Bring Me Home

Hayden listened to the radio and bit into his sandwich. Eric and Jason were looking down at the street below, snickering at the concerned crowd.

[An attempt has been made on Joseph Wheeler-Kaiba's life today. A witness claims that six men had entered Mr.Kaiba's
room and drew firearms. The six men have not been identified and have been reported as fleeing the scene. Only Mr.
Kaiba's nephew had witnessed the men entering Mr. Kaiba's room. Mr. Kaiba remains in serious condition at Domino
Hospital.]

Hayden narrowed his eyes. “Fuck!! He's still alive!”

Seto looked at Mokuba. “Joey's still alive.”

Mokuba wavered as he sat on the floor. “What?” he asked tiredly.

“Are you okay, Mokuba?”

Mokuba leaned against the glass. “So hungry…..”

Jeanie took Mokuba's hand. “Come on, Mokie…..stay with us.”

“So tired….so…”

Mokuba leaned against the glass and his eyes closed.

Ivy and Cassie moved to their father and gripped onto him tightly. “Daddy! Daddy! Wate up!”

Jeanie shot a worried glance at Seto.

Seto narrowed his eyes at Hayden. “Look at what you did to my little brother!”

Hayden jumped off of the desk and walked towards Seto. “I did nothing to him! He deserves to die anyway!”

“How can you say that after everything that your daddy did with you? Joey used to sit with you and watch the Indy 500 with
you. He used to take you out for ice cream. Daddy tucked you in at night when you were too afraid to have me tuck you in.
When you were sick, your daddy was always first in your room giving you soup and your medicine. Joey loves you very
much.”

Hayden covered his ears. “ENOUGH OF YOUR LIES!”

“Joey did everything he could to be the father you never had. He loved you very much, Hayden!”

“I SAID ENOUGH!”

“Joey and I gave you the love you never had. We wanted to make things better because we both love you! You are our
son!”

Hayden pointed his gun at Seto. “I SAID SHUT THE FUCK UP!”

Hayden pulled the trigger and fired.

Robbie and Jeanie jumped. Ivy, Cassie, and Lily ran to Jeanie as Seto let out a painful scream.

Seto grit his teeth and looked down as his shirt soaked red with his blood around his shoulder. The CEO panted heavily and
leaned against the glass as the wound bled.

Robbie struggled with his ropes and Eric aimed his gun at him. “JUST TRY IT, MORGAN! I'LL BLOW YOUR FUCKING HEAD OFF!

Robbie panted and froze as he looked up at Eric.

Ivy gripped onto her mother and cried loudly.

Seto winced and groaned as his shoulder bled profusely.

Hayden's eyes focused on the wound in Seto's shoulder. He stared at it, watching Seto's shirt turn crimson.

The CEO shifted against the window as his injury burned.

Hayden turned to see the door open. “It's you.”

Seto's old visitor had returned and grinned.

“I came to speak one last time to him,” the man said.

The phone rang and Eric picked it up. “Yeah…Eric here…..what? They're trying that shit again? We'll be right down.” Eric
slammed the phone on the receiver. “Hayden, Jason and I have to go to the back of the building. Seto's bitches are trying
to burst through the back door!”

Hayden growled. “Kill them!”

Eric and Jason ran out of the room.

Hayden turned to the visitor. “Better make it quick. I'm killing him right here and now.”

The visitor walked up to Kaiba and kneeled. The man smiled.

“My, my, High Priest….you went and had yourself shot.”

Seto bit his lip and whimpered as his body burned.

“Hayden looks serious, Seto. He looks like he wants to kill you now.”

Seto opened up an eye and winced. “Save….the….children…and…Mokuba.”

The visitor touched Seto's bleeding shoulder and the CEO let out a wail of pain.

“Why should I do that when you are not willing to help me? That's not too fair, Seto Roka Kaiba.”

Robbie leaned towards the visitor. “This is no time to be talking! Do something!”

The visitor turned to face Robbie. “Are you afraid of dying?”

“Aten needs me. I can't die yet!”

The man grinned. “Your life, Mokuba's life, Jeanie's life, and those little girls' lives are in the hands of Seto Kaiba. If he
refuses to give into my demands, then all of you will die with a bullet in your brain. Is that how you want to die, Robbie?”

Robbie swallowed hard. “No….”

“Seto, I'm sure you don't want Mokuba to die. He's your own flesh and blood. You sacrificed a lot to keep him safe. Why would you waste it all away by having him executed because of your stubborn nature?”

