Marik rolled over and cuddled against Malik's back. “You are a wild one tonight, the yami chuckled as he kissed the back of his lover's neck.

Malik giggled. “I can't help it….that was fun.”

The yami grinned. “Yes….I'll have to take a few breaths before I pound the hell out of you again.”

The hikari shifted back against his yami with a satisfied, happy, content grin. “I'm game.”

The phone rang and Marik growled. “Oh, what the fuck? It's one in the morning….” The yami reached over. “Ishtar-Itemri Residence, this better be good at this hour.”

[Marik?]

“Isis?”

[Marik, it is time.]

“Time?”

[You must hand your Millennium Rod to Seto Kaiba….tonight.]

“Why tonight?”

[Because he will need it for the Final Battle.]

“Isis, it's really late---.”

[You can pound my brother to kingdom come after the battle has concluded.]

“Wait…how do you know that I'm---?”

[You're Marik Ishtar. When are you NOT pounding my brother to kingdom come?]

“……….Oh yeah.”

[Marik, hurry….you must take your Millennium Rod to Seto!]

“Wait….why would I want to give him my Rod? That would give Yami all of the Seven Millennium Items, minus the kids' items. Why do I want to make Yami more powerful?”

[Yami will not be able to control the items that Seto has in his possession. Your Item is safe with Seto…believe me.]

“So, I have to give moneybags my Rod?”

Isis groaned. [Yes, Marik, you must give your Rod to Seto.]

“What if he doesn't like my Rod? He has Joey's Rod.”

[Marik, you must hurry…any delay and Aten and Aria won't have a chance to defend themselves!]

“Aten and Aria? Where are they?”

[Preparing to face Greed in Domino Park. You must get that Item to Seto….right now.]

“Okay, okay, I'm going.” Marik hung up the phone and stood up looking for his pants in the dark. Malik, where's my pants?”

“You tore them off in a fit of passion.”

Marik groaned as he looked at the torn pants on the floor. “I lose more good pants that way.”

Malik giggled. “Tell me about it! You go through countless pairs every week!”

Marik hurriedly pulled his pants over his hips.

“Where are you going at this hour? What did my sister want?”

“I have to get my Rod over to KaibaCorp.”

Malik sat up. “Why at this hour? Seto's probably asleep.”

“I have to go,” the yami said as he pulled his shirt over his head.

Malik turned on the light and jumped out of bed.

“The Final Battle with Yami is tonight.”

“WHAT?!” Malik gasped

“I have to give Seto my Millennium Rod for the fight.”

Malik blocked Marik's way to the door. “Are you crazy? You give that Item to Yami and he'll have everything he needs!”

“Isis assured me that Yami won't be able to control the Items which he does not have in his possession. That is why I'm giving it to Seto,” Marik explained, tying his shoes. “That is why Seto needs to have it.”

Malik reached for his own pants. “I'm coming with you!”

Marik shook his head. “No. You stay here with Itemri and Ryou.”

“I'm not letting you go out there alone!” Malik sighed. “And we have to be there to support the kids!”

Marik grabbed the Millennium Rod. “ I know. I'll tell you what. I'll be back for you. Get Ryou and Itemri up and ready. I will be right back.”

The yami ran around his Light and returned to his side. “I promise.” Marik pressed his lips against Malik's and kissed him deeply.

“Be careful, Marik.”

Marik caressed Malik's face gently. “Don't worry about me, love. You get everyone ready. I'll be back.”

The blond yami raced out of the door and down the stairs. He grabbed the keys and his black leather jacket. Marik jumped in the car, turned the ignition, and raced away in near-record time.

*****Dream Sequence*******

Joey's POV

I walked through the dark, cold hallway. A blustery wind blew through the darkness as I strained to see. I wrapped my heavy shirt around me and shivered as I walked.

Torches lit up in the hallway, making me jump back. Rows of doors appeared on either side of the hallway.

What's all this about? The doors close to me were gold and silver. Other doors were oak and one door was white with a frilly curtain on it.

I walked towards a maple door that looked familiar. It was the door to the bedroom I shared with Seto. I opened it and found Seto kneeling on the floor by our large bed.

