my patient.”
Aten sighed. “It's very hard to talk about this.”
“I know, Aten. So, you have painful sexual intercourse and you have a difficult time becoming physically aroused?”
Aten nodded. “Yes. I could just be getting ready to climax and all of a sudden, my desire just dies. I can't climax at all. It's not that I don't want Robbie. Far from it. I do want him, but I can't get hard and I can't e- eshac-… I can't say it.”
“Ejaculate,” Robbie answered.
“That's it.”
“Well, Aten, we first have to make certain that nothing is physically wrong with your reproductive organs. Erectile Dysfunction has a lot of causes. Considering your past of sexual abuse, Aten, there is no mystery why you are feeling what you are feeling when you are with Robbie in an intimate setting. Your body is remembering what it went through with your grandfather. Your body keeps the score, Aten. The cause of your difficulties may be purely psychological, but I don't want to rule out a physical possibility.”
Aten's eyes widened. “Erectile Dysfunction? That's something older people get! I'm only seventeen!”
“Aten, I know you are upset, but…”
“How could I possibly have that at my age?”
Zira shrugged. “Aten, I'm going to get a blood sample and examine you. Let me get a gown for you.”
“Exam?”
Zira nodded. “Yes, I have to make sure there isn't a physical reason why you can't ejaculate.”
“Dr. Zira, can Robbie stay in here with me? I don't want him to leave.”
“Absolutely. He can be here for support. Back in a moment.”
Aten wrung his hands nervously. He looked at his shaking hands. “I can't believe it….I'm trembling like a leaf.”
Robbie stood up and put his hand on Aten's trembling hand. “I'm right here.”
Zira returned with a gown and Aten changed. Robbie folded Aten's clothes and laid them on the chair. When Zira returned, he instructed Aten to lay on his back. Aten laid back and held Robbie's hand tightly. He breathed deep in and out.
A touch to his manhood made him squeak and whimper.
“I am going to touch you, Aten. I'm looking for discoloration or inflammations.”
Aten whimpered.
“Aten, it's only me,” Zira said as he rolled the chair between Aten's legs. “I need you to relax for me, Aten.”
Aten nodded and closed his eyes tightly. “It's only Dr. Zira…It's only Dr. Zira.”
The pair of hands slid up his length and massaged the globes at the base.
“It's only me, Aten. I'm examining you for any lumps or abnormalities.”
Aten let out another whimper and squeezed Robbie's hand. “Keep grandfather away, Robbie.”
Robbie nodded. “He won't come in.”
“Oh Ra,” Aten whimpered and swallowed hard.
“Aten, this is normal for this examination. Don't be worried about becoming aroused. It's common. I'm touching some very important parts of your body here that react to this type of touch.”
Aten felt Zira examine the hair around his groin.
“I'm just looking for any other abnormalities. You still with me, Aten?”
Aten closed his eyes. “I want to go home.”
“I know, Aten. Everything looks good here. Okay, now. I have to examine your prostate, Aten. I'm going to put a finger into you and examine you. If you feel overwhelmingly uncomfortable, you let me know.”
Aten gripped Robbie's hand as he felt a slick finger slip into him. Aten's mouth fell open and he drew in sharp breaths. “Ow….”
“I know, Aten. Try to bear down. It will relieve some pressure.”
Aten felt the ache between his legs grow and he started to fight back tears. “Grandfather…..”
“Aten, he's not here. It's just Zira and I.”
Aten sobbed. “Why won't he leave me alone?”
Zira buried the digit inside him and allowed Aten some time to adjust.
He slowly turned his finger and Aten arched his back. “Pain…pain…pain….Grandfather, stop…”
Robbie saw Aten tense and he leaned down to whisper in Aten's ear. “Aten, it's okay, baby.”
“Breathe deep, Aten. Remember those relaxation techniques you discussed with Chapman.”
Aten shook his head and tried pulling back. “I can't…I can't…please stop.”
Aten felt something abruptly leave his body and the panic quickly faded.
“See, Aten? I stopped because you told me to. Robbie would do the same.” Zira discarded his gloves. “You are with people who will stop when you ask and respect your wishes, Aten. You're not that helpless child anymore.”
Aten clung to Robbie, shaking.
“Robert, can you help him get dressed?”
Robbie nodded. “Yeah, let's give him a few minutes.”
“I didn't feel anything wrong. Everything felt fine.”
“That's good.”
“You did well, Aten. Get dressed and schedule an appointment to have that blood test just in case.”
Robbie nodded and kissed Aten's forehead. “I will, doctor. Thank you.”
Zira left and Robbie stroked Aten's hair.
“It's okay, Aten. Nobody will hurt you like that anymore.”
***************************
Aria packed her dresses and turned to Kai. “Kai, baby, put your toys in that bag.”
“We're moofing away, mommy? Why?”
Aria folded her shirt. “Well, angel…..since mommy's having a baby, we need a bigger place to live. We can still come back and see Nana if you want.”
Kai smiled wide. “Really?”
“Yes, baby.”
Kai jumped up and down, his blue and white spiky hair bouncing.
“Okay, angel, time to pack. We can go to McDonalds for dinner and get you a kids meal for dinner.” (McDonalds…don't own.)
Kai squealed happily. “McDon-dalds!”
Umi came in, wiping his forehead of sweat. “The boat is cleaned from bow to stern. You ready to go, little man?”
Kai nodded and hugged his father's legs. “Mommy ted we tan go to McDon-dalds for din-der!”
“She did? Well, that sounds like a good treat for my little mer-man!”
Aria grabbed her deck. `Mother taught me to duel….and father sharpened my skills. I shouldn't leave without paying my father back for all the pain he caused my mother. I owe it to mother to show the skills I have.'
Aria walked down the steps and found her father outside sitting on the front lawn.
Bakura was sitting solemnly on the ground.
“Father, I'm taking Umi and Kai. I'm going to move out.”
Bakura raised his head. “Why?”
“Because I found Marik beating up on mother this morning, and frankly, I don't know if I can stand being here anymore. I can't expose my son to your violence.”
Bakura stood up. “Aria, if you leave---.”
“I have to leave! I can't stand you anymore! But if mother ever needs a place to stay because either you or Marik beat him up, he is welcome at my house! Just know that if you come knocking on my door to hurt him, you will have to get past me! And I guarantee you that you will not win against me!”
Bakura growled. “Aria, please just listen to me, I repented! I regret hurting your mother and I do not want to hurt him!”
“Yeah, right. I can't believe you.”
“It's the truth!”
Aria crossed her arms. “I challenge you to a duel, father!”
“What?!”
“I challenge you to a duel! I'm going to pay you back for all the pain you caused my mother!”
“Aria, I do not want to duel you!”
Aria grinned. “That's because you know you will lose against me.”
Bakura narrowed his eyes. “You are so cocky!”
“I got that from you!”
“There's no way you can beat me, girl!”
Aria laughed. “You know I will and that is why you don't want to!”
Bakura narrowed his eyes. “Okay, girl! You're on! I'll show you what real dueling is all about!”
Aria smiled. “You're on! May the best GIRL win!”