Seto groaned and winced from the pain. “I don't want…Mokuba..to die.”

The visitor grinned. “Then tell me what I want to hear….and I will make all of this……unpleasantness go away.”

Seto's mouth hung open and his head leaned against the window of the office.

The visitor leaned into Seto. “Tell me you will join me….the Final Battle is your Final Destiny, Seto Kaiba. You can't escape
your destiny.”

Seto opened a blue eye and opened his mouth to speak.

“Everyone here is going to die….if you do not act now, Seto.”

Seto's POV

Yami…is right.

If I do nothing, everyone here will die.

If I agree to Yami's demands, I will be betraying my family….the ones I care about.

If Robbie dies, Aten loses the only one he loves. He loses everything.

If Mokuba and I perish, Jaimen and Ceres are the heirs to KaibaCorp's fortune….

But Ceres will be left without a father if Mokuba dies. Ceres will be without a mother if Jeanie is killed. And he will be all
alone if Lily, Ivy, and Cassie are dead. They are only little children.

They've been through so much already from this ordeal.

I wouldn't want to make this worse for them.

How can I agree to help Yami hurt Aria and Aten?

If I don't agree with Yami's demands…..then everyone loses….

I can't let that happen.

Normal POV

Seto tilted his head back and whispered, “I have no choice….”

The man grinned and ran his fingertips down Seto's cheek. “Good boy.”

Yami stood up and turned to Hayden. Seto watched as the visitor's clothes melted into Yami's outfit. Yami's tri-colored hair
appeared from the black hair on his head.

Hayden's eyes widened and his finger quivered on the trigger. “It's….It's you!!!!”

Yami laughed and raised his hands. “Did you miss me, Hayden?”

Hayden stepped back and his lower lip quivered. “No….It can't….be.”

Yami stepped towards Hayden. “It is me. And now I will see to your painful death, Hayden.”

Hayden's hand shook and he fired his gun at Yami. The pharaoh held up his hand as the bullets ricocheted into the wall.
Robbie let out a scream as a bullet scraped against his arm.

Yami narrowed his eyes and muttered under his breath. Hayden flew towards Yami.

The pharaoh gripped Hayden by the neck, making the teen gasp and struggle for breath.

Jeanie held the children close to her as she saw Hayden's face turn red from lack of oxygen. A smirk crossed Yami's lips as
the boy struggled in his grasp.

Yami tore the gun away from Hayden's grasp and casually placed it on the desk.

“Hayden Kaiba…you are guilty of attempting to assassinate my High Priest. Guilty of existence….and guilty of treason, trying
to kill me. The punishment for your existence….is death.”

Seto opened his eyes and saw Yami carrying Hayden around to the side of his desk. “Yami…..no….,” the CEO whimpered.

Yami reached into Seto's desk and removed his letter opener.

“Yami….don't….kill…..”

Yami slammed Hayden down on the desk. The teen looked up in horror as Yami stood between his legs and raised the
dagger.

Seto's eyes widened. ”Don't kill my son!”

Yami raised the letter opener and Seto tensed.

“DON'T KILL HIM! PLEASE!”

Yami slammed the blade of the letter opener into Hayden's chest, making the teen's body spasm.

Hayden's eyes widened and he screamed as the blade pierced his lungs and his heart. Jeanie covered her children's ears.

Yami picked up Hayden's twitching body and threw it on the ground. The pharaoh walked over to the hostages and cut
Robbie, Seto and Mokuba's ropes around their wrists.

Seto winced with every movement as he crawled over to Hayden's gasping, twitching body.

The CEO cradled Hayden's body in his arms and touched Hayden's cheek.

“Hayden?.....”

Hayden looked at Seto. His gaze appeared differently than before. “Why…are….*cough*…you…holding me?”

Seto wiped away a tear. “You're still my son.”

Hayden gasped for breath. “Why?…I…almost…killed ….you.”

“Hayden….your daddy and I still love you.”

Hayden closed his eyes and whimpered. “Why…does this…feel….familiar?”

“What? Me holding you?”

Hayden trembled. “Yes.”

“When you were a little boy and you were sick….I held you when you were asleep. You never saw me come in after work and
just hold you.”

Hayden's body convulsed as his chest bled profusely. “You…did?”

Seto wiped Hayden's lip as a small trail of blood leaked from the corner of his mouth. “Yes. I did.”

