Chapter Three: Imaginary

"Noa!" Mokuba flung himself into the green-haired boy's arms.

Noa hugged the boy tightly, wishing this were real. "Hey there, Mokuba. How've you been?"

Mokuba bounced around the dream room. "Fun!" He glanced back at Noa, cheek's red. "Niisama's towel fell off while he was walking to the closet."

Noa laughed. "And?"

"He's big!" Mokuba moved his hands apart to show what he meant.

Noa cocked an eyebrow at the boy. "You're still blushing. Why?"

Mokuba kicked at the floor. "Hey, Noa, is it wrong for a boy to like other boys?"

Noa had a feeling he knew where this was going, but he decided to play along anyway. "It depends on who you're talking to."

"What do you think, though?" Mokuba pushed.

"I like boys, personally." Noa admitted.

Mokuba frowned at the elder Kaiba. "Like who?"

Noa shook his head. "You first."

Mokuba fidgeted. "Niisama."

Noa hummed. "I figured as much."

Mokuba's eyes widened, but all he said was, "Your turn."

"My turn? For what?" Noa gave the boy an innocent look.

"Who do you like?" Mokuba threw away his former shocked expression for an annoyed one.

Noa smiled sadly, deciding on the best answer he could say now. "It doesn't matter. That person doesn't care for me in the same way."

"Who? Niisama?" Mokuba looked confused.

"Ah..." Noa's laugh was bitter, even when faced with the thought of him and Seto together. "You know Seto and I couldn't stand two minutes in a room together without trying to rip each other to pieces."

Mokuba giggled. "Okay... Good point." He bit his lip. "So, who is it, Noa? You can tell me."

Noa ruffled the boy's raven locks, smiling thinly. "Maybe when you're older."

"No!" Mokuba grabbed the offending hand. "Tell me now, Noa!"

Noa found himself trapped in the stormy gaze. "Do you really want to know?" He asked hoarsely.

"Hai..." Mokuba's mouth hung open slightly. He was entranced by the eldest Kaiba's gaze, just as he had been back in Noa's world.

As if given a cue, both boys leaned in, closing their eyes, to kiss one another. Noa's arms wrapped about the raven-haired boy's body. Mokuba's hands buried themselves in Noa's green locks, pressing their mouths together even closer.

Noa broke the kiss, but left his arms around the other's waist, hands hanging down over Mokuba's ass. "Does that satisfy your curiosity?" He whispered softly.

In response, Mokuba pulled Noa in for another kiss. Noa moaned at the feelings going through his dream body. ~This isn't real...~ Noa realized sadly. He pushed Mokuba away.

Mokuba's eyes glittered with a wildly mixed contrast of confusion and hurt, his mouth bent into a curious frown. "Noa? Did I do something wrong?"

~He's so like Seto sometimes....~ Noa shook his head sharply, both to shake that thought from his mind, and to answer Mokuba's pained question.. "Mokuba, this isn't real. This is just a dream..." He tried to explain the boy, knowing it was useless.

"I don't care!" Mokuba latched onto the dead boy's waist, looking and acting more like the spoiled child he was than the calm mirror of his biological brother he'd played the part of only moments before. "I'd rather this dream to anything else!"

Noa watched Mokuba's tear-filled eyes sadly, feeling empty and cruel for pushing the boy away from him, both physically and emotionally. "What about Seto?"

"He's my caretaker. He'll never feel the same way." Mokuba mumbled, hurt strengthening with the tears welling in his eyes.

Noa's smile was ironic, and he was tempted to laugh at the very thought of Seto not loving Mokuba the way Mokuba loved him. He would have thought Seto's feelings were obvious, even back in virtual world, when he'd dove after a boy who'd been mad at him, and when he'd yelled into the sky for Noa to return Mokuba, then gone after the boy recklessly along a highway that shouldn't have been there. Noa was surprised that these things weren't evident to Mokuba. To Seto, the raven-haired Kaiba was much more than a brother, he was a desired object that the proud CEO found outside his long-fingered grasp, no matter how hard he reached for it. Noa brushed a finger along Mokuba's jawline. "I beg to differ."

