Chapter Two: The Broken Millennium Puzzle

Chapter two Summary: Yami vs. Keith for the puzzle who ever wins takes the puzzle. Yami has to win he realizes that his life is connected to the puzzle. Seto, Joey, Yugi and Téa are on their way. Also more danger lurks out side Yami Bakura has taken over Bakura again.

{I really do wish Seto was here but he’d be in danger. What if this guy goes after him and Yugi?} “Make your move Pharaoh.” Keith says. Yami shakes his head his blond bangs moving with each movement. I’ll summon Koumori Dragon in defense mode. (So far these nothing I can do but defended myself.} “I’ll play Seiyaryu in attack mode. Then, I’ll place on card facedown. Next, I’ll play the Magic card Stop defense. This switches your monster into attack mode. Now Zera Attack.” Keith says.

(YK: Life point Count Yami: 500 Keith: 500)

Yami draws his next card. He plays another monster in defense, and Keith attacks it with Seiyaryu, destroying the Mystical Elf. Then Keith places two more cards in his magic/trap zone, and switches Zera to defense mode “Soon I’ll be the controller off the millennium puzzle and you will be nothing Pharaoh.” Keith laughs out. Yami looked down at the puzzle and the back across the field to his opponent. “The duels not over Keith.”

Yami draws a card.” {Maybe I can do this} “Alright I’ll summon the Dark Magician defense mode and play the magic card magical hats to conceal him then I’ll place three card face down. (YK: This changed from the real T.V version.) “Alright I’ll place on card face down and I’ll play the trap card magic jammer this allows me to stop you magic card and destroy it by discarding one card from my hand. Next I’ll play the curse of fiend this card switches the monster modes around. Your weak Dark Magician goes into attack mode and so does Zera.

My Seiyaryu goes into defense mode. Now Zera Attack.” Keith yells. “Not so fast Keith I’ll play the trap card Spellbinding circle. This card stops you monster from attack and decrease it’s attack points by 700. Also Your Zera not allowed attacking.” Yami said.

“Pharaoh your such a fool doesn’t you thinks I planed for your moves. I’ll activate the trap card Solemn Judgment this card allows me to destroy a monster magic or trap card if I pay the toll of half my life points. (YK: Yami: 500 Keith: 500) “I thought you would try that you rely on rare cards you nothing so I’ll play the magic card remove trap this negates and destroys a trap card. So bye-bye solemn judgment.” Yami says. “What how can this be? How could you know I would play that card?” Keith said. Yami closed his eyes. “Someone close to me also has that card but he use it to save his weaker monsters.” Yami said.

-Flashback-

“Alright my move I’ll play the dark magician and then two cards face down. Your move Seto. “I know your paining something Kaiser. I’ll summon the monster the immortal of thunder. Let me feel you in on this one I gain 3,000 life points now if you destroy it I’ll lose 5,000. Of coarse if I let you. Next I’ll place three cards face down and then end my turn. “Fine go ahead dark Magician attack his monster.” Yami said. “I’ll activate this trap card Solemn Judgment this card allows me to destroy any card I chooses. I’ll destroy your Magician.” Seto said. “Do you just own cards I never heard of?” Yami said with a smirk on his. “Maybe.” Seto said.

-End Flash back-

“Pharaoh quit daydreaming and duel.” Keith said. {Seto I forgot all about your probably on you way here. I have to end this quickly.} “Alright I’ll attack with my dark magician. But first I’ll play this magic card Rush Recklessly.” this increase my Magician by 700 until the end of the turn. {Seto gave me this card. Ironic I’d win the duel with his help.} Up on the high platform Bakura laughed to himself sad the fool stood no chance against the idiot down there.” Bakura turned and left into the shadows. Yami sighed to himself. “I won my puzzle back fool now just who are you?” Yami asked. “Listen fool you may have won for now but I will be back to claim my puzzle.” Keith said.