“Seto? Are you okay?”

Seto looked up at me with a sigh and shook his head. “It's no good, Joey. Can you give me a hand?”

I approached Seto slowly, looking around at the room which resembled our bedroom. There was something different about it. Something that I couldn't put my finger on…..

I kneeled in front of Seto and looked in front of him. “What do you need a hand with?”

A tiny whimper came from under the bed.

Oh…..that's what he needs help with…..

I leaned over and pulled the comforter up so I could look under the bed. “Hayden? Baby boy, are you okay?”

Hayden's terrified eyes stared back at me from underneath the bed. His tiny body trembled and he shifted out of my reach.

“Hayden, there's nothing to be afraid of….Your uncle isn't here.”

Hayden shook his head. “That's not what I'm afraid of.”

“He's afraid of me…..”

I turned my head and looked up. I saw Yami standing over me, holding Seto by the neck.

“Yami! Let go of Seto!”

Yami laughed. “He is mine! He will be sacrificed so that I may gain the power that I need!”

I stood up as Yami placed his hands on Seto's chest. Seto let out a scream as a bright light eminated from Yami's hand.

I grabbed Yami's arm and pulled as I saw Seto's eyes roll into the back of his head.

“Yami! Let go of Seto!”

“I will not let go of him until I have the power he possesses!”

Tears fell from my eye and I pulled harder. “Please don't kill Seto! Don't kill him!”

A small trail of blood came from Seto's mouth. His arms fell limp at his sides.

The light faded and Yami dropped Seto on the ground. I shoved Yami out of the way and kneeled beside Seto, shaking him slightly.

“Seto, speak to me!”

Seto's eyes remained where they had rolled…into the back of his head. I pulled Seto against me and cried.

Seto…..please speak to me.

Say something…..

Yami stood over me as I gathered Seto's body into my arms and stroked his hair.

Hayden screamed from under the bed. I looked up and saw Yami growing taller and laughing.

His height grew…..his laugh became deeper.

“Hayden! Come here!” I yelled.

Hayden scurried out from under the bed and ran into my arms. I clutched Hayden against my body and shielded him and Seto from Yami's growing height.

“Daddy, I'm scared!” Hayden cried out loudly.

I kissed Hayden's forehead. “It's okay, son! Daddy's here! Daddy will protect you!”

Yami grew taller and I had to get Seto and Hayden away from him. Yami reached down and grabbed Seto. He tore him away from me and he laughed.

“Now give me the boy!”

I grabbed Hayden and ran between Yami's tall legs. I carried him and ran out of the room.

“YOU CAN'T HIDE FROM ME, JOSEPH!”

I ran out of the room and down the hallway with Hayden in my hand. I don't want Yami to get his hands on Hayden again….

I can't let that happen!

I ran down the hall and opened the gold door. It weighed a ton! The heavy gold door slowly opened and I ran inside. The heavy door shut behind me. I knew we were safe from Yami.

I put Hayden on his feet and he looked up at me with those sad eyes he had as a chibi. His large green eyes looked up at me and he sniffled.

The door behind me seemed to lock.

“You won't be able to leave, Daddy.”

I swallowed hard.

“I have to try. I can't let anything happen to Seto, Hayden!”

Hayden stepped closer to me. “I will take care of Dad, Seto.”

Looking down at Hayden, I wanted to believe him. I had to save Seto no matter how what it took.

“Hayden, stay here. I will be right back!”

“Daddy, I will protect Mr. Kaiba. There's no need for you to be afraid.”

“How will you protect Seto, Hayden?”

Hayden smiled up at me. “I will. Don't be afraid.”

“Hayden, how can you---?”

“I will. Don't be afraid.”

My eyes looked into his green eyes.

Here was my son. Looking back at me as from the grave.

I wanted to hold him and kiss him…..just one last time.

“Hayden?......Can I hold you?”

Hayden walked up to me and lifted his arms.

I picked him up and brought the little five year old into my arms. I held him against me tightly and I nuzzled his cheek. “I love you, Hayden….”

I snuggled him against me and cuddled him with a smile.