Mokuba made a face. Whether it was aimed at the soft tough, or his words, Noa couldn't tell. "What do you mean by that?"

"It's the way he acts around you. You're the only thing in this world that matters to him. I think that, were it up to your life, or his, he'd choose your's without a doubt."

"What, been studying Niisama?" Mokuba questioned, curiosity getting the better of him, for the moment.

Noa smirked. "I decided I decided I needed to know the competition as well as I could."

Mokuba smiled naughtily, eyes glittering, despite the faint blush colouring his cheeks. "Have you even seen Niisama in the shower?"

Noa rolled his eyes, recalling his earlier argument with Seto. "No, but I have caught him soaking in the tub."

Storm-coloured eyes widened. "Ooh...."

Noa's smirk returned as he caught sight of a slight bulge in the front of Mokuba's grey PJ pants. "He's nothing special." Noa shrugged nonchalantly.

"Noa!" Mokuba looked horrified. "How can you say that?!"

Noa couldn't hold back a snicker at his ability to put down the brunette in front of Mokuba, without the brunette around to defend himself. "Hey, I hate your brother, remember?"

"No you don't. If you hated him, you wouldn't be trying so hard to convince me he truly cares for me more than a caretaker should. If you hated him, you'd keep me for yourself, like you did back in the virtual reality world." Mokuba pointed out.

Noa thought about it. The boy did have a point. If he'd still hated Seto as much as he did in his virtual plane of existence, he'd still be trying to take everything Seto owned, Mokuba included. "I may not hate Seto so much anymore, but that hasn't changed the way he feels about me." Noa replied thoughtfully.

"How would you know how he feels about you? Maybe it's changed!" Mokuba cried, indignant. Why wouldn't his big brother have forgiven such a great person as Noa?

Noa shook his head. "Not unless it's changed within the past few hours." He replied in a soft voice, as if to make the blow to the raven boy easier.

"Let me guess," Mokuba said sarcastically, not caring what Noa said. Noa didn't know Seto like he did. "Niisama told you he hated you."

Noa hummed in thought before answering, thinking back to the last conversation he and Seto had taken part in together that night. "Not directly, no. Some of the things he says to me and the ways he says them, make me think he hates me, though."

"Wait. Are you telling me that you and Niisama talk to one another?" Mokuba asked, stormy eyes awash with confusion, lips thrown into a childishly thoughtful pout.

"Well, yes. As a ghost, outside of this dream world, he can see and hear me."

"No way!"

"Yes way."

"How come he can see you, but I can't?" Mokuba's body seemed to slump as he spoke his sad realization aloud.

"Seto thinks it has something to do with him being a reincarnation."

"Not fair..."

Noa smiled softly. "Let's come up with a plan to get you and Seto together, neh?"

"But, what about you?"

"Don't worry about me." Noa hugged the youngest boy tightly, touched by his concern.

"But...

"Come on." Noa gave the boy a pleading look.

Mokuba gave in. "Okay...."

********Tsutsuku ********

I was trying a different style in there. More descriptions, something which has often been lacking within my writing. That and my constant references to the Noa Arc epis. I've actually seen some, what with getting a subbed DVD & it starting in America. The subbed is way better, trust me.

Another of these bloody short chappies. Chapter 4 should make up for it. It's getting longer by the minute. It's not done yet, but I'm posting this anyway. Uhm, not only is 4 longer, it's also a HELL of a lot more interesting than I think these past few chappies have been, what with Noa-chan and Seto-chan's constant bickering. It's kinda angsty, too, but not too much. I think you'll like it!! ^_^

Don't expect anymore of this fic from me for a while. Hopefully it won't take as long as this chappie, but, if it does, we'll survive. Only 2 more chappies till the end!! w00t!!

Hang in there!