Yami just watched. He started to gather his cards. The holder of the Rod keeps taunting Keith. Keith picked up a pipe and started swing wildly in the air. “Where are you…Get out of my head.” He keeps repeating Keith hit a fuse box witch caused sparks to fly on the gasoline tanks. “What the? Keith stop you going to set this place on fire.” Yami yelled. Keith noticed the puzzle and thought the voice was coming from it he ran over to it and smashed it into the wall. Causing it to break into pieces. Yami hunched over immediately grabbing his sides.

{Oh, no what did he do. I can’t believe this pain I’ve never felt anything like it. Gods.} Yami stumbled backward and fell of the platform on to his back. He let out a hiss of pain. “Why do I feel so weak” Yami breath out. {I can’t move my body. What happening am I dying? I can’t I promised Inochi I wouldn’t leave him. Please tell me this isn’t happening. If I do live an I find that fool with the rod I swear I’ll kill him.} “I swear.” Yami said. Tears started to prick from his eyes. He turned his head to the side and noticed the fire. “I am going to die. I can’t survive this.” He rasped out. He closed his eyes waiting for fate.

-Meanwhile-

“Whoa hey guys do you see that smoke.” Joey said. They looked up toward where he was pointing. Seto looked to his right. (This is where the last arrow is pointing. I can feel that pain his increased again.) Seto hand moved to his chest. “Yugi, you and Téa go call the fire department and me Tristan and Kaiba will wait by the warehouse.” Joey said. “Right.” Yugi said and him and Téa ran off. “Come on Kaiba.” Tristan said. Brown haired boy keep spacing out. When they got close to the warehouse they heard someone calling for help. “Alright Tristan lets break the door down. Joey said. “Alright on 3.” Tristan said. “3” They both said as they broke the door down. They saw bandit Keith run by Seto saying that place is hunted.

Joey and Tristan ran after him Seto turned to go but something was pulling him to stay. He pulled out his deck. It was glowing. (Black Luster soldier -envoy of the beginning why are you… Is Yami in there?) Seto closed his eyes. He could feel it Yami was in there. Seto felt the pain that rang in his heart from the Millennium Item in his chest. Seto enter and to his pure shock and dismay Yami was lying there and his puzzle was shattered next to him.

Seto rushed to his side. He lifted Yami a little to see his face. “Kaiser come on wake up.” Seto said shaking the weaker body. Yami opened his eyes to stare into worried blue eyes. “Blue-eyes you found me.” Yami said his eyes half lidded. “Kaiser, What’s wrong?” Seto asked his eyes started to water. He had never seen Yami like this he was always the stronger one. “I need my puzzle…I need you to solve it. If you don’t I might not live through this.” Yami said watching tears run down Seto’s face.

“How?” Seto said. The entire pieces lay scatted in front of him. “Seto you’re the only one. Please.” Yami said. Seto grabbed one of the pieces and it glow and then it showed where it would go in his mind. Seto took off his jacket and folded so it was resting under Yami’s head. Yami was going in and out of conscious. Each piece lies in different parts of the room. Seto stood from the fallen teen and proceeded to collect the pieces.

Each one he got closer to was closer to the fire. Seto grabbed the last piece. His hand burned lightly he didn’t let go however. He knew he had to finish the puzzle. He unhooked the chain and started to work on the puzzle. Each piece falling into place as the fire blazed around them. Seto breathing was getting rougher do to the smoke, but he had to finish. (Kaiser I can’t give in not yet… Have to finish.) Seto looked down at him. “I can’t let you die.” Seto whispered to himself. Seto raised his arm to wipe the tears from his eyes. The last piece was the same piece that burned his hand and engraving the Millennium symbol into his palm. The last piece was placed in and the puzzle was complete.

Seto smiled at his finished work. He placed the puzzle next to Yami. It was glowing since he placed the last piece in. Yami opened his purple eyes slowly. He looked up into blue eyes beaming with tears. “K-Kaiser.” Seto whispered. Yami sat up looking into the blue eyes. Tears fell from his eyes Yami wiped them away. Smiling faintly at him. “Inochi I’m sorry I put you through that.” Yami said. Seto laid his head against Yami’s chest.

