Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan Fiction ❯ Black Dragon Empress ❯ Prologue ( Prologue )
'Black Dragon Empress'
Disclaimer: I do not own Yu-gi-oh!
Author Notes: This will mainly be a Yami/Tea fic… but I did throw in a strange OC who is only there to terrorize Seto Kaiba, but she will kind of push Tea to admit her feelings for Yami. And it will have one card that I did invent for the sake of the story, the 'Red-Eye Demon Dragon'. But hey, don't worry, it wont be unbeatable, quite contrary, it pales in comparison to Seto Kaiba's Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon.

Prologue:
It was a sunny day in Domino city, not a cloud in the sky, the kind of day that was just perfect. Yugi and his friends were walking home from school, talking. Joey was his buoyant self, and was as always talking about something. This time it was a local city tournament they watched on TV the other night.
"Yug you saw it yourself! That girl was awesome; I mean what are the odds of a duelist using the same card as I do! And not just one! Three!" Joey said happily.
"Joey, maybe by the amount you talk about her, you should learn from her, you seem to idolize her already," Tristan commented.
"Nah! I can probably beat her no problem!" Joey put his hands behind his head as he walked.
"She is good Joey, don't underestimate her, using an all dragon deck is never easy, but the way she handled those three Red-Eye Black Dragons was great, her use of equip cards in combination with her already powerful dragons just made winning that tournament all the easier for her," Yugi said in a calm tone.
"Also let's not forget that she only duels in competitions, and no one really knows who the girl is, she wears a hook to cover up her head at all times!" Tea pointed out.
"That too, I think it should be illegal, I mean, common, the girl duels as if she doesn't want the fame!" Joey continued.
"Maybe she doesn't want fame," Yugi spoke.
"Fat chance! I mean what's the point of coming to a tournament, beating everyone there, and not accepting the prize, or the fame!" Joey countered.
"Maybe it is odd, but she probably has her reasons," Yugi got thoughtful.
[I think she is just dueling for fun,], Yugi nearly jumped five feet into the air when he heard Yami's voice in his head.
{Yami, I thought I told you to warn me when you do that!} Yugi shot back at his Yami.
[How can I warn you without speaking?]
{Good Point, and I guess you are probably right, she must dueling just for fun,} Yugi replied, sighing.
"Something the matter Yugi?" Tea asked, she noticed the sigh.
"Oh… nothing is the matter," Yugi replied with a smile. Tea shook her head lightly.
The four arrived at the turtle game shop, "Grandpa, I'm home!" Yugi called, announcing his arrival.
Solomon Motou walked out from the back of the shop and the storeroom holding something in his hands, "Great Yugi, I'm expecting a very important customer today, she ordered these cards just a few days back, and just today they came in," he showed the four the cards, three of them.
All three were dragons, two 'Thunder Dragon' with an attack power of sixteen hundred each, and one fusion-type 'Twin Headed Thunder Dragon' with an attack power twenty-eight hundred.
"Those are cool!" Joey cried reaching the take a closer look at the cards.
"I'm glad you agree with my opinion," they heard a quiet, feminine voice.
The people turned to the game shop doorway, there stood a tall girl; she had jet-black hair and bright blue eyes. She was dressed in black jeans and boots, a black tee shirt topped with a black leather jacket. On her shirt hung the only thing in her outfit that wasn't black, a long, thick silver chain; on it hung a medallion, a coiled Chinese dragon studded with what appeared to be diamonds, or white crystals.
"Thank you so much for ordering me these dragons Mr. Motou," the girl continued, reaching into her pocket she pulled out a hefty wad of money, "Here is the money for them," she handed the wad to grandpa in exchange for the three cards,
"You are welcome miss, might I add those are a fine choice," the elderly man replied. The girl nodded and pulled out a deck; pulling the nylon covering off her newest cards she added them to the deck and shuffled it in her hands.
However she wasn't really paying attention, and some cards slipped out from her grasp, falling unto the floor. "Oh sorry," the girl bent to pick them up and so did Yugi, he was quicker and picked up the cards, turning the three over.
What he saw in them was surprising to say the least; all three of the cards that fell from the girl's deck were of one kind. All three were Dragons, three Red-Eyes Black Dragons, in all their glory. "Here you go miss," Yugi returned the cards politely. The girl took them and hastily shuffled them back into her deck, putting it away.
"Once again thank you Mr. Motou, if I need any more cards, I'll come back," she bowed gently and ran off.
"Nice girl, but she is always in a rush," Yugi's grandpa commented.
"Yug, were those what I thought they were?" Joey asked.
"Depends what you thought they were," Tristan countered with a smirk.
"I'm not kidding here Tristan! I thought I saw all three were Red-Eye Black Dragon!" Joey shot back, in a semi-angry tone.
"They were Red-Eye Black Dragon Joey," Yugi pointed out.
The conversation stopped for a few seconds, Yugi turned to his grandfather, "Who was that girl Grandpa?" he asked.
"She really didn't say… she only said that she just moved here to Domino, and she really loves to duel. She also said that Dragons were her most favorite type of duel monsters, and when she asked me to order her the thunder dragon set, I did," Solomon Motou turned around and walked back into the storage room out back, with the money, undoubtedly to put it into the safe.
"She loves to duel, loves dragons… Has three Red-Eyes Black Dragons in her deck… and now that I think about it, that medallion of hers is kind of familiar," Joey continued.
It hit the four of them like an avalanche, "She's the Empress Of The Black Dragon! That girl from the tournament!" Tea spoke out the thing that all four realized in an instant.
Author notes: That's it for a prologue… should I make more?