Hayden closed his eyes tightly. “I'm sorry…..I'm so….sorry….”

Seto brought Hayden against him and hugged him tightly. “I love you, Hayden.”

A tear fell down Hayden's cheek as his face grew pale. “I love you, too……Dad.”

Seto buried his face in Hayden's fiery red hair and sobbed. “You called me dad…..”

Hayden looked up into the ceiling. “Daddy…..Mommy? Sister?”

Seto looked up. Nobody was there.

A smile crossed Hayden's face. “My family has come to bring me home……”

“Hayden?”

Hayden smiled and fell limp against Seto……dead.

Seto closed his eyes tightly and held Hayden's body against him. “No…..No, Hayden…..gods…I forgive you, Hayden….”

Seto kissed Hayden's cheek and sobbed.

Robbie staggered to the desk and called the ambulance.

Yami grinned and looked down at Seto. “I will rid the buildings of these criminals one by one.”

Yami left the room.

Robbie picked up Lily and held her tightly. “It's okay, baby girl. Jeanie, let me help you take the girls to a safe place.”

Jeanie carried Ivy and Cassie out of the room and screamed as she saw two men being thrown from the library and into the
hallway, their bodies' turned inside-out.

Jeanie ran into the study as Robbie limped behind her. Robbie put Lily and put her in her mother's lap.

“Girls, stay right here. Everything's going to be okay.”

Lily sobbed and clung to Robbie. “Wobbie no weave!”

Robbie winced as his arm burned. “Lily, I'm not leaving. I have to check on Seto.”

Ivy wailed loudly. “Wobbie no weave!!!!!!!!”

Robbie kissed Ivy and Lily's cheeks. “Girls, I promise to be right back.”

Lily clutched onto Robbie tightly and sobbed. “NO WEAVE!”

Robbie picked the five year old into his arms. “I'll take care of her, Jeanie. I'll be right back.”

Robbie held the child against him as he limped into the other room. When he exited the hallway a man ran out of the
children's room and saw Robbie holding the child.

The man pointed a gun at Robbie and Lily. Robbie turned and shielded Lily with his body. A moment later, a sickening
squish was heard and Robbie turned. The walls were stained with blood and the man lay on the hallway floor in pieces.
Robbie held Lily against him and saw Yami stand in the middle of the hallway.

Robbie darted into Seto's office and saw the CEO still clutching onto Hayden's body.

“Seto?”

Seto shook his head and sobbed. “You didn't see me cry, Robert.”

Robbie shook his head. “No, Seto…Mr. Kaiba. I didn't see you cry.”

Seto stroked Hayden's cheek and kissed it. “Joey's going to be heart-broken. That is….if he survives.”

“I'm sure he will, Seto. We just have to have faith.”

Seto shook his head. “I haven't had that for years.”

Robbie held Lily in his arm and rocked her. “It's going to be okay, baby girl.”

Seto watched Robbie cuddle the little girl against his chest. Lily's crying slowly calmed down as she clutched onto Robbie.
Robbie stroked the little girl's hair tenderly.
“Robbie, go to the computer and pull up the hidden camera images.”

Robbie limped over to the chair and placed Lily on the ground, not wishing to put her on the bloody desk. Robbie looked at
the keyboard, splattered with Hayden's blood.

Robbie typed commands into the laptop. Images of the Crusaders fleeing the building and dying through the building
displayed on the screen. Robbie saw Eric and Jason flee out of one of the side doors.

“They're getting away!”

“Who?”

“Eric and Jason!”

“What else is going on?”

Robbie's eyes scanned the screen. “It looks like the medics came in! They'll be up here in no time.”

Seto looked down at Hayden's body and kissed Hayden's cheek. “Daddy still loves you, Hayden…..and so do I.”

Robbie brought Lily into his arms and cradled her gently. Robbie looked into the vacant eyes of his long-time friend.

When the medics burst into the room, the men ran to Seto and Mokuba.

Seto held Hayden and waved the doctors away. “Give me one minute with my boy.”

Seto looked down at Hayden and kisses his cheek. “Goodnight, baby boy.”

Seto paid Hayden down as the medics swarmed around him.

“Mr.Kaiba, you are hurt. We need to get you to the hospital.”

“Wait. I cannot go yet. There's someone else I have to see.”

“Please, Mr. Kaiba, you are hurt!”