I finally had a chance to give Hayden one last hug.

“I will protect …..Dad,” he said as he suddenly became lighter.

Hayden began to disappear.

“Hayden?”

“Don't be afraid.”

“Hayden, don't leave!”

Hayden smiled at me with a peace in his eyes that I have never seen before. “I love you, daddy.”

I held onto Hayden until there was nothing in my arms.

When he disappeared, I fell to my knees….Hayden was gone.

I opened my eyes and sat up quickly. I turned my head to see Seto beside me and…………

Seto's gone.

Where is he?

“Seto?”

I stood up and ran to the bathroom…..he wasn't in there.

I ran out of the door and into the hallway. Maybe Seto was in his office working late. It wouldn't be the first time he left bed early to go get work done at his office.

After opening the door and expecting to find him bent over his work, I found nothing.

He was gone.

Maybe he was with Jaimen.

I checked Jaimen's room. The teen was sleeping on his stomach with his arm hanging out of the bed. The living room and den were empty.

Maybe he's downstairs.

I took the elevator downstairs and found Maxine sitting at the guard desk. Alex's blood was still being cleaned from the tile underneath Maxine's chair. Seto decided to replace the tiles…..

I wonder when he'll have that done.

“Maxie, have you seen Seto?”

Maxie shook her head. “No, I haven't. I didn't see him. I just came on duty. Asher just went home. He's gone for the night….and most likely up to no good.”

I looked around at the empty lobby. Maybe the guys in the Public Relation Office know.

“Thanks, Maxie girl.”

“No problem.”

Jay was watching security cameras when I entered the office.

“Nobody came in here since Asher left, Joe. Sorry about that,” he said, munching on another donut.

Where could Seto be?

I was ready to leave when he stopped me. “Joey, I have something here for you. Asher said he took it from Seto when he left.”

“Seto left?”

“Apparently….He's probably with Donny. Donny said he had to take Seto somewhere.”

“Why didn't Asher tell Maxine that Seto left the building?”

“I don't know.”

Jay handed me an envelope. “This is for you.”

I opened it and read it:

Dear Joey,

I am terribly sorry for what I must do. I have freed KaibaCorp and have saved the lives of countless people…..

But at a great sacrifice…..

I have no choice but to join Yami in the Final Battle against Aten and Aria….something for which I will never forgive myself. I will understand if you never forgive me for what I am about to do….I have no choice. I must help Yami win his battle against Aten and Aria….and I must be the one to take their lives….

Yami has to be victorious. I must help him achieve this goal, despite the fact it goes against everything that I feel.

I must do what I have to…..even if it means destroying part of my family.

Please don't think that I do this willingly…..I don't. I do not wish to kill Aten and Aria. Both of them have always felt like our own children……

But that can't be anymore….

I can't think of all the times we had….I have to keep my goal in mind.

That is what is hard…..

I cannot tell you where I am…..If I do so, you could be harmed. That is something I do not want. I don't want any more people to die or to be hurt because of me.

After the battle, Joey, I know you will not see me in the same light….

That is why I have to do this. Yami had threatened your life. Yami had threatened to let everyone in KaibaCorp perish during the Crusaders' siege. I couldn't allow that.

I did this to save you….and to save the people at my company.

Please do not think less of me because of this…..

I stared wide-eyed at the letter.

I couldn't believe it…..

Seto….was going to kill Aten and Aria?

I heard Maxine calling out in the lobby. I ran to where Maxine was standing.

Marik was standing there with the Millennium Rod in hand.

“Mr. Ishtar? What are you doing here?”

“Puppy! Maxine! I have to see Seto!” he called to us.

Maxine opened the door. “What do you want at this hour?”

“I came to give Seto my Rod!”

I ran to him. “He's not here! He left a note! Look at this!”

Marik read the note quickly and cursed. “SHIT! DAMN! FUCK!”

“What is it?”

“Seto is at Domino Park, Joey! I have to get back to my family. When you get ready, go to Domino Park. I will meet you there!”

I ran to Jay to tell him what had happened.

Seto….please be okay.

Marik's POV

I rushed home and found Bakura helping Ryou put his jacket on.

