—You people are acting like it's over. Why? We've still got a long way to go. There are still some issues left to resolve. Besides the whole Tea thing really isn't finished and Yuugi and Atemu's relationship is heading for the rocks.
—So I guess My Slave for All Timewill be next. And I had all these good ideas about where Kisara came from. It's because she's Priest Seto's girlfriend, right? Kaiba fans do not like that, apparently. Well, anyways, let me finish this one first and then move on to My Slave.
Chapter 8 - You're not Thinking
It was only a matter of time before the media found out about Yuugi's big discovery. Early the next morning, reporters were banging on Yuugi's front door, asking for interviews. Neither Yuugi nor Atemu answered the door. Yuugi closed all the curtains on the windows in case the reporters tried spying for juicy gossip.
“What are those things that they carry around their necks? The shiny things that make this light flash in your eyes?”
“Those are called cameras.” Yuugi said, making breakfast for both of them. “Those reporters want to know everything about my discovery of your tomb.”
“Isn't that a good thing?”
“Not really. I went looking for your tomb for my grandpa.”
“Are you happy you did?”
Yuugi at a plate of eggs and bacon in front of him. “Sure I'm happy. But…I don't know. Something about the whole discovery…”
Atemu snapped a strip of bacon in half and ate it. “What `bout dit?”
“Don't talk with your mouth full.” Yuugi scolded. He shrugged and answered Atemu's question. “I just…no offense, Atemu, but I expected your tomb be…better.”
The Pharaoh narrowed his eyes and asked, “Better how? My tomb is just as grand as my forefathers before me!”
“I didn't mean to offend you! All I saw was this little hallway with a huge treasure room and—”
“Ha! A huge treasure room? So you found only one? Don't take me for an idiot, Yuugi. There are at least seven treasure rooms in my tomb, along with many traps and secret rooms.”
“Huh?” Yuugi groaned. “Dammit, I should've looked harder.” What has gotten into me? I need to clam up and focus!
“I can show you.” Atemu said. “I supervised the building and construction of the tomb personally.”
“That would kinda scare me. I mean, to know that I was helping build and create my own grave.”
“It's no worse than what you do. Writing your own will, picking out your own coffin, telling who to speak at your funeral…it's the same process.” Atemu replied.
“You're really getting the hang of modern living, aren't you?”
“Thanks to you. You've taught me so much and I'm grateful.” Atemu stood and leaned across the short distance to kiss Yuugi on the cheek.
The young man blushed slightly and let the Pharaoh have his way on the breakfast table.

Tea called Yuugi and asked if he would come and meet her. Yuugi felt guilty for leaving her like he did last night. It was time to officially severe their love connection. Although that didn't mean he would completely destroy his friendship with her.
Atemu was against Yuugi going to see Tea. He protested that she would try to seduce Yuugi and take him away.
Yuugi laughed. “Tea wouldn't do that. Atemu, I know her better than you do. She's been my friend ever since we were children. I just have to calmly explain to her that I don't want to date her again and that I love you now. But I'll still be her friend no matter what.”
Atemu glared at him. “I still think it's a bad idea.”
“Look, I won't tell her about you being an ancient Egyptian king. I'll just say, `Tea, I'm sorry, but I love Atemu now. I can't be your boyfriend anymore, but I'll always be your friend.' See?”
Atemu stared at him for a few minutes, pondering over what Yuugi had said. Finally he shrugged and replied, “All right.”
In just ten minutes, Yuugi was sitting on Tea's porch swing while Tea brought them out some coffee to drink. Tea was dressed in her Mickey D's uniform. She told Yuugi that she would have to go to work in an hour.
“Don't worry, I'll make this short.” Yuugi told her.
Tea nodded, sipping her coffee. “Yuugi, about last night…”
“I didn't mean to run off like that. It was rude and I apologize for it.”
“Apology accepted.” Tea said quietly. After an awkward pause, she asked, “Why did you call out for Atemu?”
“That's what I came here to tell you. Atemu and I are…well, we haven't gone out on a date yet, but he and I are lovers.” Yuugi replied.
“Lovers? How long have you two known each other?”
“Uh…three or four days, I think.”
“Three or four days?!” Tea repeated. “And you're already lovers? Aren't you going a little too fast, Yuugi?”
“Not really. Atemu's the best thing that could ever happen to me.”
Tea looked hurt by that statement. “I see. What exactly does he do for you besides sex?”
Hey, his sex is good. “Well, he's a good listener and it makes me happy knowing I can come home and see him waiting for me.”
Tea frowned a little. “Don't I listen to you?”
“N-No…I mean, yes you do. But see—”
Tea sighed heavily and said, “Yuugi, you're just not thinking this through. I'm happy that you found your soul-mate, but you're making the same mistake I made with Jean-Claude.”
“What do you mean?”
“When I started going out with Jean-Claude, I was so blinded by my happiness that I failed to notice what was really happening. Jean-Claude came to me in my most difficult hour and I was so relieved that I saw him as my escape. But now I know better. I don't want you to make that same mistake, Yuugi.”
Yuugi frowned hard at her. “So you're telling me to break up with Atemu?”
“I didn't say that.” Tea replied, sharply. “I think you ought to slow down your relationship with him. I believe in love at first sight, but—”
“No. My relationship with Atemu is just fine. I don't…we don't have to slow down if we don't want to. Hell, I can even marry him tonight if I wanted to!”
Tea threw her coffee right in his face. Yuugi cried out in surprise and pain. The coffee wasn't extremely hot, but it was warm. He stared at Tea's angry face. “Yuugi Mutou, stop that right now! I'm only trying to look out for you! You're not thinking clearly, don't you see that?!”
“I'm not the one you got pregnant from a French player, you stupid bitch!”
Silence fell on them with a harsh thud. Never in his life had Yuugi bad mouthed his friends, much less Tea. Her blue eyes were wide in shock and hurt. Yuugi immediately felt sorry. “Tea…I'm sorry. I didn't—”
“Just go.” Tea's voice was low and shaky. Either she was going to cry or she was really pissed off. “Get off my property and never come back.”
“Tea, I didn't mean to say that. I-I was just angry.”
“And so am I! I was just worried about you.” Tea shouted, tears appearing in her eyes. “But if that's not what you want, then fine!”
“Tea—”
Tea spun around on her heel and slammed the door in his face. That was the last time Yuugi would ever talk to her face-to-face.

“Yuugi, what happened? Why do you smell funny?”
“It's coffee.” Yuugi said. “Tea opened my eyes a little. Atemu, I think we ought slow our relationship down a little.”
Atemu frowned. “I knew she would try to take you away from me.”
“That's not what happened.” He explained everything and they ended up sitting on the couch with Foxie between them. When Yuugi had finished, he felt like crying. “I can't believe I treated a friend like that. I feel so low.”
Atemu brushed Foxie off the couch and hugged Yuugi close. “If slowing down will make our love stronger, then perhaps we should.”
Yuugi sighed and cuddled against the Pharaoh's warmth. “We'll still go back to your tomb. You'll show me where the other rooms are, won't you?”
“Of course. This trip will give us a chance to bond more.” Atemu said and kissed Yuugi's forehead. “I love you.”
“So do I, Atemu…”
—I told you I wasn't done yet. In the next chapter, Atemu and Yuugi go back to Egypt and explore Atemu's tomb a little further. Also Yuugi discovers more about the Scroll and an awful secret that the Pharaoh's been keeping from him. So stay tuned, loyal readers!