Seto stood up. “I can't. I have to see someone first.”

Two doctors followed Seto to the elevator. The CEO leaned against the walls of the elevator and allowed the medics to
bandage his arm up.

When the elevator doors opened, Seto stepped out and looked behind the desk.

The police were covering up the body.

“Let me see it,” Seto ordered.

The policewoman pulled back the sheet covering the body. Seto's bottom lip quivered when he saw Alex's blank stare
looking up at the ceiling.

The CEO walked over to Alex and kneeled beside the body of the old man who had cared for him practically all his life.

Seto wiped away a tear and ran his fingers through Alex's bloody hair. “Alex….I'm sorry.”

The CEO bit his lip to prevent a sob from escaping him.

Now was not the time to cry. Not in front of these men….these strangers.

Crying was not to be done in public.

Crying was only for the weak, as his stepfather had beaten into him on numerous occasions.

Seto replaced the sheet over Alex's body and stepped back. He walked from behind the desk and saw the dozens of blank
stares coming from his employees.

The lobby was littered with bodies….injured and dead.

Many of the Crusaders' bodies lay among the casualties.

The medic put his hand on Seto's arm. “We have to get you to the hospital, Mr. Kaiba, sir.”

Seto took a step and felt the world spinning around him. He was unconscious before he realized that the medics had caught
him.

****************************

Aten ran down the hospital hallway, tears running down his face. His lungs struggled to bring in oxygen as he ran. His heart
stung as he strained his body to get to Robbie as fast as his legs could carry him.

He ran past the security guard crying and calling Robbie's name.

"Hey, you! No running!"

Ignoring the guard, he raced towards the Emergency Room where they were holding Robbie.

Aten stopped at the nurse's desk and panted. "Rob---bie....Robbie...I need to see Robbie."

The nurse looked up at Aten and raised her eyebrow. "Robbie who?"

Aten slammed his fists on the desk. "ROBERT ALLEN MORGAN-ISHTAR!"

The nurse held out her hands. "No need to shout, sir. Let me see if he can be seen."

The nurse stood up and Aten let out an irritated growl. Miranda arrived beside Aten and put her hand on his
shoulder. "Patience, Aten."

Aten leaned over, grabbing his chest and panting. His face turned red. "Pain...."

Miranda rubbed Aten's back. "It'll be okay, Aten."

Aten covered his mouth with his palm, trying to muffle his sobs. 'Robbie......'

The nurse returned. "I'll take you to him."

Miranda helped Aten stand up and held his hand as they walked toward Robbie's room.

When the nurse opened the door to Robbie's room, Robbie lifted his head. Aten stood at the doorway looking at Robbie.

The two boys stared at each other...both unable to move.

Aten saw Robbie's arm bandaged. Robbie had lost weight. Robbie's face looked pale.

"Aten?" Robbie asked as he looked at his husband with a red face and sweat coming down his forehead.

"Robbie?.............ROBBIE!!!"

Aten ran to Robbie and wrapped his arms around Robbie's shoulders. Robbie wrapped his arms around Aten's neck and
held him close.

"Aten....Aten....i love you...I love you," Robbie sobbed as he kissed Aten's cheek repeatedly.

"Robbie....I was afraid....I thought you were dead," Aten sobbed as he kissed Robbie's ear.

Miranda ran to Robbie's bed and hugged him from the other side. "Robbie...."

Daniel ran into the room and ran beside Miranda. "Robert..."

Robbie turned his crying eyes towards his parents and turned quickly to hug them. Miranda cradled Robbie's body against
her and kissed her son's forehead.

"You're back with your family now, baby."

Robbie cried quietly. "I was so scared....."

"I know you were, son," Daniel said as he hugged Robbie. "You were brave little soldier."

Robbie gripped onto his father, shaking uncontrollably. Aten rubbed Robbie's hair and kissed it.

Dr.Ginsby walked into the room with Robbie's chart. “Hello, sorry for the intrusion.”

Aten saw the woman approach him.

“Aten, can I speak with you in the hallway?”

“Of course. Robbie, I'll be right back.”

Aten followed the woman into the hallway and leaned against the wall, covering his mouth with his hand. Tears ran down his
face as he shook his head. “I thought Robbie was going to die in there.”

Dr. Ginsby nodded. “Robbie has been through a traumatic situation.”

“I know….I wish I could have saved him earlier.”