“Are you guys ready?”

Malik nodded and wrapped his coat around him. “I'm ready.”

Bakura narrowed his eyes. “We better not be too late!”

Ryou's cheeks were pale. His eyes were full of worry. “I hope my babies will be okay! I have to try to stop Yami!”

“Hikari, you can't stop him! What are you going to do?”

“I can't let Yami kill my children! I just can't! Maybe if I offer myself in their place, he'll let them live!”

I grabbed Ryou's shoulders. “Ryou, I have to think of your safety, too. You can't let yourself be taken by him again. I won't let anyone hurt you or our children.

Ryou hugged me tightly. “I will do what I can to save the lives of my children…..my mother did the same for me.”

His brown eyes were glistening.

“I know you're upset. Maybe you should stay here, Ryou.”

“I won't! I can't! My children need me! I will not abandon my children now!”

Bakura opened the door. “Stop pissing around! We have to get to get going!”

I turned to Itemri. “Our kids are in Domino Park…..”

Malik grabbed Ryou's arm. “Let's go!”

Malik and Ryou ran out of the house. I followed them closely.

Everyone piled in the car and I sped off towards the park.

Bakura growled beside me. I could sense his anger and his worry. I didn't blame him. I was just as worried.

We were going to watch our children fight Yami once and for all.

Bakura gripped the handle on the door tightly. He had every right to be worried: His daughter was pregnant……

I clutched the steering wheel tightly. My son was terminally ill…….his heart was weak.

“MARIK, FOR RA'S SAKE, LOOK OUT!” I heard my Light cry out.

I steered the car out of the path of an oncoming car.

When we arrived at the nearby Domino Park, our tires screeched.

We sprung out of the car just as Seto's white limousine pulled up.

Joey and Jay jumped out of the limo.

I saw a large dueling arena in the middle of the field. The arena was elevated.

“ATEN!” I screamed as I ran towards the field.

“BABIES!” Ryou called as he ran behind me.

“ARIA KANIKA!” Itemri called out.

Malik, Joey, and Jay followed close behind.

We arrived at the side of the arena and looked up at our son and daughter, their hair spiked, both of them were growling angrily.

“KIDS!” Ryou called up.

Aten turned his head and saw us. “Mother? Father?”

“Aten, come down, baby!” Ryou called. “Aria! Come down here!”

Aria stepped towards the edge of the dueling arena. “I can't, mom. I have to do this! Yami must be defeated!”

“Aria, what about your baby? Aten, what about your heart?”

Yami stepped to the edge of the dueling platform. “Well, well, if it isn't the mother of my future offspring? How are you feeling, Ryou? Any kicking in there yet?”

I narrowed my eyes at Yami. “YOU FUCKING BASTARD! You couldn't have made Ryou pregnant!”

Yami laughed at me. I gripped my Millennium Rod tightly in my hands. “How do you know? Have you tested him yet?”

“I'm not pregnant! I can't be!” Ryou called up defensively.

Bakura growled. “If you did make MY Ryou pregnant, I will cut your balls off and serve them to Sekhmet!”

Aria wrinkled her nose. “Not even my dog would eat his cock, Father. It's too small…..It would barely be an appetizer.”

I was quite proud of Aria for that remark. That was a damn good comeback.

I saw moneybags stand beside Yami.

Joey ran to the side of the platform. “Seto, come back down! Please! We can talk about this!”

“The time for talking is done, Puppy. I have to do this.”

“No, you don't have to do this! Please come down!”

Seto shook his head. “I'm sorry, Joey.”

Joey tried so hard to get Seto to come down. I pitied him. I knew it would be a futile effort.

My eyes gazed up at my yami son. He looked at Yami with contempt beyond contempt….hatred beyond compare.

I knew what that hatred was like.

I was experiencing that feeling right now.

Yami grinned. “We're missing several spectators, but I'm sure they'll come eventually.”

Malik walked up to Joey and pulled him back. We walked back to be able to see the dueling field.

“YAMI!” a voice called some distance away.

I turned and saw Yugi running towards us with Glenn in tow.

“ARIA!” Umi called, running close behind Yugi.