Yami wrapped his arms around him. “Seto we need to get you out of here. Can you stand?” Yami asked Seto pulled away from the embrace. He nodded slowly and stood with Yami. Seto felt dizzy do to the heat. He felt light head and almost fell to his knees in Yami hadn’t supported him. “Come one I got to get you out of here.” Yami said. Yami wrapped his arm around Seto’s waist and he took on of Seto’s arm and wrapped it around his neck. {I have to get him out of here. He risked his life to save mine.} Yami and Seto continued towards the door.

-Meanwhile. -

“Guys where is Seto?” Yugi asked. “We went to see if it was Bandit Keith we saved and when we came back he was gone.” Joey said. [Oh, no he might have went in side.] “Look!” Tristan said. Yugi turned and looked toward the door Yami and Seto both emerged half caring each other. Their friends ran toward them. “Are you guys okay?” Yugi said. Yami dropped to his knee taking Seto with him. He was so tried normally Seto was really light but he seemed heavy right now. Everything seemed hard to do even breathe. Both boys collapsed from the their exhaustion.

-Later that day. -

Yugi hung up the phone. “I called Mokuba and my mom and told them what happened. Mom said she be down later and Mokuba said the same.” Yugi said. Turning his gaze from the phone to his friends. Yami was awake but Seto was still asleep. Yami didn’t speak a word he keep his eyes out the window. “Hey Yam don’t worry about it to much.” Joey said. Yami made some sound but they couldn’t tell what he said. “Come on Yami at least say something.” Tristan said. Yami turned his gaze to Seto peaceful sleeping form and smiled to himself. “I want to be alone guys.” Yami rasped out his voice held a slight gentle edge then normal. Yugi nodded and they left. Not before Téa gave on last look at Yami. Yami watched as Seto’s eyes closed tightly together before they bolted open.

“Hey, kakkoi (JP2)” Yami said watching Seto blushed a shade of pink. He chuckled at the reaction. Yami stood and walked over to Seto bed. He sat down so he and Seto where eye level. “Kaiser, are you okay?” Seto asked. Yami noticed a gentle edge to his voice. “Thanks to you I’m fine.” Yami said cupping Seto cheek. “I wouldn’t have found if I didn’t have Black Luster soldier -envoy of the beginning he showed me where you were.” Seto said. Blue eyes turning to gaze lovely into Yami purple ones. Yami smiled and pressed his lips to Seto’s. He pulled away slowly and whispered against Seto’s lips “You save my life to day blue eyes.” Seto looked up at him. “I don’t understand how I was able to put the puzzle together.” Seto said. “Don’t worry about. We both need to rest we have a long road a head.” Yami said.

“Kaiser sleep with me onegai. I’m afraid if I go to sleep and wake up tomorrow you won’t be here.” Seto said resting his head on Yami’s red Pajama shirt. His hand clutching his shirt tightly. Yami realized that Seto hadn’t done that since before he killed Gozaburo. He know he was afraid. He could tell by the way he spoke to him. “Please, Kaiser don’t leave me.” Seto said. Yami wrapped his arms around him. “Remember what I promised you I’d be with you forever. Seto looked up at him. “That something I’m willing to keep Seto yakusoku(JP:4).

“Yeah but I could have lost you today. I felt helpless.” Seto said. His eyes felled with Tears before they fell down his face. “No more of that Seto. I … won’t let it happen again I won’t let anything happen to myself or you.” Yami said felling his own tears fall from his eyes. “Aishiteru.” Yami said. Kissing Seto forehead. Yami laid back onto the pillows. Seto resting his head on tri-colored haired boys chest. Eyes closing as he was pulled into sleep due to the Yami’s heart beats and his breathing. Yami fell fast to sleep. Sensing that his Koibito had clam down and felt safe in his arms.

He didn’t know what was up a head but he was ready to face it. Besides he had Seto in his arms again and that’s all that mattered to him.