“Well, Robbie was lucky. He escaped with only a cut on his arm and a little bit of a bruised cheek. That's better than the
other hostages.”

“How is Seto Kaiba and the others?”

Dr. Ginsby looked into Aten's brown and purple eyes. “Seto is still in surgery for his shoulder. He was shot once in the
shoulder, but is expected to make a full recovery.”

“That's good.”

“Mokuba Kaiba is under observation for dehydration. His wife and his children appear fine. His wife said that she and the
girls were allowed to eat, so they are in stable condition.”

Aten bit his lip and looked up at Dr. Ginsby. “What about Hayden?”

The woman's face grew sympathetic and she put a hand on Aten's shoulder. “Aten…..Hayden is dead.”

The Egyptian's eyes grew wide and filled with tears. “Wh---What?”

“Hayden is dead.”

Aten covered his eyes to hide his tears. “Hayden…..why?”

Ginsby rubbed Aten's shoulder. “There was nothing anyone could do for him, Aten.”

“Seto must be so….upset.”

“It's never easy to lose a child, Aten, but Seto's a strong man. Now you have to be strong for Robbie and help him get over
this.”

Aten looked at the floor and remembered Hayden's timid little eye poking out from behind a chair when he first arrived at
KaibaCorp. The little five year old was afraid of his own shadow. `We used to color together….Hayden, Robbie, and I used
to play with Hayden's cars…..He had such a hard life….and now he's dead.'

Dr. Ginsby pat Aten's arm. “Aten, I know this is a lot for you to handle right now. I'll tell you what. Robbie can go home
today. Have him change those bandages on his arm and come back to see me next week so I can make sure that the
wound is healing.”
Aten nodded. “Okay. Thank you, doctor.”

“Aten, take care of yourself, too.”

“I'll try….”

“I have to talk to Daniel and Miranda and Robbie.”

Aten leaned against the wall. “I'll stay out here.”

“Okay. Collect your thoughts.”

Dr. Ginsby disappeared into the room. Aten covered his mouth and struggled to keep himself together.

`I have to be strong for Robbie's sake,' he thought. `For Robbie's sake…..'

***************************

Marik watched the television screen, grateful that no customers were in his line to bother him. He leaned against the
counter and tapped his finger against his arm.

[The standoff at KaibaCorp has finally come to an end. Mr. Kaiba and his family have been taken to Domino Hospital under
heavy guard. Reports state that the group suffered minor injuries and dehydration. Seto Kaiba is currently in surgery for a
gunshot wound to the shoulder. He is expected to make a full recovery.]

“Holy shit!”

“Ishtar, watch your language!” Marik's boss chided.

Marik ignored his boss and kept his eyes on the screen, unaware of a visitor at his cash register.

The person cleared his throat and Marik turned. “What is it?”

The yami crossed his arms as he saw Ryou standing there. “What do YOU want?” he asked spitefully.

“I came to get something to eat. That is….if you won't be a dick about it.”

Marik snarled. “In speaking of dick, how was the pharaoh the last time you let him stick it in you?”

“Better than you could ever hope to be,” Ryou sneered at the furious yami.

Marik growled and grabbed Ryou's shirt. He pulled Ryou over the counter. “You little shit…..”

Marik's boss and his co-workers raced to Marik's side and tried to pry Marik off of Ryou.

“Mr. Ishtar, go take your break!” Marik's boss yelled and pointed at him.

The yami growled. “Consider that the last dick you will ever have!”

“Mr. Ishtar, go! Now!”

Marik watched as the elderly stared wide-eyed at him. Several children had broken into tears at the sight of Yami Marik's
anger.

The boss turned to Ryou. “Are you okay, sir?”
Ryou brushed himself off. “That brute attacked me! I will never come here again!”

Ryou turned and left.

The yami sat in the locker room and narrowed his eyes.

`We have to go after Yami. This is bullshit….'

Marik raised his head as his boss entered the room.

“Marik Ishtar, explain to me why you assaulted a patron.”

“He insulted me.”

“That is no reason to assault a patron, Mr. Ishtar. I'm going to have to let you go.”

Marik stood up and threw his pirate's hat on the floor. “Fine. Take your shitty costume. I don't need this anymore.”

Marik opened his locker and grabbed his outfit. When he left the building, Ryou was nowhere to be found.

Marik narrowed his eyes. `I'm done with Ryou's shit. It's time to go to the Shadow Realm and finish this once and for all!'