Yami laughed. “Speak of the devils! Here they are now!”

“YAMI, YOU HAVE TO STOP THIS!” Yugi called from the side of the arena.

“Hello, love. You've come just in time to see me eliminate the only two people standing between me and ruler of this world and the next!”

“Yami, I beg of you! Please don't!”

Yami narrowed his eyes at his Light. “When I am done with this duel, Yugi, I will eliminate Glenn and you will love me again!”

“How could I love you after what you are doing now?”

“The Millennium Rod will make you mine….forever!” he laughed.

I walked up the steps to the dueling platform. I walked across the platform to Seto. I handed him my Millennium Rod.

“Moneybags, now that I am giving you my Item, you must promise me one thing.”

Seto looked at me with his large blue eyes. “And that is?”

“When all this is done…..promise to kick Yami's ass.”

Seto nodded. “That's a given.”

I turned on my heel and walked back towards the stairs. I descended the stairs and joined the family.

“Aria! You can't!” Umi cried out.

“MOMMY! MOMMY!” Kai cried in Umi's arms.

“You brought your son?” Bakura asked.

“I didn't have a babysitter,” Umi explained.

“WAIT! STOP!”

I turned and Robbie was running towards the platform. “Aten, please reconsider! Get down from there!”

Aten shook his head. “I have to do this, Robbie. Robbie, Dr. Chapman and I were discussing what I can offer you that nobody else can. I've figured out what I offer that nobody else can….my life. I will sacrifice my life…so you can live.”

“Aten…….I don't want you to sacrifice yourself! I love you!”

“I love you, too, Robbie. But I must do this.”

“ENOUGH!” Yami growled. “IT'S TIME TO BEGIN!”

I saw Yami and everyone shuffle their decks. Everyone's Life Points rose to 8000.

“I suppose we should let the weakest duelist go first. This way he has a chance to get a card on the field before he's dies. Aten, you go first,” Yami said with a grin.

Pompous bastard.

Aten drew a card and looked at his hand.

Yami Aten/Aku's POV

I looked at my hand. That pharaoh thinks he can get the best of me?

I'll show him!

I'll show them all what the darkness inside can do!

“You think you can scare me, pharaoh? You have another thing coming! I'm not as scared as you may think. I am stronger than you realize!”

Yami laughed at me. “Prove it!”

I narrowed my eyes. “Fine! I'll play one card face down. Two Magic/ Traps face down and I'll end my turn.”

Yami laughed. “That is how you are going to show me how strong you are? By playing defense monsters? You're hiding, Aten! You've spent a lifetime hiding! Because you are weak and you can't face the truth!”

“STOP IT!” Aria snarled. “I'll wipe that smile off of your face with my Dark Blade (1800/1500) in attack mode! Two Magic/Traps and I end my turn!”

Uncle Seto drew a card. I couldn't believe he had joined Yami….

He's a traitor.

He means to hurt Aria and myself.

I won't anything happen to this body…what happens to the girl is only of concern to Aten...not us.

Seto drew a card and placed two magics face down and Battle Ox (1700/1000) in attack mode.

The pharaoh pulled a card and laughed. “I summon the `Skilled Dark Magician' (1900/1700) in attack mode! I also lay two magic/traps down! Let's start this battle to end all battles! `Skilled Dark Magician! Attack Aten's face down card!”

The magician raised its scepter and blasted my monster.

`The Scarred Youth' appeared on my side of the field.

I laughed hard. “My monster has 2500 defense points! You lose 600 points and it's just the start of the duel!”

The pharaoh growled as his life points fell to 7400.

“It's just the beginning of my revenge!” I called to him. “I will not stop until I have my vengeance!”

Aria laughed. “You're getting old, pharaoh! Maybe you should retire!”

Yami grinned. “I am not going down without a fight! I activate `Ookazi' on Aten! FEEL THE FURY OF THE GODS!”

I looked up and a rain of fireballs crashed around me. I let out a scream as the heat hurt my skin. I heard Robbie and mother crying for me.

My Life Points dropped to 7200.

Yami grinned. “If I'm going down, I'm taking you with me!”
